His own thoughts were still reeling after running into Lysander earlier that day. He could talk them over with someone, certainly, but that wouldn't change anything. No one other than Lysander had really known much about their relationship-- Not because he'd wanted to hide it. No, he hadn't cared who knew... He didn't think he had, at least... But it had been new and he hadn't wanted to taint it by involving everyone they knew before they could figure it out on their own. Then he'd left...

The throbbing at his temples came back as he tried to push further than that, wanting to remember what had happened, to confirm anything that the other man had said earlier. He didn't doubt it-- They'd been young and he'd been a mess.

Shaking his head, Arin had called upon the power of his wonder to transform into Mag Mell, heading out into the night to see if he could find a better distraction as a Knight of Cosmos than he could as a man of Destiny City.

Mag Mell had paused for the evening in an area he didn't often visit. He thought the change of pace might bring with it a chance of the usual characters, so when he heard a familiar voice he simply shook his head before glancing over his shoulder.

"If you'd wanted to meet tonight you could have had Charlotte write something in her web for me, Arachne, instead of simply relying on chance... I'm not much of a gambling man unless it's a game I know I can win." Across the street from the store that Arachne had been perched upon was a small retention pond and that was where Mag Mell stood, stone in hand that he soon tossed to skip across the surface of the water.

"It's not that hard, if you want to give it a try." He stooped down, picking up another handful of pebbles. He dropped a couple of them that didn't have the right shape before holding one out to the other man. "It's amazing how relaxing it can be, actually-- You get to throw something and watch how it effects everything else around it without really doing any damage."

"C'mon." He continued to hold the pebble out to the senshi, giving him an expectant look as though he wasn't about to let him say 'no' to the idea. Talking while skipping stones only worked with two people if they were both doing it. That was simply the way things were.

"You're sounding rather defeatist, you know. Not at all like the overconfident senshi I last crossed paths with that looked a lot like you-- Actually, I think it might have been you." A light smirk touched his lips, his own eyes seeming tired despite the banter. "Long day?"

"Try it again. This time give it a little bit of a sideways toss so it lands on its flat side and hops a little better." He held another stone out to the senshi, waiting for Arachne to take it from him before demonstrating what he meant with another toss of his own. His own stone skipped across the surface of the water again, starting three sets of ripples in a chain before disappearing beneath the water.

"You want to talk about it? Might not know a whole lot about whatever it is you might be going through, but I can at least listen."

"Little hard to find retail therapy around this time of night, though, unless you're one of those guys who prefers online shopping to hands on." The Cosmos knight flashed a grin at the senshi of spiders, the expression fading at the other man's words.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Arachne." His voice softened with the words he spoke, a nagging sense of deja vous prickling along his skin. He skipped his last stone across the surface of the water before dusting his hands off on the front of his pants, looking to the senshi after. "Casualty of the war or a civilian?"

"You said the two of you were close, but you had to look him up on Facebook? Something happen?" He kept his eyes on the Senshi of Spiders for a moment longer before stooping down to pick up another handful of pebbles. As he stood he let them sift through his fingers, falling back to the ground with little ticks, clacks and patters.

With his memory as hazy as it had been, and the lack of attention that he had been paying to local events, the Cosmos Knight couldn't recall any recent 'attacks' that had been reported. He remembered something about a music festival... 'Terrorists' had been blamed for that, hadn't they? Other things had happened over the course of the year that had passed since...

"When did it happen?"
