Timeline just hadn't been working out for Scylla to have taken people to her homeworld; she had meant to, but then she had gone to Celsus, and the next week she had gone to Europe, and she'd been gone almost a month... but here she was, and she had made a promise to another senshi that she was much hoping the delay would be forgiven for. She had warned Myrrha to bring a blanket when she issued the invitation to meet her here, now; it was going to be a fairly quick trip, to drop off a few things, and take a look at her planet that may well be her last.

The rooftop about 3 blocks down from her home was warm and quiet, and Scylla stared out at the stars and wondered at how much it may have changed. She had arrived from Paris almost 20 hours prior, and hadn't slept yet- Scylla would take care of her, she hoped, and not place her somewhere that she might drown. A few small bags of supplies rested at her feet- just in case this wasn't the last time she saw the White Temple, she would continue to store provisions.

Her heels clacked against the concrete roof, nervous energy vibrating through her. It was an inconvenient day for most, and short notice for others. Hopefully, Myrrha would forgive her for such a short, late introduction to Scylla. Now, all she had to do was wait for the other woman to arrive. Closing her eyes, Scylla tugged in a breath, closing her eyes, feeling the cold breeze slip through her hair, over bare arms, bare legs, and bare back.

Myrrha had honestly believed that Scylla had forgotten about her promise to show her her home world of Scylla. As she had been told Myrrha brought a small pack with essentials for the trip. Basically for essentials Myrrha had packed a few snacks that she could nibble on and also some warmer clothes. She didn't know what to expect once setting foot on another world.

She had come more prepared to wander around in the night time air and a warm coat covered her bare arms. She had opted to stick to just a coat to keep warmer than last time. Myrrha sighed as she scanned the roof top passage that she wanted to take before feeling a twinge of apprehension. As much as she wanted to go explore another planet there was also fear. What would she do after this? Would it enable her to be able to visit her own world?

Shaking her head Myrrha sighed and trekked further along. It took a further ten minutes before she reached the meeting point she had been notified of. Feeling butterflies in her stomach Myrrha moved into sight and called out to the figure in the distance. As she closed the remaining distance between herself and the eternal senshi Myrrha caught her breath and placed her pack on the ground. "Sorry I'm late Scylla. I got detained a bit at home."

Myrrha's arrival was heralded by the oncoming sensation of an Order signature coming her way with purpose. Better Order than Chaos! Scylla waited patiently as it moved closer and closer, and at last into visual range. Scylla lifted one hand in a wave, eyes crinkling at the corners from greeting. Myrrha seemed a bit flustered, and Scylla shook her head in an easy attempt to reassure the other woman that she had done nothing wrong.

"You're what, about ten minutes late?" she asked with a grin, "Where as here I am about a month late and I didn't even bring Starbucks. I'm going to say you're fine." More than fine- the other senshi had listened to her, and seemed to be coming prepared. Hopefully, Scylla would cooperate. She wasn't much feeling one last swim before she got murdered.

"I was figuring I'd give you a quick cliffs notes version of how I do it before we go, unless you've already gone to your home-world. I apologize- just got back from about a month long trip for business and I'm running a bit on empty, but I made you a promise, and wanted to finally keep it. You've been patient- I appreciate it, Myrrha."

Myrrha returned Scylla's grin with a tentative smile. At least she hadn't kept Scylla waiting too long then. She knelt to the ground and rooted around in her bag before pulling at a bottle of water. Opening the top with a twist of her wrist the senshi downed about half the bottle before dropping it back into her bag. Myrrha chuckled softly. "I'm also going to say it is fine on the wait. Starbucks could have easily been forgotten and that is actually okay with me." Myrrha paused and gently shook her head in response to Scylla's prompted query. "I've still not yet gone to my home world. I was waiting on this trip first before I worked up the courage to visit Myrrha. Anything that you can clue me into would be extremely helpful."

Myrrha grabbed her bag and hoisted it onto her back and she took out her phone. Something told her she would be needing it and soon. "I'm ready to go when you are."

Myrrha opened her bottle of water, and Scylla was reminded that she really, really would prefer her planet not dump them in the middle of the ocean again. There might not be anything she could see in the depths yet, but getting a fellow senshi eaten or drowned was not something she wanted to risk happening. "I've been going fairly regularly for a while. When you first go to Myrrha it may be a bit.... ruined. But with love and a little TLC, it heals up. Quite a lot, actually. It and I have been coming to an understanding."

