Evening offs were never "off" anymore. Instead of spending hours saving lives, she was spending hours siphoning them, picking her victims and stealing what energy she could from them without leaving traces of herself behind. Her options tonight were limited - she was hoping to make it home in time to get some cookies ready for her shift the following evening. Fat Tuesday was soon upon them, so she'd gone out earlier and purchased some happy greens, purples and yellows to decorate the sugar cookies with - if she managed to find the time. As much as she enjoyed the idea of excelling in her new position, it was absolutely murdering her time off from the hospital. Arms fell to hug against her hips as she made her way into the park - perhaps there could be a dozing hobo or two that would be easy targets for this week's quota? SSBrosB If I need to change anything, please let me know!

Arseno hadn't been able to get out of his apartment for the past week. Besides finally cleaning it, which he should have done a while ago, he had also been stuck inside studying most of the time. His finals were coming up, they always seemed to be especially now, and he had been trying to catch up on all that he needed to.
He had been in a bit of a haze since he was promoted, still unsure of what to do at this point. He mostly had wanted to ignore the new duties that had been put on him, but as a Captain they were expecting more of him now and he had been unable to ignore it. However, he still had conflicted feelings being in the negaverse that he hadn't come to terms with yet.
So he was here, outside tonight, in the park, once again looking for victims. However, he felt the aura of what seemed to be a lieutenant in the area of the park too. He slowly made his way over, not really caring at this point. It's not as if he could stop them or anything, they were on the same side after all, and finally noticed her and well... he was interested. Her uniform certainly caught his eye, and he decided to talk to her if she was willing.
Walking slowly he gave a "hello" to her, not really caring at this point if he surprised someone or not.

Eyes darted to the side as she felt a presence similar to her own, but stronger. It wasn't like the painful twinges she got in the back of her mind when around the Order - this aura was almost a comfort, an assurance that Chaos was with her and not a member of the opposing faction. Angelite recalled the pink haired brat that had attacked her in the park earlier that month, so it was a reassurance to have another comrade nearby than someone she'd be forced to fight once more. The greeting was extended, further proving to be a good sign. Friendly company made for a better run-in than some of the other, ominous figures she'd met in the Negaspace. "Good evening." Arms relaxing at her side, she turned to greet the Captain head-on. Did Captains demand recognition for their position? Perhaps she'd better play it safe and be respectful. "I wasn't aware someone else was in this part of the city tonight. Would you prefer I left you alone, Captain?"

Arseno casually walked up to her. He was glad that she didn't jump in surprise. It had been a while since someone hadn't done that when he started to talk to them. It had been a while since he talked to a lieutenant too. It was a nice change of pace at least.
He stopped when he was finally close enough and nodded to her. "Good evening." He noticed that she turned to greet him, which was nice, though he didn't really care about anyone respecting his rank. He still felt like a lieutenant himself after all. He shook his head in answer to her question though. "No. I would enjoy the company tonight if you are willing. Though if you would like to hunt by yourself then I won't continue to bother you."
He hadn't run into anyone like that as of yet, however if one wanted to be left alone he would respect that. He wasn't one to use his position to tell anyone to do what he wanted. He paused for a bit, trying to figure out if he had seen her anywhere before before concluding that he hadn't. "I don't believe we've met before. I am Arsenopyrite."

Her head nodded at the introduction before a smile broke across her face. "I would be happy for the company too. I'm Angelite." It didn't phase her that he appeared younger than her - they all were, it seemed. Through the various interactions she'd had so far in the Negaverse, there had been maybe one that had come close to her own age - her General. But it was nice that this young man seemed more gentlemanly than most. He wasn't bouncing around the place, determined to display his dominance or power for the sake of impressing another agent or for the simple side effect of possessing too much testosterone. Her heels resumed their walk into the park, blue eyes glancing back in the Captain's direction with the intent of beckoning him to follow. "I haven't been around terribly long - still getting accustomed to the obligations that come with our service. May I ask how long you've been enlisted?" Enlisted? Was that the right word? It was still odd, thinking of herself as part of an army - though boot camp aside, that's pretty much what they'd all been thrown into. An army that fought for the dominance of a world, with the intentions of making it a new one. A better one.

