Name: Finia
Age: 26
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: She's not picky~
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Thief/Assassion
Physical Description:
Definitely a woman you would notice right away, Finia has looks and she knows it. She uses them to her advantage whenever it suits her...which is almost all the time. Her hair is a thick golden blonde with streaks of even paler blonde mingled amongst the gold. It's almost always warn up to keep it out of the way with a few rare occasions where she lets it down. When worn down, her hair reaches mid back with a slight wave to it. Her face is nicely proportioned with soft angles and a small, almost delicate nose. Warm caramel brown eyes always seem to hint at promises of a good time yet have a dash of a dangerous, almost predatory, glint to them. Her skin in nicely bronzed from the sun, though it may be hard to notice as once most people make it past her face, they get stuck at her chest. A curse that seems to plague her family, really (insert witty snark here~). Finia has a generous chest and flaunts it with corsets and tight tops. Her bottom wear varies from flowing skirts to stylish pants, depending on what she is dressing for. There is always some sort of concealed weapon on her, something small that might make her opponent laugh. But never underestimate this woman

Personality:
Finia is quite the cunning individual. She has intelligence and uses it to her every advantage. Whether that be through learning the daily routines of a person she is to make quietly disappear. Or knowing just how to work a customer into getting what she wants while making sure their night spent with her is the best they've ever had. She is able to play the game of flattery almost to a fine art, using her words and intonations of her voice to put someone at ease and make them relax around her. All the better to get what she wants. Or slip something into your drink. Finia is not someone to be taken lightly. Especially if you've made a few enemies in Nabol. And always be careful what you drink, for you never know when a beautiful courtesan might slip something into it.

Having grown up a thief before she found her true calling as a hired assassin, Finia has a very hard time trusting anyone fully. This doesn't mean she won't give someone a chance, however. Just that she finds it foolish and stupid to allow someone you know nothing about to learn everything there is about you. She will never give away anything that could be used against her in some way and if she does happen to tell you something personal, it's mostly likely going to be ninety-eight percent a lie. Only someone she has gotten to know very well and learned she can trust will ever get honest information from her. Something that can and does tend to take a while. She usually tests a person, giving them a small piece of personal information that won't hurt her in some way at first. If they don't use it against her or keep it to themselves, she'll slowly divulge more information. This also applies to relationships as well. Finia does not usually have relationships, and if she's seen with anyone for a prolonged period of time, it's most likely only a fling. Part of her is afraid to let any one person get that close to her. But another enjoys the risque type of lifestyle she's currently got.

Finia is quite shameless. She does not know this word. If she wants something from you or is being exceptionally cheeky, she'll be right up in your personal space with complete disregard to if you want her there or not. Oh look, is your lap vacant? Well, that just won't do! She'll plant herself right in your lap and bat her eyelashes at you. Flirting is just another one of the tools in her arsenal. She's learned to master this art through her craft and from observing how the drunks in the taverns act around other courtesans. She'll then test what she's observed to determine what does and doesn't work, honing her skills in the art of shameless flirting. She also learned, through her development of flirtatious behavior and training as a courtesan, how to use her assets to her fullest advantage. She's got a generous bosom and will proudly flaunt this fact on the job. This is mostly done through the clothing she wears, something that will emphasize her curves and bosom and draw the eye away from too sharp a gaze or what might be hidden up her sleeve.

She may not trust easily and she may have a temper on occasion, but Finia does have a sweet side to her. It's usually just reserved for when she's not surrounded by people that need to see the stronger side of her personality. Typically in the quieter hours of the evening or when she is around people she trusts and cares about, Finia will be rather sweet. Especially if it's just her and her sister, Arlii. She very much cherishes these quiet times and chances to relax for a little while. This side of her will also show itself when around the younger crowd. Part of this is due to her fear of ever having her own kids, knowing that the life she lives is not right for raising a child. In addition, any sort of relationship she finds herself in, Finia will have a soft spot for her partner so long as she trusts them. But it will take a lot of time, effort and most importantly, patience for any lover she does find. Even then, she may not confide in them what her real abilities are.

Positive Trait List Intelligent, Protective, Can be Sweet (really, she can!), Patient

Negative Trait List Manipulative, Distrustful of everyone, Shameless, Has a Temper

History:
She really didn't know or care to know what life was like before her uncle was mugged by some b*****d desperate for money. All she remembered was that very real fear that she, her mother and younger sister, Arlii, weren't going to survive the coming winter with too few marks being made to purchase what they needed. Her uncle had been the hard worker of them, a journeyman smith, though his arrogance hadn't won him any friends. There wasn't anyone her family could even turn to for help, as Aynria only had her brother. And their mother refused to tell them anything of their father, saying he wouldn't bother to help them either. Her mother had only been an apprentice weaver, not quite as skilled as some of the others of the craft. And her sister was only a couple turns old while Finia was not much older and too small to do any real work, though her mother began to teach her small things, like washing dishes and cleaning dirty rags. Things that even a small child could potentially find themselves employed for.