She reached out her hand and took hold of Myrrha's hand, giving her a smile. "Hold on tight to your stuff," she warned her, and pulled out her phone. Closed her eyes, focusing. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Put us somewhere mannerly, okay? Don't be rude to the guests. I'm coming home.

It only took a breath in and a breath out, and then the world shifted from winter cold to Scyllan warmth, the scent of salt, the sound of water, the feel of water on her toes, and the light-

Neon.

Scylla opened her eyes to the bioluminescent glow of her world. In the distance, the World Pillar a beacon, coral branches spread out Yggdrasil of old. Above them, hovering islands with glowing, dripping vines; at their feet the shimmer of grass, and as she turned, the White Temple gleaming in the dark.

Myrrha didn't know what she had been expecting when it came to the "actual" travelling portion of the trip. She had closed her eyes and thought that the trip would be something straight out of Stargate or Contact but in reality it had been nothing like that. At first Myrrha was afraid to open her clenched eyes. The gentle sound of water lapping at the shore and just the difference in atmospheric temperature had the teen almost ready to admit that she had indeed made it alongside Scylla to her home world. The last selling point was the lack of smell of city life. Here as she inhaled deeply Myrrha could only sniff out the tangible scent of salt water.

With that observation made Myrrha's eyes opened and went as wide as saucers as she took in all the features on the distant horizon and even the bio-luminescence that was found all around. A soft exclamation was made before Myrrha turned to Scylla. "This is amazing."

Perhaps she was speaking too soon but for now that is how Myrrha felt. This was different from Celsus's library and even the Moon. This was Scylla's world. Opening her clenched fist to relax the grip she held on her phone Myrrha looked at it sceptically before holding it out to Scylla, "How did you do this?"

Scylla inhaled and exhaled deeply, smelling the sea at her back, feeling the sand under her heels, and lifting one foot then the other to tug off golden sandals and sink narrow feet into soft sand. She chucked the shoes thoughtlessly in a general direction- she wouldn't need them when she powered down on her return to Destiny City, and the location where she had met Myrrha was close enough to a safe place to power down that if she couldn't find them later, it wasn't a big deal. They would vanish when she did, anyhow. Once they had even gotten chucked off-planet with her, landing at her side when she returned. And always, when she powered up, they were back on her feet. Magical shoes best shoes.

This was home, and Scylla tilted her head back to let the warmth seep into her bones inch by inch, eyes closed against only vaguely-remembered constellations of tree branches and glowing pinpoints of the sky beyond the coral, against the shimmering vines and floating islands that blotted out pieces of the stars. Myrrha's exclamation almost startled her, but Scylla composed herself as she lifted her head to smile.

"Of the places I've been, Scylla is my favorite," she told Myrrha with a grin, opening purple eyes to consider the other senshi; "I'm sure a lot of senshi say that about their homeworlds though. This is where our magic comes from. This was our home, once."

The phone held out to her, Scylla took in hand, considering it to try and identify which style of phone Myrrha had. Carefully, she pointed to the appropriate button. "As you get stronger, you'll be able to visit more often. I can visit once a week, but some can come more frequently. Just make sure you're someplace solid- I wouldn't recommend trying to go to your homeworld during a transatlantic plane trip, for example. You return to the place you leave from. I'm not sure how literal that is."

Myrrha had been busy staring around at things and then turned back in time to catch Scylla chucking off her shoes. Realizing that that the temperature was warmer than it had been back in Destiny City Myrrha gently removed her coat and allowed the air to caress her now bare arms. The senshi of scents glanced back to her phone and found the button that would allow her to travel to her own world. Listening carefully now to Scylla as she explained how often she was able to travel home. 'I guess that means that I would not be able to go as frequent. I think the primer had something on this.'

Taking a moment Myrrha adjusted her grip on her phone and hoped she wasn't overstepping but she quickly turned to face the water's edge and snapped a quick photo. Everything around her spoke to the fact that this wasn't a dream but Myrrha wanted tangible proof. The fact hadn't escaped her when Scylla had mentioned that her home would most likely be in ruins when she first visited. That was a disheartening thought. Although with TLC maybe it could look like this.

Inhaling deeply Myrrha moved to stand near Scylla once more. "How many visits did it take for your world to come to look like this? I am just blown away by your world."