"It's good to meet you Angelite." He made a mental note to write that down later. If he didn't he would certainly forget it. He nodded to her and followed where she was going, eventually ending up walking next to her as they walked.
He felt a bit put-off by her question, though he shouldn't at this point. He had been asked plenty of times but... it disconcerted him a bit. He still didn't feel as though he should be at this rank. "Almost a year myself. If I may ask, what about you?" He was always a bit put off when those who had been... "recruited", as she said, longer hadn't been elevated past lieutenant yet. He knew he certainly hadn't done anything amazing to earn the promotion.
But apparently they saw something in him that he himself didn't which concerned him. He still wasn't sure that the Negaverse was the best choice, honestly the world would probably be better without all of these powered beings all over it. Let humans destroy it on their own.

"A bit under a year, myself." It didn't bother her that she was under his rank, knowing full well that she was still biding her time and working her way through the system. Learning was key - she'd been an intern before, she knew the drill. Once you felt comfortable in your position, then you began your climb through the ranks, clutching to each rung until you'd managed to reach the top. Hands fell into her pockets, fingers entwining with the useless stethoscope that was supposed to be a weapon. Absurd. "My General tends to be a little more lax with his approach, so I'm venturing out to do a little research on my own. Got to spread my own wings out and learn to fly, right?" This was followed by a chuckle as she continued on at a leisurely pace. To any other person who might have been in the area, they looked like a couple, just casually walking around the park at dusk. Harmless. Eyes continued to scan the park, noting a slumped over body by one of the benches in the distance. Bingo. One hand moved out to gesture towards the homeless man, silently expressing her target to her temporary partner. If the gentleman had eaten that evening, he'd probably provide a decent amount of energy for both individuals while remaining none the wiser, maybe a bit extra tired. "With time, I hope to accomplish a lot with the opportunity we've been given."

Well, he felt a bit better hearing that. All the other lieutenants that he had met so far had been an agent much longer than he was. He agreed with the lax General though. He himself, although he appreciated the General, though not for the forced corruption, he was planning on following under another one at the same time.
His first was good for getting information, but the second was better at inspiring Arseno to do better and to have a point in staying with the Negaverse. Officially however, he was still under his first General. "Yes... mine's the same, though he tends to be very encouraging about going at our own pace. Sometimes I feel like he isn't telling me everything I need though." That's why he had gone to others for information. He still had questions that he wanted answers to and he wasn't getting them from his original General.
He became interested when she mentioned research though. "Research? If it's not too intrusive, what kind of research are you doing?" However, she couldn't give him an answer right away as she seemed to spot the perfect target. He watched as she moved to where the man was, as Arseno himself slowly followed, hands in his pockets. He nodded to her that she could drain the man first, and he would drain some too, though not enough to possibly endanger him.
He wasn't sure what he could accomplish exactly. He didn't think of the Negaverse as an opportunity at least. "At least you want to accomplish something. I'm still not sure what I'm doing or what I'm going to do as an agent."

She looked at him curiously. "So why did you agree to join, if you weren't sure of your decision?" Subtly was nice and all, but sugarcoating situations was for children and the elderly. They all had a job to do to ensure the well-oiled machine otherwise known as the Negaverse was running smoothly, so when one of the cogs and screws began to question its purpose... well, that posed a problem as far as the machine's competency was concerned. "I would like to be more effective through other means than just...hand to hand combat." Her nose wrinkled up as her face gave away her disgust. Angelite was not a physical fighter - she preferred using her brain and coming up with schemes. Who had the time to trade blows with a magical person who could probably blow them away with a spell, anyways? Her voice lowered as they neared the gentleman stretched out across the bench. "But as far as our duties go - I appreciate what the Negaverse is trying to accomplish. It took some time, but I can see the bigger picture now and want to help the program get to that point. We need someone with control - someone who can keep the rest of the system in line instead of the chaotic nonsense it's fallen into."

