Bio: Hiro's journey begins with his father, a strong man from the fire kingdom well known for his ruthlessness in combat. This man never got the chance to fight in a full blown out war, given the unsteady peace between kingdoms, but he more then managed to show off his physical prowess during short military missions inside of the fire kingdom. After all, there was always someone wanting to start up trouble, and Hiro's father was the one who always seemed to step up to knock them down.
After a few years of service however it seemed that Hiro's father was tired of his life on the battlefield, and retired from this life. Instead, Hiro's father decided he wanted to explore the Kingdom he had protected, and so he began his single manned journey around the Fire Kingdom. He traveled for years, visiting every small village and interesting sight around the Kingdom, but something caused his journey to end very abruptly. A beautiful woman with shining gold eyes and crimson red hair caught his attention. She lived alone, far off in one of the many lava stone ranges that characterized the more inhospitable places in the Fire Kingdom. And his father was blown away. He wondered how such a beautiful woman managed to survive out in such an inhospitable place. She didn't look worn down or exhausted by the constant heat, but also didn't look as if she had had any sort of training to survive in such a place. And so Hiro's father stayed with the woman, wanting to learn her secrets to survival.
It took two more years for his father to find out the true reason, and it was a shocking one to say the least. This woman was a Phoenix, an extremely rare species who had a myriad of interesting qualities that made living in such an inhospitable place so simple.
Now, needless to say Hiro's father and the Phoenix had grown quite the relationship over the years they had spent together, and it wasn't long after this discovery that they had a child, but thats when things grew...difficult.
Hiro was born to the Phoenix and his father on one of the hottest days of the year, but there happiness would only last for so long. Hiro was not a full blooded Phoenix, and without the years of training his father had to survive in such an environment it seemed that Hiro would not last long here, and so the couple had to make a hard decision. Hiro's father would take Hiro back to Pyrus where he could survive, and when he would grow old enough to survive in such a place he would be returned to his mother. But this plan fell through.
When Hiro reached the age of 12 his father died in a freak mining accident. He had been told stories of his mother, but without a set location of where she was it seemed no one wanted to take the risk of taking this child out to find his mother. And so Hiro the kid had to find a way to keep himself alive long enough until he too could take the journey. And that meant Hiro needed to find a job.
And this is where Hiro's love of cooking really came from. He got a job cleaning up at the Lava Pit Grill. He held this job until the age of 14, and thats when he finally got his chance. The cook at the time had decided that he had had enough, and quit his job, leaving the Grill without a cook on one of the busiest nights of the week. And so, not wanting to lose too much money, Hiro's boss threw him into the position, and it just came naturally. Hiro was able to make every item that was ordered with incredible easy, but thats not all. In that one night Hiro had actually managed to improve a majority of the Lava Pit's menu, raising the quality of the food without even breaking a sweat. And so Hiro worked as head chef for the grill for the remainder of his time at the grill.
Hiro turned 17 and that was when his time at the Grill ended. Hiro had decided it was time for him to finally take the journey to meet his mother, the Phoenix woman he had heard so much about before his father's untimely demise. And so with minimal preparation Hiro set out on the journey to the same lava fields that his father had traveled to many years ago. And after a few months he had found them, and the very place that his mother had called home. But his mother was no where to be found.
Hiro entered the home and found a few things. The first, most obvious find, was a pile of ash that laid untouched on the floor. The next was a note that had been scratched into the surface of a stone counter with a small stone box sitting next to it. The note was for Hiro, from his mother. It explained that she had waited for him as long as she could, but that if he was reading this note it meant that it was time for her life to start over yet again. She explained that the pile of ashes he would find somewhere in the home were indeed his mother, but that he shouldn't be concerned for her. She would rise from the ashes one day, and from that day her one and only goal would be to find her son. But until then, she had decided to bestow two gifts upon him that both laid inside of the stone box. The first was a knife, a wonderfully ornate blade with a golden Phoenix on the sheath. She said it was a weapon she had meant to give his father, but she never got the chance to finish it before he left with Hiro, and so she would give it to him instead. She explained that she did not craft the knife to only be used for one purpose, but instead to be a knife that would help Hiro master the skills he would need to survive. Cooking, and combat. Hiro's mother also explained the knife's special ability, that the user could focus there fire energy into the blade and super heat the metal without taking the chance of melting the blade.
The second item however, was much more important to Hiro. It was a golden phoenix feather, one from his mother. His mother explained that Hiro would need to take the feather, place it on his back, and then burn it against his skin. The act of doing this would connect his body with his mother's, and allow her to find him even after her rebirth. Hiro followed these directions, and this act is exactly what created the ornate tattoo on his back.