The air was crisp and salty, clean; there was no trace of smog here, and in the glowing darkness, Scylla inhaled deeply, sending a huge mental thank you to whatever magic controlled their landing. Goodness knew it wasn't her; this was the dryest landing she'd had in a while. Even still, they had landed in sight of the World Pillar, still watching her accusingly.

Myrrha was taking a picture, and Scylla dropped into the soft faintly glowing white sand, looking around her and trying to consider what Myrrha was seeing. Darkness, shimmering coral, the waters empty of life but still a shining beacon in the dark. Behind them, dunes of sand, topped in the distance with a massive temple spiraled atop a massive mountain of sand. Lit even now with braziers of Everflame.

Hands in her hair, massaging her scalp, a soft feminine laugh. The light shining on the water, and a soft contented sigh. "don't let Solon go too far," she told someone, and Briseis moved past her, chasing a child down the beach. Behind her, a masculine laugh.

"My son."

"Our son."

"My wife."

"My husband."

Another faint laugh, hands tightening and pressing out a knot in her neck, and then-

How many visits did it take for your world to come to look like this?

Scylla opened her life to the lonely present, and considered the other senshi's question. "I've been a senshi for a long time," she said wryly, "And I visit a lot. Even when I travel overseas, a quick 30 seconds on earth gets me here, and when I power down, the magic boots me. Low risk, and after so long... great reward. Best vacation spot."

There was still so much to fix, and so many changes that could be made. So much missing life to one day replenish.

Putting her phone away Myrrha shuffled around feeling the sand shift under her shoes as she continued to take in all that was on display in her vision. In the back of her mind she considered what her world what look like. She had been curious about her senshi namesake. It was strange to think that somewhere out in space was the asteroid that was her ancient home. Myrrha dropped down next to Scylla with a small sigh.

"I know I've said this already but thank you for bringing me to your homeworld Scylla. This might be the push I need to visit my own home. I am admitting to myself right that I've been too nervous to go."

The senshi of scents inhaled deeply of the salty air with a wistful smile. "This is definitely something I've never experienced."

Myrrha dropped down next to her, and Scylla gave the other woman a lazy smile in the darkness, wondering if Myrrha's eyes had adjusted enough to the bio-luminescence to make it out. This place was her home, more than any beach in the Bahamas, more than any moonlight swim on a familiar shore. This place, this world, growing stronger with every trip she made here but still so weak and hungry for her presence and the chance to grow...

"You're welcome," Scylla said with a smile, and gestured to the waves, to the shapes hovering over their heads, towards the stalk of glowing coral in the distance, pulsing with light like a heartbeat. "It isn't easy to see in the darkness, perhaps, even with all the light. Makes me think of one of those movies, you know, where everything is a little too much, a little too alien?" She was terrible at predicting the day/night cycle yet, but...

"It isn't bad to be nervous. It's a home you don't remember yet.You don't know what you'll see, what you'll find. I'll be honest, my planet isn't all.... this. There are things here, that..."

Andromache's body, that future denied. Her burial rites, waiting a thousand years, for Jada.

"If you want to go for a swim, you can," she offered with a smile. "Nothing in the water, that I've seen."

Not alive, anyways.

Myrrha had just barely caught Scylla's smile as she replied with "you're welcome" to her comment. The teen was still turning her head this way and that. However she came to finally realize that nothing would suddenly a) disappear or b) jump out at her. At least she was hoping nothing of the latter sort would happen. Watching the coral in the distance pulse gently Myrrha allowed herself to relax just a little more.

It was surreal just knowing that she was somewhere in space and there was seemingly no need for protective suits or anything. It was an odd thought that struck Myrrha as she continued to sit beside Scylla. How did one stay safe? Was it more senshi magical powers? Shaking her head and dismissing the thought for now Myrrha stretched her back and glanced towards the water that actually looking fairly inviting. She wasn't a strong swimmer but surely since this was an ocean she'd be able to float with relative ease.

"The offer is tempting for a small swim. I brought a towel but not really a suit or anything. I guess I could just wade around like this and attempt to dry off afterwards."

Myrrha pushed herself to her feet. Might as well make the most of the time spent here. Myrrha glanced back over her shoulder towards the older senshi, "I am curious, is there a time limit on how long these trips last or do you decide when you want to return home?"