Finia was only six turns when she stole her first coin purse. She'd been walking the streets, making her way back home after her mother had sent her out to get some bread and milk, if possible. The woman she stole from had been leaning in to inquire over some grain. And her coin purse had just been hanging right there, loosely tied to her belt haphazardly. Finia hadn't really known what she was doing, but some urge to tug the purse off overcame her and the young girl just....tripped into the woman's skirt and tugged the purse off. She apologized to the woman, received a head pat and was ushered off to find her mother.

That was the first of many such coin purse snatchings. And from there, her thievery skills only grew. Her mother had been furious the first time, pissed the second, and wary the third. After numerous occasions of discovering such 'gifts' from her daughter, Aynria began to teach her daughter how to use whatever she had available to use to her advantage, though she still taught Finia what she could of more...'legal' means of earning marks. Aynria even attempted to teach her daughter a little weaving, or at least how to stitch up and repair clothing.

hen she was about thirteen turns old, Finia was finally caught in the act of stealing. Or rather, she couldn't fib her way out of it this time as she was definitely old enough to know what she was doing was wrong. And not the too sweet little girl doing a 'bad thing' that should go home and not do it again. She got off lightly, choosing to take the truthful route and admitting she didn't have the marks for the medicine her mother needed. Which was the truth as her mother was growing ill and more frail. Though she worked hard at her job and raising a child. Finia was 'punished', having to perform a little bit of community service to make up for her crime. A sevenday of it. Which the guard had felt was a fair enough amount of time to make a young girl realize what she'd done was a Bad Thing.

Four days later Finia was back on the streets and found her next target. A burly man that was harassing a poor vendor just trying to run his stall. The man was too busy arguing to even notice the petite girl that slipped his satchel off his belt. Stupid brute didn't deserve it with the way he was harassing the older man. Finia didn't feel terrible about stealing from him in the least.

When she got a little older, the first and biggest change in her life occurred. She was only seventeen when she committed her first murder. Her mother had become employed by a sharding dimglow of a woman that had no right to be as wealthy as she'd become. There were rumors about how she'd become so, but what Finia couldn't stand was how she treated her underlings. Like Aynria. It was when her mother started to come home, beaten and shaken to her core that Finia had had enough. She went to the Lady Loreima's house, demanding an explanation. Only to be spat upon and told to leave before she soiled her front door. That night, Finia snuck in to her house, using the skills she'd acquired as a thief, adding a strong dose of fellis laced with some other drug she'd found among one of the many unique items she'd acquired over the turns of thievery, to the Lady's bedside cup of water.

The next evening, her mother came home distraught and spooked because the Lady Loreima had mysteriously died in her sleep sometime within the previous night. Finia just felt an immense feeling of satisfaction. She never told her mother or Arlii of what she did.

She found she had enjoyed the thrill of the initial sneaking around and setting everything into motion. And that satisfaction she'd felt hearing her work had succeeded marvelously? It was like a drug to her system. Finia began keeping an ear open for any 'jobs' that might require...a little stealthy dealing with. And thus, her career as a hired assassin began to bud. She wouldn't take many jobs at first, letting her skills develop a little more and her name get out into the shadows for anyone searching. And she was good at what she did. More than that, she enjoyed it. Not the assassination itself, but the thrill and adrenaline one could ride while undertaking a job. Never knowing if it will be a success or not. If you'll be caught. Will your target put up a fight. All of it came together so deliciously and Finia craved it. Unfortunately, she didn't give her sister enough credit for her own intelligence, and Arlii pieced together rumors she heard with her sisters 'disappearances'. After confronting her, Arlii became the only person on Pern that knew Finia's little secret, something she highly disapproved of.

Not very long after she'd just turned nineteen turns, already making a name for herself in the darker world of Nabol, Finia and Arlii received quite the surprise in the form of their father. He came, claiming to have gotten word of their mother's passing, wanting to pay his respects and offer them a place to call home at the Weyr. He sweet talked them, hinted at the chance they might get to Stand during a Hatching, and eventually persuaded them to come. Or persuaded Arlii to come. Finia didn't trust the man as far as she could spit. But she refused to leave her sister.

She threatened R'lav. Swore on their mother's grave that if he did anything to either of them, he'd regret the decision he ever spawned them. She didn't tell him how she would do it. And he seemed to think she was all talk. But, an agreement was made. If they truly did not like the Weyr, or weren't able to handle Standing on the Sands, he would let them return.

It was, perhaps, only a half Turn later that the Gold did Rise. And eggs were indeed upon the Sands. It was a strange feeling, standing among the other candidates when Hatching time came. She was not used to being so exposed in only her white candidate's robes and the possiblity of a creature Impressing her and knowing everything she thought. But, Finia put on that brave face - if only to prove that she was better than her father. As it happened, an irritated brown dragonet wound up battling with another on the Sands, causing quite the ruckus. When one of them knocked her flat on her backside, Finia was just about ready to give them a piece of her mind when she found the most beautiful rainbow eyes staring down at her. Or glaring. Her little defender was not happy.

It took me forever to get to you! I am starving. And my sibling called me fat! Take your Komaith away and feed me!

And Finia found herself bonded to the most tempermental of brown dragons. And equal match of wills for someone that was to be her lifemate.

