The journey of Surtr and Kami still continues, but it's become complicated. The Archmage and Battle mage will have to see if they are battle ready. From the college, to the Grand Library, to the brothel, and back, are they fireproof?

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
Dark wings dark words, if the saying was true then dark words awaited as the archmage stepped through the doors of the grand library. He immediately strode to the back heading right over to the restricted section of the library and drawing out a very old dusty tomb from within. Returning he sat down at a table and opened the pages. They were blank? A strange occurrence considering the mans eyes were moving across the pages as if words were there. A spell perhaps? Something to keep prying eyes from seeing? One couldn't be sure, but regardless Surtr must have been reading something important as he didn't bother looking about or saying hello to the staff whatever those pages contained (if anything) was imperative to the thoughts currently running through the mages head.
...and to the dust we shall return...

Kami Sylvester Standing outside of the building, Kami was eager. The professor at the college had given her a reading list. They dealt with powers of the subconscious mind, immunity, and self-awareness. Walking into the grand library, she floated among the stacks of books. Not willing to come down and read, she made her stack of books float and read up high. Laying on her back, using the air as her mattress, the young mage got started on her studies.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
As Surtr delved into the blank pages before him his light suddenly dimmed. Letting out a grumble he looked up to see who else? Kami.... Was she following him? More importantly why was she up there and directly above him blocking his light? With a sigh he flicked his left index finger which would gently push the young mage a few meters to her right so that his light was no longer obscured. After a soft smile he nodded his head and those lavender eyes returned to the task at hand judiciously pouring over the blank parchments.

Kami Sylvester Not even knowing it, she was floating above her "companion". No she was not following him, and she didn't have a clue, he was there. That all changed with a simply push. Frowning at bit as to who would be so rude, she looked down and sighed. Of course it would be him. She would not let him ruffle her feathers or distract her. That was why she was floating above. To not be bothered. Going back to her book, she would ignore his little shove.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
Surtr continued to read his book while she was reading hers. The information inside was more pressing then their little quarrel. She seemed to not retaliate rather uncharacteristic, though he supposed perhaps she was just preoccupied with the pages before him. Surtr couldn't really blame her he too was focused on the parchment. So long as she wasn't interfering with his studies he would not interfere with hers.

Kami Sylvester Surtr thought wrong if he thought Kami was going to let him completely get away with his act. On purpose, she allowed the book she was reading to land on Surtr's head, using him as a podium, she balanced the book upon his head and continue reading with a smirk on her lips. Now she was floating right behind him and getting a good silent laugh out of it.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
As the book landed upon his head the Archmage did not flinch or move what so ever. Seeing the shadow above him grow he could tell exactly what was going on. She wished to play dirty? Fine two could play that little game. Surtr merely continued to read his empty pages a devious smirk upon his lips growing. The corner of her skirt would begin to smoke. Not immediately catching fire Surtr giving the girls a few moments of warning to cease her little behavior before it happened but if she was enjoying her move too much she'd likely miss it and that skirt would catch fire. The archmage warned her the first day they met about playing with fire and it seemed now he was reminding her of that.

Kami Sylvester Everything seemed to be okay until she smelt something burning. Looking at her skirt, she quickly out it out before it catch a blaze. Taking the book of his head, the games of tit for tat had begun. Looking around, she spotted a cup of water. Using her telekinesis, she picked it up and poured it on Surtr's head. Upon above him, she was clinching her tummy and fluffing her laughter. A blush had also risen to her cheeks for he was very scrumptious with his dark hair wet.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
He could smell the smoke and chuckled softly to himself as suddenly water poured down atop him. It hit his feathers and threatened to drip on his books before suddenly the drops stopped. They slipped from his plumage pooling above Surtr a rather impressive display of his power being able to pull water from hair and feathers without damaging them. Before Kami would be able to react the water would whip up onto kami soaking her whole front from her thighs up to her neck. "Why so wet?" He said not even bothering to look up at her. If memory served he had said something similar to her in that past. Knowing she had a bit of a dirty mind Surtr surmised she would get the context well enough. Their antics were getting louder and mages weren't supposed to float in the grand library anyway. If Kami continued she'd likely get her or even worse the duo kicked out.

Kami Sylvester Kami's laughter was cut short when she found herself drenched in water. Then a familiar line from their past put a soft smile upon her lips. Coming down, bringing her books with her, she sat across from him. Using her body to generate heat, she dried off fairly quickly. Going back to her reading, she whispered, "I believe there is something else I would rather be wet." The memory had not escaped her. It created a small peg in her chest, but she wouldn't let it show.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
Her words brought a smirk to his lips. It seemed despite being upset with him she couldn't uphold such a thing for so long. Though that smirk soon faded. She was flirting again just before, which meant she would eventually try to be his everything again. Surtr couldn't have that. He couldn't let more pain come to her. He wouldn't actually. He refused to allow her to experience such anguish. He finished his book and closed it before turning his attention to Kami.
"Let me be clear, I don't intend for you to experience such pain again.." He whispered his lavender eyes piercing into her very being as he spoke. "My heart may be back in its proper place but it will not be given to anyone anytime soon. So while we may continue this playful back and forth I am your superior and indirectly your teacher...... Nothing more." He said before picking up the book and walking back to its shelf to put the book away. The walk was rather long plenty time for Kami to get up and leave should she so choose. Surtr pulled out another and began his walk back, he had done it. He had made sure to keep her at arms length so that history could not repeat itself.

Kami Sylvester That is exactly what happened. In a flash, all of Kami's books had reshelf themselves. Before, he could come back, she was gone like the wind.
It may have been the middle of the day, but Kami found herself at the brothel. She had done knocked back a few shots of tequila before she couldn't tell if was her tears or tears from the alcohol burning. Everything was a blurry to her for she was finally having her break down.

¤ Surtr ¤ ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
Surtr walked into the bar determined to get a drink to rid himself of what he he had to do earlier in the day. Upon opening and closing the door Surtr sat at the first open seat ordering a glass of mead. As it came he glanced about before taking a sip but suddenly froze in place. "What the s**t...." He mused sighing before setting the cup down and running his hand through his hair. How the hell could his luck be any worse? He looked to her and could see the tears on her face. Would going to her make it worse?
He sighed before he thought something may make her feel better. Suddenly a little flaming man would walk down the bar and lean against her shot glass looking at her. The difference this time was that the petite man made of fire was black. This was Surtrs best shot and he knew it could just as willingly blow backward on him and blow up in his face.

Kami Sylvester Having slowed down with the shots and trying to gather her thoughts. She didn't noticed that Surtr had entered the brothel. Kami had never been one to show weakness or vulnerability, but that is all she felt right now. She was an open book and you could read the pages. She was hurting and badly.
Debating another shot, she looked at the little flame leaning on her glass. A small smile played on her lips, but it didn't reach her eyes for it sent a wave of pain through her. Kami couldn't even bring herself to look down the bar at him.
Asking the barkeeper for a bottle of tequila, she got up from her seat. The aching wasn't allowing her to stay in the same space with him. She left the glass and made her way to the exit. The tears had not stopped and she refused to left him in. He was going to keep her at a distance, she wanted to respect his wishes.
