Albireo was at the lake at quarter til midnight. She had made sure she was ready for this, and knew there was no going back. Her bank account was emptied and the money stuffed into her civilian pockets, just to make sure she would have some money in this new life. And the note, letting her know to come to the park at seven the next day was folded safely in her pocket as well.

All she needed now was for Jarosite to come as well…either that or she would be trying to do this alone…not that…not that she minded going through this alone…but…

She was scared.

She was going back to the unknown…and she might be doing this alone…and that in itself was absolutely terrifying. At least when she…when she corrupted she had support. She had Jarosite…and she had Dahlia…

Idly she wondered what had happened to that beautiful cat who had been such a siren in her ear…she hoped she was all right…but…

But now wasn’t time to feel sympathy for chaos. Now wasn’t the time to waver.

As she sat on the edge of the lake, bathed in moonlight…she just hoped she wouldn’t be alone. She hoped for that almost as much as she hoped for a miracle that would bring her back to the right side.

She was radiant, bathed in moonlight. Her hair glowed like a burning fire, the blue and green ribbons criss crossing her fuku shimmering as she moved. God, she was far more beautiful that he'd ever seen; how'd he come to have captured her heart? Merric sighed, gazing at her as though he was seeing her for the first time. In some ways he was. How long had it been since he'd really looked at her? How long had he gone without truly seeing Albireo - and the girl underneath - for what she was? A scared, anxious, lost girl about to step into the unknown and embrace the light. His precious swan, waiting to fly on white wings again.

He killed the engine of his bike, a single duffle bag of what possessions he still needed tied to it. Like her, his bank account was empty ( though there hadn't been much to take out ) and he had one last thing to do. That could wait, though.

It was Jarosite who dismounted the bike, the familiar rush of Chaos enveloping him like a second skin. Now though, it felt course, like untreated wool, and clung to him like a parasite. Never once did he think he'd ever give up the strength and power of the Negaverse, but love was strong and the alternative, to become a monster....

"...Hey..." he said with a soft smile, joining Albireo at the lake's edge. He would go to hell and back for her, if just to see the light in her green eyes again.

He was here.

For a moment, she thought she was going to cry. There was a pain in her chest and her eyes burned and stung as the wave of relief washed over her. “Hey yourself.”

The words came out barely above a whisper, and with a few steps, she had crossed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around Jarosite, hugging him with a desperation that she had never before really felt.
This was really going to happen. She was really going to put herself through this whole ordeal once again…and…and maybe this time she would come out happy…

But what if she forgot him…? What if this wiped him from her mind once and for all…what if it wiped everything from her mind once and for all.

“…I’m scared.”

It was difficult to admit, but…it had to be said at least…at least…

“I love you, Jarosite…Merric. I love you, and I’ll…always love you…no matter what I remember after all of this is over…I promise that I will always love you…okay?”

She only hoped that she could keep that promise.

Jarosite buried his fingers in her hair, pressing her to him. She clung to him and he returned the gesture, taking in her everything. The way her hair felt under his fingers, the way she looked at him, the way she spoke, voice wavering and unsure. It was very real that he could lose her, either her memories of him or his of her. He knew this, he went into this knowningly, but still he held her as though it was the last time he'd touch her.

"I'm scared too, love," he said, pressing his lips to her hair. He breathed in the scent of her hair, imprinting it on his heart and soul. Without her, he'd be lost, he'd be monstrous and broken. If he lost her...

Jarosite had to believe he'd find her again, in this lifetime or the next. He had to, because if he didn't, the overwhelming reality of what they were about to do would crush his will to go through with it.

He pulled his head back slightly to gently lift her face up to him with a hand. Jarosite smiled at her, almost losing himself in her eyes. "I love you... and I have loved you across a thousand lifetimes and ten thousand worlds. We will always find each other, my Albireo. Always."

He pressed his lips to her forehead slowly, trying to impress all of his love for her, all of his adoration, into that one action.

A smile crossed Albireo’s face and she nodded, closing her eyes as Jarosite kissed her forehead. There was…no real reason to be afraid…this was the unknown sure…but they were going together.

There had been tears gathering in her eyes, and they finally spilled over, trailing down her cheeks.

‘Please,’ She thought, trying to find whatever…whatever good part of her starseed…of her life she could. ‘Please, we need help. We don’t know where to turn…there has to be someone out there that can help us come home.’

The thought was more of a prayer and as the words filled her head, she was filled with a strange sense of peace.

