User ImageThe sun was slowly making its way across the sky, warming the chilled ground that was absorbing it's light. The morning itself was relatively warm for the season, but it was the last day she could put off some of the plants she wanted to grow this year. If she waited any longer they wouldn't produce fruit at all!

Abby huffed, wiping some hair out of her face with a dirty hand. It was high time for a break. With a quiet grunt, the light blue female stood up, brushing her hands off. She'd been working since before the sun had started to rise in the sky, and it was high time she found a drop to drink. Or a bite to eat. Something. It was with a small squeak she realized she was completely covered in dirt. Was she light blue, or brown? Only a bath would tell. Abby couldn't help but laugh at herself. Gardening around her well always ran her to the point of utter obsession.

This was farther than he usually traveled, but he was following a trace sign of a specific rare herb he'd been trying to get for weeks. It was one that when brewed in a drink, such a tea, had pain relieving properties. Very useful, especially since it could be dried. It was a top trade item, and he was quite excited to see the opportunity to get a hold of some.

He'd been tracking it for quite a while though, all through the night and into morning. Soon he would have to turn back, herb or no herb. The fae signed while pushing past some bushes. "Come on...please?" He murmured to himself as he scanned the horizon for a patch of the stuff. It was then that he mentioned a moving shape. One that had just stood up, and was...laughing? Based off of the dirt on her hands, perhaps she would know of the herb he was looking for? He trotted over to the raven haired Goddess. "Howdy ma'am! Pardon me, can I ask somethin if you have the time?" He spoke while walking, his honeyed draw still sweet even when tired.

Abby jumped, looking in any direction but the one the voice was coming from. There was no way someone was talking to her right? But there wasn't anyone else around here, was there? The demi's eyes widened finally spotting the brilliantly patterned male before her.

"Uh?" What a wordsmith! Abby flushed, pulling a defying lock of hair from her face. "Sure, what can I do for you?" She tried again, looking him over. This was probably some fae looking for her well, or something in the area. Venus only knew what he was really looking for, she wasn't sure she could do anything for this guy.

He had the decency to look sheepish at her jump. He didn't mean to startle her! She was quietly working before he came along. "I've been on the hunt for a specific plant. Looks like this." He reached into the basket on his arm before plucking out one of the few good sprouts from the trail leading up to here. "Don't 'spose you've seen a patch of it 'round these parts?" It was about now that he realized just how pretty of a lady she was underneath all that dirt. He didn't see it at first, but now up close he could get a real appreciation for it.

She was hot. Really, really hot.

Abby's head tilted to the side, looking at the plant in his hand. That looked quite a bit like some starts she'd just been working on. With a thinking frown, she reached out, taking the sprout from his hand. "Oh! These little guys." Her thoughtful frown turned into a dazzling smile. They were beautiful and grew like wildflowers out here.

"I've got quite a few, just over here." The demi grinned, sweeping her arm out to indicate the area she kept the herbs in. She took a moment to step back and look over this fae. He had to have traveled a long way to get here, as far as she knew there wasn't anyone living in the immediate area. Maybe that was why he was so buff? Certainly he worked out to handle the trip here.

The fae relinquished the sprout so she could take a closer look at it, while he took a closer look at her.

Yup. Definitely hot. That smile certainly helped, he felt his heart give a little patter. He had to pry his silver eyes away from her to look where she pointed. FINALLY! After all this searching...

...And they belonged to her. They were within her garden area, which she was obviously tending from all the dirt on her. "Aw, shoot. I've tracked them over a day. Just my luck they were already some pae's." Flynn sighed while reaching up to rub the back of his neck. "Sorry for wastin your time ma'am."

Confused, Abby looked up to the rather handsome fae before her. "What could you possibly mean? I grow these out here for visitors." The demi stated proudly. He must not know about the well hidden just off in the distance. Venus help her, she had been excited for someone to visit the special place.

"Take all you need~ They grow pretty well here." Abby offered, trying her best to hide the mild disappointment that was blooming at the revelation he wasn't there for her well. That was just silly, right?

He should probably start heading home. Empty handed. That just stunk though. But before he could say goodbye, the female gave him a reason to stay.