The sound of her world was relaxing- silence, mostly, the flicker of waves on the shore and the stillness in the air that permeated everything. Stillness that was like the eye of a storm, like there was something that could be there, but wasn't yet, building over the horizon. There had never been a storm on Scylla since she'd been here, though, so she doubted there would be one now.

She could feel her eyes beginning to close, relaxing into the rhythm of the water, warm and beating like a heartbeat- that belonging to a planet. Let it happen, the stress and tension building in her shoulders slipping away, at least for these few minutes. By this time tomorrow, if things went poorly... this could be her last time here, on Scylla. Too bad it couldn't be longer. Pedicured toes squished into the sands, and the woman took a deep breath of Scyllan air, trying to commit it to memory. If not death, it could always be corruption. If she was going to lose who she was, there were some things she still wanted to remember.

"You'll dry pretty quickly, I think. I usually did, minus my hair. The fuku seemed to take care of itself. You can leave your cell phone with me, if you want; I'm not exactly sure how waterproof they are."

Myrrha's question surprised her, and she considered carefully. "I've never been kicked off the planet. I've slept here and everything. I think there are some senshi who have lived on their planets for.... too long." Three years or more? Long enough for his hair to go white. "No time limits other than the ones I needed to set for today's little venture." After so long overseas, and facing her potential death... she had a lot to get organized.

Myrrha had been holding her phone above the water as she had walked to and fro in the shallows. Hearing what Scylla had been saying about leaving her phone on the beach made sense and she exited the water to do as the older senshi had mentioned. As she dropped her cell on top of the bag she had brought Myrrha caught Scylla's reply to her earlier query about how long one could stay on their planet. It was interesting then that it was the senshi who decided when to leave. Filing that bit of information away for later Myrrha glanced back towards the water and gazed out at the distance. All this question and answer period was slowly building her determination to at least visit her past home at least once or twice. It was strange to think that her past self was from somewhere else in the galaxy.

Putting a traction on that thought Myrrha returned to the water and slowly moved into a more suitable depth to be able to swim more freely. A couple of strokes into her practiced rhythm had the teen glancing back towards the beach and to the senshi that rested there. Scylla seemed totally at ease just lying on the sand. Was Myrrha anything like this? There probably wasn't anything like an ocean on an asteroid and as she traversed a small distance back and forth Myrrha realized that potentially maybe things had been different in the past. There was still trepidation in her head about what awaited her on her first visit home. Would anything spark a feeling of familiarity?

Treading water now Myrrha's thoughts turned introspective. At least for now she had someone who she could bounce questions off of. Inhaling the Scyllan air as she stayed afloat Myrrha turned around in a circle. Her gaze took in everything that was visible. The courage to visit her homeworld and at least make an attempt to figure out where she came from was building deep inside. She would make the effort to go alone at first. If that didn't work surely she could ask a friend to come along. As the decision was made the scents senshi moved towards shallower water and finally exited the ocean. She moved to fetch her towel and placed it on the beach next to Scylla. "Thank you for everything."

It was peaceful, even with the turmoil in her mind, and Jada let herself fade into the noise, the crash of ocean, uninterrupted by the ever-present hum of man-made electricity, of static, of something busy lurking just on the edge of what could be heard. Instead there was only the presence, and the flickers of memory that echoed around- things she had known, once, but might never remember properly. Who a certain laugh belonged to, which face went with the name of each of her wives, who it was who called her name in that affectionate, desperate whisper lurking just around the corner. A secret, just waiting.

Time was something irrelevant, even though she knew there was an alarm set up on her phone that would tell her when she was nearing the end of what she could spare. Instead, she lay back and tried to meditate, or clear her mind, or just... void the busy anxiety eating at the corner of her awareness. Some of her attention was on her guest, of course, in case something went wrong- her planet seemed to be ever-surprising. She hoped there was nothing alive besides the flora- she supposed if she ever found out it would be too late for everyone. But for the most part she rested in stillness, waggling her toes into the water.

"I didn't do much," she replied with a smile, pulling open her eyes to look over at the other senshi; "I'm just sorry I made you wait so long before I finally brought you. I hate it when I can't keep a promise." Scylla straightened herself up, listening to her spine snap-crackle-pop as she got upright. "But you're welcome. I like to help out where I can, and I know the idea of intergalactic travel is... a daunting one."
