By all accounts, it was a normal night. Sanidine had spent the past few hours in the Dark Kingdom, researching. But Evan had gotten restless, as he was want to do, and Sanidine hated the way he always seemed more bestial after spending long periods of time in Negaspace or, worse, the Rift.

When Evan had been running around the room like a lunatic, Sanidine realized they weren't going to get anything done. He couldn't focus--and when Evan had recklessly crashed head first into the desk he was working at, he knew it was time to give up for the night.

He'd taken Evan with him out on what he imagined would be a brief and uneventful stroll through Destiny City. Naturally, once Evan felt the cool, fresh air that came with being above ground, he had bolted off.

Sanidine expected it; he knew Evan's behaviors.

He expected, however, that he would have avoided the energy signatures of several Order aligned Senshi on his distant radar. Instead, Evan just seemed intent to run--right towards them.

Sanidine tailed him, casually at first, and then with more intent. He'd had to teleport twice to try and keep up with Evan, and calling him did nothing. He tried summoning the youma but he'd skittered out of reach before he'd had a chance to grab him.

Evan was small, but fast, and easy to miss. His affinity for Order Senshi would be the death of him, and despite how many had dusted him he still seemed eager to seek them out.

Perhaps he was too reckless; he didn't realize until it was too late just how powerful and how many of these senshi were. He'd only meant to peek from around the corner but failed to calculate just how much speed he'd built up. He crashed into some trashcans and came flying out in a furry black heap in front of them. Dazed, he rolled around as he tried to get up, wobbling faintly on his feet even as Sanidine called his name angrily from just out of sight.

Lysithea was walking with her friends, having just come back from yet another trip to that magical place that was their own. It was getting much cleaner now, and each time they went up there, the smell of flowers was more and more strong, more and more wonderful.

The only real issue that she could think of now was the…wand. Staff…thing. With a sigh she held out her hand, summoning it there and brandishing it. “So, really the only big thing I’ve figured out was I can only summon this when I’m with you guys, and when I think about how well we work together…it glows. Pretty, but…not useful…but I just…I just know that it can be useful…you know?”

She paused, feeling both the two chaos auras and seeing the tell tale black puffball that she knew to be Evan, come flying at them all. “Oh Evan!”
Quickly she knelt down, picking up the small youma and setting him upright, brushing some of the dust off of him. “You okay, buddy?” She was so focused on the small creature that she hardly noticed that the wand in her hand had begun to glow again, this time quite a bit brighter than before.

Evan immediately nuzzled closer to Lysithea; he seemed calmer in her arms, and though the wand she held seemed to have attracted his eye, he was more excited to chitter at her.

Adria stared, a bit confused; his eyes drifted from the youma, to Cambria, to the other girls in the Court--and then, to the very angry, very powerful General that rounded the corner after the youma.

Sanidine was seething, and Adria swallowed the lump in his throat and recoiled just slightly. He had to force the thought that there were five of them, and two of them were Super and one was an Eternal. That had him beat in numbers and rank.

"Lysithea," the General growled, stomping over. He didn't seem the least bit fazed by the group. His eyes were only on her, and the youma. "Why do you encourage him? He's going to get himself killed."

Elpis was rather relaxd as they began returning, still grinning to the others before looking to Lysithea cheerily.

"Maybe it's a magical fla-"

And then, as she prepared to crack wise, the small youma had bolted to Lysithea, and cuddled in. For all of a second, Elpis started, ready to lash, then seemed to relax again, snickering. Was this the youma she'd mentioned? He...

"No nevermind, it's a keyblade and you've called a Heartless. Good job. Good job."Elpis laughed again, before spotting Sanidine. He was... Stronger, like one of the agents she'd duelled at the castle, but his youma didn't saeem hostile, so she merely shrugged at him, deciding to give him the benefit of the doubtyt.

Fpr now.

