Earth. Very few would be able to tell a great and terrible war took place on this now-peaceful planet, but some gems knew. It was common knowledge for them.

Clear Quartz knew all too well, as he sat on the warm sand on a beach. Not the one near where the core Crystal Gems resided, but one far removed from a human settlement, a warp pad not very far away. He sat and contemplated the scenery, the smell of the ocean, and smiled a little bit. What a beatiful planet.

"Hm?" Clear was taken by surprise when he heard and saw the other gem, and it showed in his expression. A new gem? Was she a threat? She didn't look like one, though. So, he decided to find out and gave a warm, genuine smile that was at odds with his monotone, expressionless voice, "hello."

Clear was a bit surprised that she went in for a hug, but stood up to accept it regardless and smiled, then shook her hand, "pleasure to meet you. I'm Clear Quartz, most call me Clear. Are you new to Earth?"

Clear smiled, happy that someone was so friendly, as most gems and humans (especially humans) alike were unnerved by his voice and the way his eyes never seemed to focus, "well, Earth is a large planet, so it would be difficult to show you all of it without spending hundreds of years doing so, but I can see what I can do. It's a very nice planet, inhabited mostly by these sentient creatures called humans. Do you know of the Rebellion that happened here thousands of years ago?" He doubted it from how little she seemed to know, and from how she literally dropped in from the sky, but he was curious enough to ask.

He would've given a light laugh if his voice was capable of it, "well, there aren't too many gems left on Earth, save for a few of Rose's soldiers, like me. I changed sides towards the end of the war after my gem was broken."

Clear waved his transparent hand dismissively, "it's okay, I don't hold any grudges. War causes good beings to do bad things, that's just how it happens," He shrugged, "But yes, humans are still around and thriving. They've gotten smarter since the war, and have more advanced technology. They're pretty used to gems, too, so we don't stand out too much."

Clear smiled, "you'll like Earth a lot, then. It's a very beautiful planet. Rose was right to want to protect it."

"Of course," he gladly took it and started towards the nearest human settlement which was quite a long distance away, "I was broken in the middle of the war. I was assigned to be a bodyguard for a pair of sharpshooters, an Obsidian and a Stibnite, along with a couple of other gems. During one mission though... I can't remember a lot of it, but all I do remember is my gem was struck and I lost my physical form. The leader of the Rebellion, Rose Quartz, and her very beautiful Pearl," he paused a little and his face flushed gray, he smiled sheepishly, almost guiltily, "showed me mercy upon finding me, and used Rose's healing tears to fix what was left of my gem. It took me hundreds of years of refining, but eventually I settled on a physical form my gem could handle." Though his voice was monotone, his expression seemed saddened, but it had been so long since then, he was almost numb to the pain, "but what about yourself? You clearly have your physical form, yet you were in a bubble." He seemed surprised at that.
