It was a relatively quiet night, albeit somewhat windy still from the storms earlier. Lepus was patrolling alone again, as Etoile had her shows to watch, and while she could have called up one of her friends, such as Onnie or Megumi, to come patrol with her, but to be honest, she was fine with things the way they were. Patrolling alone gave Lepus an advantage, after all- she was free to do as she pleased and go where she pleased, without anyone trying to reprimand her for straying from the 'safe' zones... whatever they were (if they existed). Personally, while she did take being a senshi semi-seriously, she also used it as an excuse to be rebellious and do things like sneak out of the house at night and check out spooky places in the hopes of them being haunted. And, well, Lepus had also told Onnie she'd teach her how to fight, so that Onnie would be able to properly beat up youma, so patrolling alone gave the young senshi time to think up ideas as to how to go about doing this. Should she try putting together some sort of training dummy to let Onnie use her attacks on? A garbage can, maybe? Or should they just use their skills on each other? ... Actually, Lepus thought, that last one probably wouldn't work- she doubted Onnie would want to attack her, and she didn't know what good sending Onnie running into walls would do; Onnie'd probably just end up crying or something. As she continued on her search for spooky things/strategy thinking, Lepus realized that she sensed the aura of Chaos in the general vicinity, different than that of the youma she usually encountered, but not quite the same as the corrupt she met before. Curious, but also still (somewhat) maintaining a sense of caution, Lepus decided to get closer, to check it out. Infinities "i'll get tags done and starters put up during ffxiv maint," i say to myself, as maint then proceeds to end early

Titan had not gone on a proper patrol (probably ever, but) since her promotion to Captain. It had been most unexpected that she finally earned such a thing; it had been years since she had been corrupted into the Negaverse, and she had somewhat thought the status quo would remain until the end of time. She was, at least, uniformed still somewhat simply, not in the gaudy and heavy mess that some of her cohorts obtained as they were promoted. But the power shift was undeniable, and... Odd. Signatures felt different- there was greater, there was lesser, and even those greater, who had been greater before, felt strangely shifted. Order had felt before like a too-warm breeze filled with sand; their signatures stung and tickled to varying degrees. Now, as one approached, she was forced to gauge it carefully, no longer certain beyond doubt what it would hold. She was certainly not prepared for what she got. The senshi she found at the end of her search was.... Small. And... Tiny. And young. Titanite would not consider herself a maternal woman, by any stretch of the imagination; but this... This was something that warranted shame , surely, on the side of order. Or it was a midget. She couldn't strike that out. Six feet of Amazon stared down at another powered creature and said, with eloquence and tact... "Uh?"

Lepus wasn't sure what she had expected, really, but she was pretty sure it wasn't this. Staring up at the giant Nega captain currently towering over her, Lepus didn't necessarily feel regretful for her choice in going off alone, though she did wonder if maybe she should have called a friend for back up. Either way, it was too late to be pondering these sort of decisions... probably. At the very least, there hadn't been any move to attack (yet), and the tall woman seemed to be at least somewhat confused at her presence, which hopefully gave Lepus an advantage... hopefully. Well, with any luck, Lepus would be able to at least distract this lady and get away far enough to get out of trouble if it came down to it. In the meantime, Lepus maintained a defensive posture, while also trying to look intimidating, or as intimidating as a twelve year-old chibi senshi could be, anyways. "... Um, hi?" she prompted, not sure where this conversation might lead, if anywhere at all.

Titanite didn't... Know what was happening. So tiny, so defensive, so cute she thought she was going to choke, gag, and die. The blue-haired Captain stared down at the child, desperately confused and annoyed by the sheer cuteness. "You have rabbit ears," she stated the obvious in her heavy, lilting accent. "And you are a senshi. Can you actually pull rabbits from out of your hat unlike those charlatans on the television? Since you have actual magic?" it was an important question to start with. "Also why are you out past your bedtime, where is your bodyguard, what if you met a youma?" Her youngest siblings were now twenty, far past the age for a need for sisterly instinct. But she had been meeting so many disgustingly YOUNG members of order... "Do you even know how to defend yourself?!" Titanite was offended, and it was dripping off her tongue. Indignation.

Very quickly this was going from a potential fight to an interrogation, and Lepus went from being on the defense to just being flat out offended. What was it with adults and their thinking she couldn't hold her own as a chibi senshi? So many answers were suddenly being demanded of her, and Lepus did her best to process all of the questions. "Uhhh, I can't pull a rabbit out of my hat, but that'd be pretty neat if it could fight for me?" she responded, shrugging, "My magic's different from that, but I doubt you wanna know what it is." Lepus doubted she wanted the captain to know what it was. Spoilers and all, no sense in ruining the surprise. "I'm out past my bedtime because I'm patrolling, which is what senshi are supposed to do," she retorted, frowning, "And if I saw a youma, I'd send it running into walls like I always do." "And uh-" Lepus stopped herself short, before she could give an answer to that last question, "... Why do you want to know that?"

