Just one night.
He told himself this was important. He couldn't put off powering up for forever, and he'd promised himself as much. Even just here and there was fine, but he needed to start powering up again.
It didn't make him any less nervous now that he was out, and he realized about an hour into it that he probably should've done it with part of his team or something because if he wanted to take baby steps, hey, going out on a patrol not alone probably would've been more conductive to getting back in the saddle (so to speak).
But he could do this. He didn't sense any chaos signatures yet, anyway. Just one order signature off in the distance, which was safe enough, and - okay, so that seemed like a good way to go then, huh? The squire trailed in a meandering, but determined, path to seek out whoever it was. Meeting someone else of the Order counted as productive in his book, and it was a lot less dangerous than idiotically jumping into a portal to the negaverse.

Sessrumnir was used to patrolling either by himself or with Remus, mostly because he tended to make people he didn’t know feel uncomfortable. He did it on purpose. He had no plans on making friends and if they decided he was too much of a jerk to handle then that was probably for the best. Thankfully, Remus had been the exception.
It had been nearly a year since then, and while Sessrumnir knew he was still rather grumpy in dealing with other people, he felt as though he wasn’t as purposefully horrible as he was before. But that didn’t mean he wanted to make friends.
He felt the aura of the squire well before he could see who it was, and he drew in a breath to steel himself for whoever it would be this time. They definitely seemed to be heading in his direction, so he figured he might as well get the interaction over with and send whoever it was home crying. Probably.
“Mont Blonc,” he greeted in slight surprise when he finally caught sight of the knight of Saturn. “You’re still around.” It was said matter-of-factly, not as a question. Obviously he hadn’t gotten himself killed, nor had he run away (or if he had, he was back again). That was a good sign.