"And we find Master Xehanort has joined us. 'Llo there. What brings you out? Aside chasing lost tiny pets, I mean?"

She was calm, even sociable, and nodded her head at Sanidine politely.

"Pleasure, by the way."

Sailor Forte had never encountered a member of the negaverse before - so she had no idea what to think of this one, aside from the fact that he felt strong, and... very not-right. The youma, in contrast, seemed almost friendly for all that it - he? - was... well. A monster. An oddly non-threatening monster, from the look of him, but still not human (anymore?). Yet for all the clearly-inhuman traits, it was less frightening than the sheer power coming from... whoever that was talking to Lysithea.

.... Damn, she was confused. And here she'd just been hoping to get to see what the not-keyblade did - instead, she was apparently getting to meet both the friend that had been... lost, and someone she wasn't certain she should be meeting, all things considered.

Though this didn't look like it was boiling over into a fight, so... what was going on?

"Um - " she started to say, then cut herself off and shook her head. Nope. Nope nope nope. Staying out of this one, at least verbally. She was more than willing to act as backup and help out with... whatever she'd be needed to do, but there was no sense in drawing any attention to herself when it wasn't necessary.

She did, however, side-eye Elpis a little because as much as she appreciated the reference was it really a good idea to joke right now????

"So whatever it is...it's basically a group effort?" Because if it could only be summoned around them...The feeling of more than one Chaos aura startled her out of her train of thought, the teenager staring at the little black fluff that had fallen in front of them, that Lysithea had picked up. Oh! That must be the youma-friend Lysi had spoken of! "He's so small and cute! I didn't know youma could be adorable..." She startled at the bigger aura, however, and the General that came with it.

Oh. She stepped a bit behind Adria, remembering the last time she had encountered a General. It hadn't been pleasant. But she waved shyly. "I...I don't think Lysi would let anyone get themselves killed. Especially not a friend."

Lysithea held Evan close to her and nodded her head at Sanidine, then held Evan up, Lion King style to show the rest of the group. “This is the youma I told you guys about, this is Evan. He was one of my friends before…uh…”

Her gaze wandered to the general and she shrugged. “Before the accident which caused him to become a youma. I’ve been working with Sanidine here,” she gestured now to the General and sighed. “But we still haven’t found any way to fix him but…”

Lysithea was staring at the wand that was still in her hand and she got a strange idea…a…a stupid idea? A wonderful idea? “Sanidine…these are my friends. This is Adria, Subra, Elpis and Forte…we…we’ve gotten very close. I think…”

She didn’t know why she said the next words she said, but when they came from her mouth, they felt right.

“I think we’ve got a way to save him now.”

Evan's ears folded low when Lysithea raised him up high; he tilted his head to the side and kicked at the air like he was trying to get higher but eventually seemed to feel too vulnerable and curled his limbs close. His tiny little tail continued to wag faintly. He seemed oblivious to the words Cambria shared; he wasn't unintelligent by any means, but it seemed like coming out of Negaspace always left him a little extra frazzled. He nuzzled the Wand, trying to scratch a spot behind his ears.

Sanidine's eyes narrowed just slightly as he looked between the group members.

"No offense, but you guys don't exactly look like the type of people I'd entrust my life to. Why should I trust you with his?"

He nodded towards Evan but hesitated and reached up to rub at his eyes.

"...No," he said after a moment. He sounded tense and tired. "Scrap that. I take it back. What I mean to ask..."

He cleared his throat and looked back up. He nodded to all of them-not quite a greeting, but acknowledge Elpis after she'd spoken to him and trying to be polite as he greeted the others.

"How do you think you can fix him? What did you find out?"

His eyes were on Lysithea; it was obvious that, of all of the group, he trusted her most. He might tolerate her allies--if they might seriously be able to help, he'd give them a chance. Even the little one.