Titanite stared down at the chibi, pursing her lips into a more disapproving expression with every moment. "Then why have a hat?" she inquired, "What is the purpose of a rabbit-eared hat you cannot pull rabbits from? You should be able to fight for yourself. Unless the rabbit is horse-sized and you can ride it into battle, but then it is only a kangaroo, with no pouch. Hopping..." her voice trailed off, her nose scrunching. "Senshi are supposed to also get good grades," she shot back, "And live to be 18. And what if the youma didn't run into a wall? What if it ran into traffic, or a pedestrian, or-" why did she care? She dropped to a knee, holding out her hands. "Punch my hand," she ordered, and there was no nonsense in her tone. "Make it move, and I will leave you alone and not protest. But if you cannot make my hand move, then I will make you punch it until you can. And then you will leave."

This wasn't exactly the first time someone told Lepus to punch them- or some part of them, anyways- Anakeion had done so before, too. However, Anakeion was a Page, and Titanite... Was... not? Lepus stared for a moment, somewhat still in disbelief, before ultimately conceding to the woman's orders. If it got her to go away, then it got her to go away, and in the end, that was what Lepus wanted, right? So, she punched.

It was to the chibi's credit that the punch went for Titan's hand. She had been half-expecting it to fly at her face, but apparently her confidence had either stunned her into silence, or terrified her into submission. Either way, Titan watched the curled fist carefully, letting it make contact as promised. Her hand did not budge, but Titan closed her larger, calloused hand gently around the chibi's fist. "You have a punch that could be a weapon, but is a weapon any good if it breaks? No. Tuck your thumb not on the side, but like this." she adjusted the thumb gently. "Someone taught you not to put your thumb inside, this is good." The contact had been made in a way that she did not like. "Turn your hand down more. Take your fist, and touch my palm as though punching. Feel how punching with the fingers feels?" She waited patiently, guiding the girl. "Now turn your hand like this, and so the same. If you punch with the flats of your fingers instead of your knuckles, you can break your hand. The knuckles will transfer pressure."

Lepus had hoped that maybe Titan would let her go ahead and leave anyway, but when it came apparent she was serious about not leaving, the chibi made a small noise of frustration. Was this admittedly better than getting into a fight she probably couldn't win? Maybe, but it was still annoying. Either way, there was nothing Lepus could really do for now except to continue to follow the captain's instructions, to follow this through to the end. It didn't stop it from being weird to get punching lessons from someone that was supposed to be her enemy, but this was useful for the future, maybe, for when she ran into people that she couldn't trick. "Am I doing this right?" she asked, trying to form a fist the way Titan wanted.

The little noise was not missed, but was dismissed. Little ones should not be in this fight at all. Some would say that the little ones should be crushed like ants before they could grow into a danger to the Negaverse. With 14 siblings, and assorted nieces and nephews, she couldn't quite manage to think of them... Well. She considered the little fist with bright eyes, and used one roughly calloused thumb to make a small adjustment. "Now," she said with an easy smile, and curled her own fist, slowly hitting her own palm to show the little one how she wanted the strike to be made. "You will hold your hand at an angle like this, see?" one moment, then a pause. Titanite repeated the gesture, then said, "Are you ready to try and hit my hand again?"

Lepus still didn't really get it, but apparently she was making progress in doing things the way Titanite wanted, so at least she had that going for her. Now if only she could get this whole punching thing right and actually win, though seeing as it really wasn't a competition or anything, it was more of that Lepus wanted to make the weird lady happy by doing things right, so she could go home. (And text Anakeion about it later) "I am more than ready," she said, when prompted for a response.

Titanite was going to lay money on the kid hitting her in the face this time. She wouldn't be surprised, even if disappointed. But if she got hit in the face with proper form, she would take it as a victory. Now she must know how her original kickboxing trainers must have felt when she was smaller. Younger. "Good." Titanite held up both hands, pointing at her left palm first. "Punch this one. Do not worry about making it move at first. You have time. Line up your punches properly. Take the time up front, and you will save it later. Do not aim for my hand, ain for the place behind it. Do you understand?"

"Ummm, yeah, more or less?" Lepus said; she had a question or two about the way Titan worded her instructions, but refrained from asking. No need to drag this on even longer. "So aim for the place behind your hand, got it." It sounded like Titanite was wanting Lepus to punch her, and not just her hand, but Lepus wasn't interested in starting any fights. Instead, following her instructions, Lepus swung a fist at the captain's left hand. Infinities if titaite wants lepus to punch her all she has to do is ask

Titanite thought she had not worded her instructions correctly. As such, she did not move her hand when the contact was made. "You aimed for my hand," she chided, and used her right hand to place it behind her left. "When I say aim for the place behind my hand, I mean to try and punch through my hand. Do not just aim for the surface." she waggled her right hand behind her left. "Aim behind the target. Do not be satisfied with only grazing." Improper follow through got people killed. "Again."

Lepus was getting irritable, and it started to show with the exasperated look on her face. " I just want to go home already," she complained, wishing Titan would stop giving her such a hard time about this. She hit the hand! She made a fist the way the captain wanted! Frustrated, she swung again, aiming for 'behind the hand', like Titanite had wanted, but it seemed more like she was intending to punch her in the face. Maybe that would get her to stop scolding her. (If all else failed, she could use her magic, but it wouldn't really work at such a short distance... probably.)