He frowned. "I didn't join willingly." The reason he had been forced to join was still ridiculous to him. "I was forced to. And as much as my general has been nice to me, I'm not sure he was actually thinking it through. I think his anger guided him a lot when it came to forcing me, even if he did save me from a youma." Though he wasn't planning on leaving, but he certainly wasn't the type of person who would willing join the Negaverse, or any military group for that matter.
"I'm not planning on leaving though, so you don't need to worry about that." And he certainly didn't want her tattling on him to someone else an him getting punished for it. "Just... I don't know what my purpose is here."
He agreed with her. He wasn't much of a fighter himself. He hadn't even thrown a punch before joining the Negaverse, and even then he was mostly just struggling along. Most of his fights so far had mostly been the White Moon trying to talk him out of the Negaverse. "I agree. I wish there was more for us who aren't physical fighters." There had to be other ways.
Once more he agreed. "Yes... we need more control." The world was close enough to it's next end cycle and humans were the cause of it. "Too many people are allowed to do too many things that hurt not only others but the world itself." He sighed and uncurled the fist that he had made unconsciously.

Didn't join willingly? The comment took her by surprise, her face giving away the temporary bout of confusion. How could it be that someone would forcibly place a person in such a position? How could loyalty be formed when one wasn't given the opportunity to even agree on being inducted into an organization like theirs? He was quick to followup the statement with an assurance of his loyalty, though it puzzled her why he would be so defensive. Did he expect that she would snitch? Was she that disconcerting to be around? Was it her age or her serious appearance that was unsettling to him? Solemnity fled her face as he expressed frustration over his purpose, the smile returning to play with the sides of her mouth. "Isn't that always the case, though? Negaverse or not, we've always been stumped with that question - what is our purpose, our point here on Earth?" The homeless man shifted for a moment, his drunken sleep now restless thanks to the jabbering couple near him. He would be sleeping hard and peacefully once Angelite was through with him, however. "Our purpose is what we make of it. Yes, we're here to do a job, but if we do it right, we can also benefit from it, ourselves. Don't worry so much about the fine details - isn't satisfaction the end goal for everything, anyways?" One gloved hand reached out to gently touch the man's dirty forearm and a golden glow appeared in her open palm almost instantly. The globe grew larger the longer she held the man's arm, the hobo's restless nature soon calming down as the man's energy continued to dissipate from his body into the Lieutenant's hand. As the first energy orb gained impressive in size, she reached over and plucked it from her other hand, offering it up to the Captain as she continued to drain the sleeping man. "I agree," She finally said in response to his last statement. "Organization is key - the others just don't understand it yet." Glancing up at him, she offered him a smile. "It's nice to be in the company of those who think likewise."

Arseno watched the emotions cross Angelite's face, going from confusion to what seemed to be puzzled, but it all eventually left her face. He relaxed a bit more. It seemed that she wouldn't be snitching on him at least, especially considering that she had been surprised that he had been forced into the Negaverse. Seems that there were plenty of other agents who didn't know about it.
He nodded to her, agreeing with her statement. He had often wondered about that. Life was so fleeting and with... life on other worlds unconfirmed in the universe by current science, it felt quite a bit lonely and depressing. "It's a bit... unsettling really. Nothing lasts forever, so what is the purpose? I guess that's why I'm trying to become a doctor. To make some impact on someone's life." Perhaps someone would remember him after he was gone.
He smiled a bit, though it couldn't be seen. "Yes... I suppose so. Though with the way current things are going, I'm not sure if I'll ever be satisfied." What impact could he make anyway?
He watched silently as she drained the man. Hopefully he would have a nice nap after the draining. He looked at the offered orb, and slowly took it from her and storing it. "Thank you." She really didn't have to do it, but it was nice of her. "We are still a bit unorganized. As a lieutenant I never felt as though I had gotten the training or information that I needed, even though my General was plenty willing to do the former, but perhaps we should have some more, specific jobs we could fill, or train under someone as a lieutenant and then follow a specific general afterward. Though that's just me musing, I really have no idea what an organized military structure looks like."
It was nice talking to Angelite. She didn't seem as obsessed as other agents he had met, or at least she didn't give him any creepy vibes like some of the others. He supposed there could be creepy senshi also, but it was probably less likely.