“I want to just…be rid of the darkness…” The words were spoken aloud and were just a whisper, but she hoped that someone would hear them…maybe she should have had found someone before just…walking out here like this…if they couldn’t…if nothing came of this…

What if someone from the Negaverse found out…

If she got Jarosite into trouble because she was unhappy…

She would never be able to life with herself.

“Please…”

An honest prayer could be heard throughout the galaxy. When a starseed called for help, Cosmos heard it. Most of the time.

Tonight, the stars were in Albireo's favor.

At first, there was nothing to notice. In the far corner of the sky, what looked like a falling star began to drift into view. Closer, and closer.

It was a blazing light, brief and sudden—and then it was gone.

And Cosmos stood before them.

She stood a little taller when she saw the two of them, and she gripped her staff as if she expected to be attacked.

She did not let fear consume her, though; instead she trusted in the purity of the cry, the true need for help.

“If you are sincere in your request, I can help you. I can chase the darkness away for you.” Her gaze drifted from one face to the other. “For both of you. If you only ask. I trust you know what it entails?” she chanced.

Something was always lost, unfortunately. The Chaos sunk its teeth into any part of them it could keep and held fast. She could see that, between the two of them, there was some sort of bond. She did not know them well enough to put a label on it, but she knew that love came in many forms.

If they went together, they might still remember each other.

Jarosite stared at Cosmos in mild shock for a moment. The radiance of her, how much light she was, sucked his breath away and he took a step back, arm protective around Albireo. His defensive mechanisms kicked in, the urge to summon his swords and fight this new being who was so overwhelmingly good and Order and light trembled through his fingers and he fought back a grimace.

Yet the woman spoke, responding to Albireo's request and he glanced at the senshi on his arm for half a second. He looked back at Cosmos, and stood half an inch taller.

"The dark has its claws in deep, and we wish to save ourselves from its leash," replied Jarosite, finding himself speaking more formally than he otherwise would. "... And I wish to atone for a decision I selfishly made long ago." He looked back at Albireo, and kissed her hair again. He should have stepped into the light back then, not bring her into the darkness.

It was time she went home, with him this time.

Albireo’s eyes widened when the help appeared. She hadn’t expected…she hadn’t expected to actually be heard

She glanced at Jarosite, a little concerned by the reaction he had to the woman…She was radiant. Albireo could see that plainly…and while the chaos inside her urged her to put an end to the light that this woman provided, it was simple to ignore. Chaos might have tainted her…but she had never really allowed it into her hear, as she had with her starseed.

“I know what will be lost…I’ve lost before…when I made the mistake to turn my back on Order…I…”

The senshi took a step forward, gently freeing herself from Jarosite’s arm and extending a hand, pleadingly to the beautiful woman in front of her. “You can help us? You can bring us back…t-to the true path? You can bring us home?”

The closer she got, the brighter that Cosmos seemed to become, and that brightness was almost too much to handle…but she had to. She wanted this darkness gone. Forever.

Her other hand reached back, groping for Jarosite’s. She wanted him with her. Wanted to be connected as they shed the darkness…maybe then…they would still have one another.

Albireo did not have to reach far. Jarosite stepped up behind her, slipping his fingers between hers and stood beside her. They would do this together.

No matter what.

Cosmos watched the two of them with a contemplative expression; it was soft, and tired, but that was not so unusual for her. She donned a smile for them—warm, and welcoming. “I can bring you home. It doesn’t not matter, whatever has happened in the past. All that matters is that you are ready to step into the future, on the right path.”

To bring two over at once was not an easy task, but Cosmos knew that she could return to the Cauldron and recuperate. She was not afraid to strain herself, not for the greater good.

Moments like these did not come often and she wasn’t going to waste it, or risk that Metallia would sense them wavering and step in.

She moved slowly, not because she was afraid but because she didn’t want them to be. Her hand reached out and took Albireo’s.

“Thank you for coming to me. This might be uncomfortable.”

Albireo might have an inkling of what was to come but Cosmos had always heard that Chaos was the harder of the two energies to accept. She drew in a breath and focused; a white light consumed her. It spread from Cosmos’ hand to Albireo’s, and Jarosite’s, until both of them were consumed in the glistening energy.

Burning away Chaos was not a pleasant experience, but it was necessary.

They just needed to accept it and will the darkness away.

Albireo accepted the hand graciously, relishing how warm it felt. “I can handle discomfort...I appreciate this more than I can say.”

Uncomfortable was an understatement. It hurt. There was a burning inside of her chest, a burning in her head and all through the rest of the body. The gentle warmth of Cosmos’s fingers was replaced with Fire. A fire that cleansed and purified everything that it touched.