For visitors? All he needed? His face lit up. "Really? That's mighty kind of you miss! Almost as sweet as you are pretty." He lifted the hand from his neck to the brim of his hat, tipping it ever so slightly in a nod. "Thank ya kindly. Names Flynn. I fancy myself a bit of a medicine pae. I travel village to village providing herbs to those who need or want it. That sprout there, as you may know, is quite the effective pain reliever when boiled."

Abby blinked for a moment, letting his compliment sink in. When was the last time someone outside of her family called her sweet? Or pretty? Venus, did he call her both? Flustered, a blush spread across her cheeks.

"N-ni-Nice to meet you Flynn." She stumbled over it for a moment. What the heck was going through her head? She was never this flustered! "I'm Abhisneha. I take care of these grounds." Play it down. He didn't need to know who she was related to. It was her well, and she was proud of it, but the title that came with it? That was sometimes a different story. But only sometimes. Why was she being shy? What?! This could be a great friend!

"This is one of many herbs and flowers. Is there anything else you're looking for while you're all the way out here?" The demi couldn't help it. Maybe he was looking to make a wish. She desperately wanted to try granting one.

Underneath the dirt, he could see the bit of blush on her cheeks. Was she not used to compliments? "Abhisneha...That's a mouthful. Pretty, but a mouthful. Might I call ya Neha for short?"

He carefully looked over at her various herbs, mentally making note of the few types he'd love to take a few of. But he didn't want to be rude or greedy. Simply wasn't right. "Well..." He looked away from the garden and back to the raven haired female. "I have been walkin a mighty far ways. Might I sit a bit in your company?" A honey sweet smile. "Been a while since I've had such a lovely companion."

Abby shook her head, looking back to the visiting Flynn. "Abby, please." She grinned, much preferring the name her aunts and uncles called her by. Maybe it was just because Neha sounded foreign to her ears. But Venus, he'd not only given her a compliment he was giving her a nickname too! The demi was still trying to stop blushing from the compliment when it registered that he was being very friendly.

"Are you hungry? It's about lunch time." The pale blue femme offered, trying not to think about that sweet smile of his. It was almost as bright as the sun. Why was she so flustered? She was a happily married woman. Happily married. Aiolos was at home, doing whatever he did at home, while she was out here being flirted with! "We'll sit in the main clearing." She grinned, thinking that maybe she could show off her precious well. Oh yes. That would be perfect.

He blinked at the correction before nodding. "Uh, alright." He made a mental note against nickname. The fae suddenly felt a bit awkward. Here he was, flirting with a girl he hardly knew when really he was there for herbs. He was way off track. He should just go, grab what he came for and make his way home before he stuck his foot in his mouth any more.

But she had just offered lunch, and it would be rude to suddenly retract his request to talk. Abhisneha was providing him with a rare herb, asking for nothing in return. And he couldn't refuse such a lovely girl with that sweet smile. "Famished ma'am. I thank ya for the hospitality."

Abby flushed, feeling the air leave her lungs. She'd almost chased him away, hadn't she? Venus help, how was he even still standing there? At least she had enough lunch for two. Or one really hungry pae. Maybe she could make up whatever offense she'd committed with a good meal?

"The light should be just at the right level.." She murmured, shifting her wings a little as she thought about it. Yes, it would be perfect inside the floral wall she was building around her well. "This way~" The demi perked up, not sure how to lead him without making it sound weird.

With another nod, the fae began to follow where she led. He began to admire all that she had done. All the various plants, carefully nourished. She was really a good gardener. "Did you do all this ma'am?" He'd just keep away from nicknames for now. Stick to miss and ma'am, seemed safer to not step on her toes.

Abby nodded, flicking her tail towards the plants she hadn't altered. "Only parts. This area... It was..." She trailed off, trying to find the right words. "It was a gift. A blessing that only needed simple tending to." Abby smiled, thinking about all the work she put into it. Every second of it was worth it. She'd been given a piece of beauty, entrusted to look over it to the best of her abilities.

"There are some plants I moved from one spot to another, either because they looked good next to something that had to be in one spot, or because they were better in the lighting." Abby explained, the herbs he was here for happened to be one of the few she didn't really need to touch. Talking about the plants around her well, it was enough to distract her from the suddenly very awkward feeling between them.
