 Sign sat by himself off to the side of the playground he was just watching the other freshlings play rather bored, he didn't want to play on the monkey bars, didn't want to play tag. He was still rather grumpy after his Language arts class, Hunter's jubilee so wasn't his thing. Sign, would rather celebrate the Haunted Hallows festival than a festival about love. The Winter Solstice was ok, though. Sign sighed watching the other students running around having fun, but his mood didn't seem to be up to joining them at the moment. Sign wondered how Hazard was doing he hadn't seen his brother since they had come to this school.

x Roshan was relatively content on the swings. They liked it because it allowed them to get lost in thought and not have others interrupt them. They swung and they thought and they watched. It had the potential to be a good think at the park when Roshan noticed someone sitting by themselves a little ways away from the playground. Normally, Roshan wouldn't have bothered, but something about the character kept drawing their eye. They finally decided if they were going to stare they might as well introduce themselves. Roshan stopped the swing and made their way over to the dark freshling. Once close enough they waved. "Hi. I'm Roshan." They were a bit hesitant as to what else to say. Social stuff was sometimes a bit confusing for Roshan. Midnightglow18 Forgot to quote to say I've offered Roshan to RP with your Sign.

Sign hadn't expected anyone to come over to talk to him, he looked up he didn't want to be rude but he didn't really want to make friends either. Back to the part about not wanting to be nasty, he put on a friendly like face, that was still a little uncomfortable because Sign was in a bad mood. So his normal cloak and dagger ways were a little off. He said in a slightly gruff tone. "I'm Sign." He didn't ask the other freshling to sit down with him or ask anything about them since that wasn't really what he had been trying to do sitting near the playground in the first place. Sign, would likely have been fine on his own watching the other freshlings play. Then again perhaps he wouldn't be ok, who was he or anyone else to say when a young person was in the kind of mood Sign had been in that day. "Can I help you??" Sign forced out.

x Roshan shifted their weight, unsure if they should sit or not. The other didn't seem particularly happy for some reason or another, but Roshan was constantly being encourage by their mother to talk to other kids. I t's the only way to make friends, she had said. At Sign's question, Roshan shook their head. "No, I'm fine. I was just curious about you." Roshan decided, despite the awkward air between them, to calmly sit beside Sign. They faced out toward the playground too as if that was the normal thing to do. Roshan was content to let the conversation go quiet, but they heard their mother's voice in their head again. They sighed. "Do you like watching the others? I do. I like thinking about what their lives might be like."

Sign looked at the hybrid that came up to him Roshan and blinked curious about him, why would anyone be curious about him. Oh well. He hadn't asked for attention but he had it now. He heard the sigh Roshan had let out before asking a question perhaps they didn't really want to ask. "No, not really, I was just thinking about other things." Sign said. "Normally I wouldn't hang out by the playground." Sign said simply he wouldn't go into major depth about things unless Roshan really wanted to know. After all Sign didn't owe anyone his life story especially someone he had only just meet.

x Roshan smiled to themselves, understanding Sign. "I tend to think about other things too." Their smile dropped into embarrassment before they continued. "My mom says I think too much and I might miss out on making friends if I don't say what I'm thinking."Registering their companion's last words, Roshan turned to face Sign. "Why don'ot you normally hang around the playground? Even if I'm thinking to myself, I still find the swings fun."Midnightglow18 Sorry for the week's delay! Got quite distracted. ^w^;

Signed looked over at Roshan and said. "Well I don't have parents but yea I guess I've heard some of the caretakers say I should get out and make friends." Sign picked up a piece of grass playing with it. "I normally hang out in the music room at the academy or my dorm so I can practice playing music, it's my favorite thing to do." He said in a pretty normal tone not really soft or loud. "What about you do you have anything you like doing?" He asked to be polite mostly. Then again maybe swinging could be fun. "I guess we could go swing if you want to."

x "Grown ups seem to put a lot of effort into us making friends," Roshan said with a bit of a sigh. "Oh, the music room?" Roshan had actually barely been in that room. Not that they didn't like music, they just lacked a skill for either singing or playing an instrument. They didn't like the idea of torturing others with their clumsy attempts. "What instrument do you play?" Despite their own talents, Roshan was curious about Sign's. "I like... math." Roshan said hesitantly. They hadn't heard to many others ever say they enjoyed math, but it was truly one of Roshan's favorite classes. They loved doing the homework and looked forward to moving up in lessons. At the mention of swings, Roshan turned toward the them. "Sure. Looks like two have opened up." Roshan stood with a small smile on their face.

Sign nodded he didn't understand why the caretakers were so worried. He nodded again when Roshan mentioned the music room in the form of a question and then answered at the actual question. "I play guitar." Sign thought about math and said "I don't mind math, I wouldn't say it's my favorite thing to do ever but it's not as bad as writing about a subject I don't like." he said simply. Then he got up to follow Roshan over to the swings. Once there Sign hopped up onto one of the swings and waiting to see if Roshan could get up on their own of if they needed help.

x Roshan climbed a bit awkwardly onto their own swing before picking the conversation back up. "That's fascinating. I never knew anyone that could play an instrument. Are you any good?" Roshan wasn't sure if that question would be considered rude or not, but they figured it was honest curiosity. They didn't mean any offense by it. "Math is a lot better than having to write. I like that the numbers always equal things. There's never any confusion." Roshan nodded to themselves. They leisurely started to pump their legs to make the swing sway. Midnightglow18 Oh, geeze, nearly a month. My bad! Feel free to take your time, though.

Sign just wasn't sure what else to say, he felt uncomfortable and still grumpy. He stood up and said "Well umm I think I better go, maybe I'll see you around sometime." He said dragging his foot in the dirt, looking down. He just didn't like anyone right now. He had tried though so at least he had that to say about the situation he had tried to be a sorta friendly person. Things just weren't going Sign's way. Maybe he needed a big change to shake him out of his funk and diffrent way of viewing the world. "Bye." He said softly. (No big I've been in a rp ditch lately >.< )