Adria didn't quite seem comfortable; the youma Lysithea presented didn't seem threatening, but the general gave him a bit more trouble. He was paranoid, he knew it; but that sickening sense of Chaos being so close just felt smothering. It didn't matter that Sanidine barely looked at him--that his attention was solely focused on Lysithea and Evan, or that he seemed non hostile.

Adria wasn't sure he liked or trusted him.

But he liked and trusted Lysithea, so that would have to be enough.

Elpis didn't blame him for not trusting them, and the senshi nodded, hands going into her pockets as she shrugged.

"Lysithia might know? She's been experimenting with things more than I have-- can't speak for the others." She didn't address his question directly, but shifted into a less threatening stance, watching idly. She looked towards Evan, and blinked quietly. The name wasn't ringing a bell, but the small youma could easily be a family member, and very, very slowly, the senshi extended a hand and held it towards him slowly, to allow the youma to sniff. Would he claw, or bite? It was a risk, but he would be fine if he did. She knew this one had been human, and she looked to the others, one brow raising slowly.

"Guys, really? Breathe? If he planned to attack, he would."

Forte shrugged wordlessly, and moved back to stand with Subra. Much as they needed to work as a group, this wasn't really a conversation she was a part of at this point - the conversation Lysithea was having seemed mostly private, and she didn't want to butt in with a stupid comment. The little youma really was terribly friendly for a monster, and Lysithea had said he was her friend before the 'accident' (and Lysithea's hesitation made her wonder just what kind of 'accident' that could have been, but it wasn't her place to pry and it didn't really matter since the result was the same anyway: small and fuzzy and not human anymore.) Maybe Evan recognized her from before he'd been changed? That was... kind of sad, now that she thought about it. How much else did he understand, if he knew enough to recognize friends?

Still, there wasn't much she could say or do on her own, so she'd stick by the chibi senshi for now. Subra had a little more experience, sure, but she was young, and she seemed scared. She could probably use an extra body or two with her, just in case... This strange, strong whatever-he-was seemed to want to help the little youma too, but that didn't stop anyone from being afraid - or... well, maybe cautious was the better term, and the whatever-he-was - Sanidine - seemed equally so. Or maybe he just didn't like how they felt any more than she liked how he did?

There wasn't any way to know short of asking, him, and she had no intention of doing that - she didn't trust herself to say the right thing, or even a not-wrong thing. Instead, she placed a hand on Subra's shoulder, then, after hesitating a moment, did so for Adria as well. He looked just as unsure as she felt, after all. She would have tried to do so for everyone but... too many people, not enough arms - and anyway, an entirely united front may have come across as more of a threat than an offer of aid.

Forte had gotten into enough fights over her life to know that you didn't make a threat if you had no intention to follow through with it - and nobody here wanted to fight, they just wanted to help that little black, fuzzy... oddly adorable monster become a person again. So... so yeah. Threats, even apparent ones, were better left avoided.

So Lysi had been working with the General to fix her friend...okay. Okay, she could handle him, then. She took a deep breath, but didn't move from her spot. Lysithea's words surprised her...but then again, there was a lot of stuff that surprised them all that had happened over the last month or so. So really..."If anyone's found a way, it'd definitely be Lysi!" She gave the unicorn senshi a bright smile. "And whatever help you need from me, you've got it! Evan's got people who miss him, and even if he didn't...well, everyone deserves a second chance, right?"

Elpis' words made her fidget a bit, though. "I know, Elpis. And I'm trying to calm down, since Lysi knows him. Just...well, my last encounter with someone with a Chaos aura as big as his was...not good." Terrifying. Slightly traumatizing.

“Sanidine, apart from that…that one time, have I ever given you reason not to trust me?”

Lysithea placed the youma on the ground before her, scratching lightly behind his ears, and giving his forehead a gentle kiss. “Don’t you worry, Evan. We’re here to save you my friend.”

She glanced behind her looking at each of her teammates in turn. “I need your help for this, guys…this is a group effort…I need you all, more than I can say. You’re my partners.”

