Sutai was sailing through the air at that hour, bouncing from rooftop to rooftop in downtown Destiny City near the courthouse. She'd promised a certain judge, Mister Alexei, that she would patrol nearby in case of danger. Yes, he said he was fine with all the police officers and civilian security guards in and around the building, but Sutai knew firsthand how crafty the Negaverse could be. Agents could easily overwhelm your standard police officer.

Not that she alone could stop them from doing so, but her presence nearby might deter some lieutenants from trying anything funny.

And so she stood, perched on top of a street lamp, somewhat out of sight except for her many crystals catching the light, and her power signature being easily detectable. Sutai yawned, but tried to keep vigilant, watching the streets through the scope on her sextant.

Sutai squeaked in response, not having been paying attention to the Order signature that had approached her from below. No, she was too focused on searching for Chaos and figured the Order signatures she did come across would keep moving. She teetered slightly on her perch before righting herself and dropping to street level.

Each of her uniform decorations jingled as she landed, and she gave Fornax a curtsy, as was customary. "Oh, hello there, Mister Senshi! How are you tonight? The streets seem pretty clear right now. Are you by yourself? What's your name? My name is Sutai, Squire of Polaris. It's so very nice to meet you!"

She giggled at the end of her introduction. This senshi looked like a baker, from what she could tell! And the thought made her hungry.

"Ah!" The Squire squeaked in sheer delight when Fornax bowed to her, clapping her hands in glee. "Mister Fornax, it's a pleasure to meet you!" She tittered and giggled like a middle school girl with a crush. "You're so polite! I've never met anyone who bows back. Thank you! Thank you!"

Sutai couldn't help but be effervescent and giggly. "Oh, yes please! It would be wonderful to have some company tonight. It does get pretty lonely if you're by yourself. Do you typically patrol around this area, Mister Fornax? I don't believe I've ever seen you before. Are you new, Mister Fornax?"

The Squire seemed incredibly pleased with the senshi she just met. So polite! Such manners! "I just came back to Destiny City not too long ago myself. It seems like the Negaverse is still very active but they're not as active in India. I suppose it's good I can back! We can help more people here where the Negaverse is more active!"

"Oh, you're so nice, Mister Fornax, waiting for your friends like that. It's so very far out of the way, but you came here regardless! You must be such a very good friend, yes indeed, to come all this way to ensure their safety. It can be very dangerous out here, especially when one is intoxicated. Why, I saw a corrupted Negaverse senshi draining a drunk man of his energy. It was awful!"

Sutai shook her head, rather upset by the fact that she couldn't fight the senshi off very well, despite being a rank higher than her opponent. With a dramatic sigh, and seemed embarrassed and twiddled her thumbs, fidgeting. "Ah, Mister Fornax? Um... I so hate to be an imposition on you, and we just met, but..."

The squire let out an adorable, pitiful whine. "I... I need help to be a better fighter and I don't really have anyone to practice with... would... would you help me, please? I'll...I'll make it up to you! I can cook for you or help you with your friends or something!! Pretty please?"

Sutai used Puppy-Dog Eyes!

"Ah, Mister Sessrumnir -- he's a Jupiter knight! -- he said that a year or so ago, a biiiiig offensive push was made against the Negaverse, so that's something, I imagine..." Sutai tapped her cheek. Not being in the country at the time, she couldn't participate, but certainly hoped the casualties on all sides were minimal, whenever possible. She wasn't a fighter and her stance on curing the Chaos problem certainly reflected that.

When Fornax agreed to assisting her, Sutai squeaked in excitement. "Oh, this will be very good! I could certainly use any help I can get, you see... so many things cannot be solved through hugs and magic that slows people down..."

Of course, then he asked how much she knew about hand-to-hand combat, and Sutai swallowed a lump in her throat. "Ahh..." The Squire fiddled with her sextant and presented it to Fornax sheepishly. "....I can bonk things with this?"

Sutai nodded with grand enthusiasm. “Yes, yes! We should both become stronger because the city needs us, regardless of whether or not we were involved in the big battle. Everyday, smaller battles are the ones where the citizens of the city need our help the most. Yes indeed!”

Fornax’s next question had the Squire’s face fall almost as abruptly as she had showed enthusiasm. She fiddled with her instrument, obviously trying to put off answering the question honestly. Embarrassment caused her cheeks to flare into a bright red color and Sutai sputtered. “Ah.. umm… I don’t… really…. Umm…”

More fidgeting, more fussing, more sputtering. “I don’t… um… I don’t? You know, it’s… it’s very rude to punch people but… but the Negaverse, you see, they… oh… um… well… I usually just um… throw… my sextant here… and bonk them… and then… they run away! Yes.”

The squire’s run-on answer seemed to be all she could come up with and she looked at Fornax sheepishly. “Hee hee?”

"Umm... yes! Yes, I should, definitely." Even though Sutai desperately didn't want to have magic used on her that wasn't happy and good, she knew this was a war. She knew she wouldn't have many opportunities to practice with an ally. The Negaverse were known for carrying lethal weaponry and without another senshi to back her up, or martial arts abilities, Sutai was a sitting duck.

The Squire turned away from Fornax quickly, issuing one last high-pitched whine. Tsui was no longer around to shield Sutai from the realities of war. Princess Polaris was gone too. Sutai had to learn to stand on her own and defend herself instead of relying so much on other people. Turning back around, Sutai made a determined face. Or so she thought. emotion_donotwant

"Okay! Okay, Mister Fornax, I'll try my best."

Holding her sextant close to her chest, she began to concentrate. Her magic would allow her to move faster than she normally would. Sutai had to think like a tactician - use her strengths, which were not physical. The squire had never used the magic on herself, so she hoped it worked!

Sutai found that concentrating her own magic on herself was an entirely new experience. She knew that she had only a limited amount of time to use it, and Order folks she used it on would speed up. As a result, Sutai was moving so much faster than she was used to. The Squire squealed as her forward momentum was beyond her ability to control. Careening towards poor Fornax, a few of the kneading punches managed to steer Sutai directly into the path of the senshi.

"WAAAHHH!! MISTER FORNA----!!"

Sutai flailed this way and that, moving at a good one-and-a-half times faster than normal. This was definitely not what the squire was expecting when it came to practicing their magic. Perhaps, at a later date, with more time to process, she would appreciate the unexpected nature of this training session. After all, one never knew what nefarious things the Negaverse might do. But for now, Sutai was busy flailing and trying desperately not to run Fornax over.