A fire that she felt burning away at her…her very being. For a moment, one terrible moment, she felt her hand slipping from Jarosite’s.

Jarosite. Merric. No, she couldn’t let that be burned away. She tightened her grip on his hand, letting out a quiet cry of pain as the last bit of chaos burned out of her, leaving her clean. White and pure once again.

Though of course, there had been consequences, and ones that she hadn’t even thought about. She was no longer Eternal Albireo, she was Super Albireo once again. Back at the stage she left, all to atone for her sins.
And atone she would.

He braced himself, watching the light envelop Albireo and tightened his fingers on hers as fear welled up inside of him and ---

It burned.

A fire ignited in his chest and spread outwards, eating and scorching its way through his body. His corruption had been painful, yes, but this was something entirely different. Chaos tore and infected, whereas Cosmos' light found all the darkness and purged it from his system.

His fingers tightened on Albireo... on the senshi next to him, whose name escaped him but that was okay. Even through the fire he knew, he just knew she was his. They had history.... though what that history was was muddled. Flickers of years flashed before him, engulfed in bright fire.

A youma. An instatable bloodlust. A being he fought and killed for. Ranks and swords and caverns of stone and crystal. Wars fought on roads of rainbow, in ruins, in warehouses, across time and space.

Meeting a pretty swan on a roof and courting her. Lifting her over his head and guiding her to the dark. Loving her, but loving her too. Playing cat and mouse with her, coming under fire from... someone over her.

Being of two personas, two identities.

A back alley drink gone wrong.

and i saw in the corner of your smile, there's been a darkness there awhile... you know...

The fire consumed these and more, yet she was still there, still present in his heart, in his mind, in his soul and he clung to the face of a pretty girl with large green eyes and hair the color of fire. He couldn't place the name, but it didn't matter because he loved her no matter what. For a thousand years, and across ten thousand lifetimes he loved her.

Always.

Yet it was not just memories that Cosmos' light burned away. He let out a yell, a cry of pain and his knees buckled as the fire tore at his clothing, at his identity, at who he was in that moment and space. There was a snap, and the hairband holding his hair in it's pony tail broke as the light finished purging him of whatever he'd been before. Azure locks fell to his waist, and over his shoulders, covering his face as the light receded, leaving not a general of the Negaverse on bended knee, but someone else.

A knight of Neptune.

Cosmos was not stung with the same pain of the purging light that they had been, but all purifications took a toll on her. When the last of the Chaos slipped from each of them, she withdrew her hand. She drooped, just slightly, weary from the surge of energy it had required to chase out Metallia’s claim on them.

Her job was not fully done; she could not leave without knowing that they were all right.

She glanced between them, brows knit with fatigue and concern. “That is all,” she promised. “You are free of Chaos, now.”

Her voice was soft, gentle. She was a strong woman, but her body had limitations. At least, while she was away from the Cauldron. She wanted to return to her home, to her duties, but she stayed with them, sharing a relaxed smile. She tried to hide it, but she was using her staff to steady herself. “Are you alright?”

Albireo blinked, shuddering slightly as her body tried to get used to being free of chaos once again, though it didn’t seem like it would be difficult to get used to it. She felt...so free. So light. It was wonderful.

“Oh...Thank you…thank you.” She glanced down at her outfit and her face broke into a smile...a slightly confused smile...but a smile all the same.

She...was a super senshi again. She didn’t quite understand how that happened...but...maybe it was part of her punishment…? Maybe…

Jarosite.

She glanced beside her, taking in the new knight that stood there, and a wave of jealousy coursed through her…

He was stronger than she was now...he was still a knight and she was only super. It didn’t make sense. “Are you okay…?” Albireo didn’t know his new name...didn’t know if he’d even know her at all…

It was a sobering thought, one that sliced through the jealousy she was feeling and sweapt it all away.

"I am... alright, I think," he said, looking over at the young woman next to him. Silver eyes tightened for a half second, a look of confusion and unrecognition on his face. He didn't know her, exactly, but he felt that he knew her. He could not recall her name, but she was just so familiar...

"You remind me of someone I love... someone outside of this... uh, outfit...." he said softly, expression softening to one of adoration. He knew her, he knew her, he was certain of it, but he couldn't place why or where. Yet he loved her. He loved her with all his heart and soul, and somethings could not be purged by light or darkness.

"My little swam..." Siegfried, for his name was Siegfried but he couldn't place why or from where it had come from, gently kissed the back of her gloved hand. He spared at glance to the senshi standing up and nodded his head.

"Thank you for...." the act escaped him, a fleeting memory he couldn't quite reach but he tried anyway "For what you did."