Finia was ecstatic! But R'lav was embarrassed and humiliated. How dare she Impress a Brown dragon! She was but a mere woman. He would not have his name associated with the pair. Something that Finia was only too happy to oblige him in. She and Komaith tackled their weyrlinghood with a passion, adding more fuel to R'lav's intense disapproval and growing dislike of the woman. They were great students. But they always felt as if they were being held back. And R'lav found ways to make her life much more difficult. Made it miserable for Arlii. Rumors started to spread that she and Arlii planned to one day be Weyrwoman and Wingleader, like Western Weyr allowed. By that point, Finia had had enough of the man and the hellish Weyr. She made it perfectly clear she wanted nothing to do with them and put in a transfer to Western Weyr.

And then the Thread fell. There were no words to describe the shear amount of gratitude Finia felt towards whatever forces of Pern had made R'lav come get them. She didn't feel any gratitude towards him. But he had saved them. Her only form of gratitude for this was to slap him in the face the day she left. She and Komaith along with Arlii and Erinaeth left for Western Weyr where they were more than happy to share some of the teachings they'd gotten from High Reaches.

DRAGON
Name: Komaith
Age: 6
Color: Brown
Size: 41'
Physical Description:
He is a large Brown. Not just large in size, but built like a tank as well. And it's not fat or overeating of any kind (he's not fat thankyouverymuch!). This Brown just happened to be one of those dragons that grew to be big enough to rival a tiny Bronze. His chest his thicker than the average Brown, which probably is what makes him seem bulky. But when he stretches out and stands proud, it's easier to see he's just a Big Brown. Being larger, however, means he lacks in agility and can't maneuver quite as fast as the smaller dragons. Though he's still faster then, say, a Bronze. His neck is a little shorter then some dragons while his tail seems thinner.

Personality:
This dragon definitely has a hard head about him. He's not known for rolling over and submitting to those dragons that are larger than he is. Nor does he immediately jump to obey a command given, the exception being a Gold's command. Komaith has a strong will to him and he will use it to make sure he and his rider are not being abused because of his color and her gender. He also won't be swayed from a decision or belief if he feels it is the correct one or the better choice. He'll stick to it with a hiss and a grumble here and there to any that try to argue with him, including his bonded. Who is the one responsible for the brown's exceptional stubbornness as well. Not that Komaith wasn't already a stubborn dragon to begin with - as if this wasn't obvious just yet - but Finia taught him how to make an art of his stubborn nature. Most of which is spent on making sure SHE doesn't do something too stupid. Which might be asking too much of this pair. At least this dragon is an equal match for Finia in the battle of wills!

Probably his biggest flaw, this brown has a bit of a short temper. Little things can set him off, like calling him an ugly dragon, for example. He especially has not been one to get along real well with the larger dragons, feeling as if he has something to prove because he is smaller. This has caused him to be in a few snapping, snarling matches with the less patient dragons. However, his temper has ebbed slightly with having his rider to vent at when he's in a particularly foul mood. She is not phased by it and over the turns, he is learning to not take things so personally (he is not fat!). His rider is a huge help in this and when his anger is at its peak, he relies heavily on her to help him not fling insults back or thwack another dragon across the snout with his tail. This does not mean he doesn't respect some of the bronzes (and yes, even Golds), but they have to earn it before Komaith will acknowledge them as 'alright' dragons. In addition, there is never a more sure fire way to see Komaith's temper then to mess with his rider. He knows very well that she can get herself into a good deal of trouble without trying too hard. But so much as threaten a hair on her head and he'll be sure to set your teeth rattling with a roar of fury and possibly some bruised shins. Because he is not beyond thwacking a human with the end of his tail. Or the tips of his wings.

Komaith can be a surprisingly careful dragon at times. Something that can be at odds with his temper and hard headed nature. This trait isn't his strongest but it is particularly handy when he and his rider are flying in a new terrain or during Threadfall. He makes sure to learn the area as quickly as possible to allow for maximum usage of the terrain. It can be something as simple as flying high in a wide circle to allow him to pinpoint what natural formations he could use to his advantage if the need arose. Or flying in low and fast to determine how tricky the terrain is when in a rush. All of which he shares with his rider, allowing her to store the information for him to touch on later. This skill allows him to think quickly on how to utilize all of his surroundings and manage any other dragons that fly with them.

If there is one thing aside from his anger and stubbornness that he is good at, it's protecting his rider. Ninety percent of the time the brown feels like he is her guardian, as he is constantly making sure she doesn't get in over her head. Komaith is adamant about making sure no harm comes to her if he can help it. He'll be the first to admit she walks herself right into some situations, in which case, he just observes and makes sure it doesn't get too out of hand. This trait has also been a factor in his growing will power against those who might try to order him around. Or against his rider. His desire to protect Finia is probably the number one trigger for his temper. Should harm come to her that he was unable to divert, Komaith will be one very unhappy dragon and you better believe he will make sure that whoever caused the harm knows it. He's gotten quite skilled with making one believe a look could kill you. He will be loud and make a ruckus and not completely settle until he knows for sure that his rider is alright. For all her faults, Komaith does indeed love the woman.
