Fleade post 1
Ethelfleade had been wandering around Matori for quite some time now. She really didn't know where to go on top of not really knowing where she was to begin with. What she DID know was that she was getting tired. And hungry. And now she wasn't sure if staying so long in matori was such a great idea. Fleade wasn't quite sure why she really came to Matori in the first place anymore. Had she had some kind of big plan to help them get back at the Obans or something? If she had, she didn't remember.
The Ice woman kicked the water with her bare foot as her stomach growled. She'd grown accustomed to walking the sandy beaches with her feet bare, when they got too hot from the sands, she'd walk in the wet sand where the water lapped up onto the beach. But now she was staring at the water for a different reason. Water held fish and fish was food, which was something she desperately wanted right now. There were a few problems with that though: she didn't know how to swim, even if she knew how to swim she didn't know how to catch fish in the water. Fleade ended up sitting down and kicking her feet in the water in her frustration.

Devi post 1
Devika found herself with nothing on her schedule for the day. Kai had told her he would be busy, presumably swimming or doing something of that sort so it was obvious that Devi wouldn't want to accompany him, even if he had asked. She had already gone and visited her grandmother recently so she didn't really need to take the time to do that. She couldn't, but it was a long way through those tunnels and Devi felt like she should just wait until her grandmother needed some more supplies, or she could get Kai to go with her that way for company.
It was on her aimless wandering down the beach, halfway wondering where exactly her brother was today that she saw a very strange figure sitting on the beach. She had never seen an earthling like this before, granted, she had lived a relatively sheltered life even from the oban war. Devika knew only matori and obans, not whatever this earthling was. Of course she had heard about the other races, but not enough to fully be able to know where this stranger was from. She stood some distance away, hoping the other female wasn't hostile as she saw a pair of swords close to the woman. "Hello?" She called out hesitantly. "Are you okay?"

Fleade post 2
The sudden voice in the distance snapped Fleade out of her hunger driven stupor. Fleade's hands found the hilts of her swords and she popped up into a kneeling position, ready for anything. But when she saw that the soft voice came from a very timid looking matori, she relaxed slightly. It could all be a ruse of course so she didn't relax completely. The ice woman stood and lowered her swords. "Okay would be a matter of opinion." She relaxed a little bit more.
"Sorry, you kind of startled me. I was dazed and hadn't seen anybody else in quite some time so I wasn't really expecting to see anyone around here. Not that I would know if there are people around." She said it in a rather matter of fact tone. This matori didn't look lost though so she wondered if she had any information on how to get to the next town, or really what she wanted to know: how to get some food...fast.

Devi post 2
Devika took a step back as the woman popped up at her voice and was instantly defensive. Her hands raised up, palms out, showing she meant no harm. Eyes wide and breathing quicker than before, she suddenly wondered if this was a good idea after all. It didn't take too long before the other woman relaxed slightly and then spoke. So the other woman didn't seem intent on killing her right off the start, so that was good. Devika's hands lowered but her heart still raced as the threat of danger hadn't completely dissipated.
"Well I'm sorry for startling you. That was never my intention. You didn't look well so I thought I would ask you if you were okay. Which it sounds like maybe not? Do you need medical help or something? You're not matori so I imagine you're not used to the tropical weather." That was her way of trying to find out where this other woman was from. If she found that out she might be able to remember some of the things she had been taught about the other Tendaji races and regions.

Fleade post 3
That caused Fleade to laugh, no she most definitely wasn't used to this weather. At least not when she first arrived here. Just Oba compared to Jahuar in comparison to Zena was shocking to her. "No I'm not from here. I'm from Zena, the most northern of Tendaji's lands. My homeland is cold, much much colder than this." She smiled slightly. "I don't need medical help but I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I got lost and well, kind of ran out of food." How foolish this girl must think of her, then again she thought of herself in a similar manner right now. How fortunate it was for her to not have run into any obans, then she really would have been in trouble.

Devika post 3:
The other woman's laugh definitely eased the tension that had grown from the second of their encounter. At ease now, Devika relaxed further. "Well, I have to admit I haven't traveled much so I wouldn't really be able to help you with the 'lost' part though I can take you to town and likely find someone who can. As for food...I can take you back to my house, which is a little closer than town. I think my brother went fishing this morning so there should be some kind of food at the house. And if there's not any fish there should be at least some fruit. If you'd like, you'd just have to follow me a short ways." She turned slightly to show the ice woman that she just needed to follow her. "Oh, I apologize. I never even introduced myself. I'm Devika." Devi had a kind smile and offered her hand to shake.