The last section of the note explained all of the unknowns around Hiro's life. His mother did not know what he would get from her Phoenix blood, given his father's human blood, but did her best to comfort him with the knowledge that she would do all she could to help him once she returned. And so Hiro gathered his mother's ashes and moved them to the safest place he could find inside of her home before scratching a note of his own. It simple said thank you, and that Hiro couldn't wait to finally meet his mother when she finally returned. And with that Hiro left the home. And with nothing tying him down anywhere Hiro travels the realm, trying to find activities to pass the time while he waits for his mothers eventual return.
Personality: Hiro is an extremely laid back individual. After all, spending the majority of your life waiting and cooking tends to do that to you. But that doesn't mean he doesn't take his career seriously. Hiro loves being a chef, and is very professional about his work. He puts all of his effort into cooking, and is usually more then happy to prepare a meal for those who would like it. Normally, the young man doesn't request payment from those he meets on the road, but if he feels forced or threatened into cooking Hiro will often request a decent price for his services.
This brings us to the next aspect of his personality, his confidence. Hiro knows his skills in the kitchen, and because of this he doesn't take too kindly to rudeness. That being said, Hiro isn't a fan of conflict, and so he would much rather annoy the typical rude customer rather then fight them. The only time Hiro feels the need to participate in combat is when he must protect himself or an innocent individual.
Hiro tends to deal with everyone in the same way. If they treat him kindly and with respect, he will treat them as a friend. If they don't, Hiro won't think twice about turning his back on them. That being said, Hiro will always try to start an interaction with someone on friendly terms, even if they come off as threatening.

Powers: Molten Blade: Hiro's Family Knife has been crafted specifically for this ability. When Hiro focuses his fire into the blade it can withstand temperatures that are incredibly hot. This allows Hiro to super heat the blade without it deforming. This is useful in combat due to the heat of the blade making slices and burns, but is also very useful in cooking with particularly difficult ingredients. (If this ability is used on any other metal object it will melt, including other weapons)
Advanced Fire Manipulation: This ability simply explains how well Hiro can control fire in general. Hiro can bend flames to his will with great skill, but this ability is rarely taken advantage of in combat. More often Hiro will use this ability to adjust the temperature of the flames he is using to cook or shape the flames in such a way to "caress the food". This allows him to cook items quickly and perfectly without much effort.
Charbroil: Hiro's most powerful combat ability, Charbroil is something Hiro wouldn't dare use in the kitchen, but is instead an ability he may use against a group of enemies. Hiro focuses the fire burning inside of him and uses it to heat the air around him. After a few seconds of heating the air around him becomes extremely uncomfortable and dry, allowing him to use the second part of the ability. Hiro shoots out a ring of fire that is expelled from his body in all horizontal directions. The flames are incredibly hot and can do some serious damage if not dodged by laying flat on the ground or flying up into the air. This ability can be interrupted during his charging phase, but it can be hard to recognize he is charging given the only sign is the hot air.
Golden Flame: Hiro's ultimate cooking ability, he takes advantage of his Phoenix half, focusing the energy of the golden Phoenix inside of him to create a golden flame. This flame does not need fuel to burn, and can persist in any environment, even underwater. The catch is this flame can do no damage to anything or anyone. The only thing this ability is good for is enhancing the flavor of any food item cooked on it ten fold. This ability does cost a decent amount of energy for Hiro to cast, and so he only really uses it on special occasions.
Golden Rebirth: While Hiro is only half Phoenix, he did inherit a method of healing himself. Hiro can use all of his energy to create a shell around his body out of his golden flame. The flame still does no damage to anyone who touches it, but it instead acts as a barrier to keep others out. While inside of the egg the golden flame heals injuries that Hiro has sustained. This ability could technically be used on another person, but it would require them to be stuck in a rather cramped space for an extended period of time due to the fact that the egg continues to persist until the injuries are fully healed. After a full heal the flames fade back into Hiro and he can begin to regain his energy once more.
Weapon of choice: Goldenflame Family Knife (This knife is used for both combat and cooking, but not to worry, Hiro keeps the knife clean at all times.)
Strengths: (At least 3)
- Cooking
- Agile
- Efficient with a knife
- Has a naturally strong connection with fire
- Patient
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- Ranged Combat
- Water
- Critics
Fighting Style: Hiro mostly relies on his Goldenflame knife for combat, but tends to mix in some fire abilities as well.