Her eyes warmed as she spoke the words, and when each of them had a hand on her, she drew in a breath, concentrating on her power, on their power. There was one thought going through her head, the thought of helping Evan, of bringing him back to the boy she cared so deeply about. Of having one of her best friends back by her side.

This had to work. She could feel that it would…she could.

But if it didn’t, she would be beyond devastated…

But…no. She couldn’t doubt.

This would work.

When Elpis had reached out a hand to Evan, he had sniffed--and opened his mouth and placed his teeth on her fingers but didn't seem to bite. He looked like he was trying to hold it, but the gesture was short lived as soon as everyone else started talking--and then he was sat on the ground.

He leaned back and tilted his head as he watched them move.

While Evan seemed uncertain but curious, Sanidine was doubtful and reluctant. He didn't realize what was going on until it was too late--he still had too many unanswered questions to be happy about any of this.

"I don't think this is a good idea," he challenged, but by the time he had a mind to do something about it, it was too late--they already had glowing wand pointed right at Evan.

At first, the wand didn't seem to do much but glow. Power began to swell from it and it seemed to be leaking energy. The Court was doing their part--but something was missing.

Cosmos was not an expert in this; in fact, she didn't really understand the message she received. But she understood that she needed to be there. She understood that someone was desperate and needed help.

For a moment, she could abandon her duties.

The light from the wand was bright enough that, perhaps, they didn't see her trail across the sky. Perhaps they didn't see her land behind them. Perhaps, they didn't feel her energy signature from behind them, or see her hand reach forward to help them.

It would have made sense, if they didn't.

After all, a few seconds after she arrived, they no longer had a youma in front of them: they had a human.

Cosmos might have intended to stay, but her power had waned severely. She was drained, and between duties to the Cauldron and trips to Earth, she did not have the energy she desired. She would have to trust that this Court could piece things together.

She faded from Earth as the light from the wand--the light around Evan faded.

The combined effort seemed to have been enough; Adria was holding his breath and his arm was trembling. The wand felt normal--he felt normal, if not a little tired. His heart was pounding and adrenaline was coursing through him, but he wasn't sure if he could move--if he could understand this.

Lysithea had been right.

The fluffy little youma that had been gazing up curiously had been replaced with a wide-eyed, white faced young man who stared up at them blankly. He was absolutely frozen--not moving, not breathing.

Sanidine screamed.

He should have been happy, but he'd barely seen anything; he saw a light, and then his vision went white.

And then pain.

Pure, unbridled pain. He had never felt a sensation like this--and truthfully, he couldn't think to describe it. It felt like his skin had been flayed away and the only think left was the raw, screaming nerves. It felt like his bones had all simultaneously been crushed and that his blood was searing. His heart was pounding so quickly that he wasn't sure it hadn't exploded, and his head felt like someone had set off an explosion.

Everything hurt; he clutched at his head and stumbled backwards; the scream that ripped from his throat was raw and broken. It barely sounded human.

He couldn't walk--couldn't form thoughts, or words.

Instinctively, he teleported away--and the night was left in silence.

Adria's blood had run cold at the sound; he had stared, petrified at where the General had just been. His heart was in his throat and he looked between the once-youma and the empty space before helplessly looking to Lysithea for guidace. He drew his arm back to his side, as if to hide the fact that he'd begun to shake.

Evan had not reacted to the scream. At least--it didn't seem like it. He was staring down the wand still.

He breathed in. Out. Again. Rapidly.

It seemed like he was trying to even his breathing, but nothing really helped. He was ashen--sickly. He was cold and clammy, and aside from that something just wasn't right. His body began to tremble violently and his chest heaved.

He might have been human physically but it wasn't clear what was going on in his mind; it was clear that he was hyperventilating. He was trying to process what was going on but his eyelids were already drooping and, though sitting on the ground, he seemed to be losing the strength to support himself.