"Maybe that's your purpose, then?" She turned back to continue the draining, eyeing the second orb. There might be a third orb for them without doing too much damage to the older gentleman, but would she risk it? Pulling the second orb away and pocketing it into her uniform, she used her newly freed hand to press against the man's wrist, feeling for his heartbeat as she began the third orb. Her fingers pressed deep, eyes focused on her job while her mind remained on their conversation. "Maybe that's why you're here, brought in on a whim but with the potential of helping reorganize things. Train the younger members - fill them in with information you never received when you started." The orb wasn't growing nearly as fast as the previous two, and with his slowing pulse she knew they were at an end for their draining. Straightening her legs up, she brushed the wrinkles out of the lower half of her dress before turning back toward the Captain. Giving him a wink, she playfully tossed the half-sized orb in his direction. "He who can, does; he who cannot, teaches. Right?" Taking a step closer, she brushed next to him as she passed by. It was time for them to make an exit, before an unsavory aura had the chance to figure out what they were up to. "But speaking seriously, not everyone is going to be a fighter. So why not take the passive route and help instruct? Maybe use some of those doctor skills of yours and mend the broken system?"

As much as he would have wanted to improve the structure of the Negaverse and how they taught lieutenants, he knew that he wasn't the right one to do it. He shook his head a little. "I'm not much of a leader myself, and I certainly don't know anything about military structure organization, but I would like to help lieutenants out when I can. I might just write that little guide book. "I have had some... ideas on what I want to do, but so far my mind hasn't really been able to justify... well what I am thinking of. Perhaps I'm still a bit too innocent to be a very good member of the Negaverse, but I still feel like I need to try and check out what I've been thinking of doing."
He looked at her as she checked the man's pulse, glad that he was in the presence of a medical professional. He couldn't help but be fascinated by how she worked and how easily she did it. He only hoped he would be that good one day. Her was surprised when she tossed the orb at him, and he had to jump a bit to catch it. This was the first time a lieutenant was really making him feel his rank, and he wasn't sure how to feel about it. He wanted to say to her that she didn't need to defer to him on who got more energy, but he also knew that if she did the same thing to other captains, they may not agree.
He felt her brush next to him and watched her as she passed by, taking a moment before following after her. "Well, I'm not quite a doctor. I'm only pre-med right now. But I should be graduating next year and then I'll be able to go to medical school, and then hopefully a residency." That was his plan at least. And he wouldn't let the Negaverse get in the way of it. No way was he going to be practicing medicine illegally. "If I were to instruct though, I would probably just do it to individual lieutenants, there are some that... well I'm not quite sure if I would want them near me. But the idea is a good one."

She nodded as he explained his thoughts, silently agreeing with most everything he was saying. It was true - there were several Lieutenants out there that even made Angelite cringe. While she was all for increasing their ranks, some of the options that the Generals chose... well, they were more wild cards than anything else, really. "It sounds as if you've already put a lot on your plate - school on top of everything else." One hand gestured out, figuratively enveloping their current situation. "No wonder you're so stressed out about all of this." She wasn't sure if stressed was the best word for his situation. Overwhelming, at the very least - she'd probably be questioning everything, herself, if she were back in nursing school and suddenly faced with an entire new set of responsibilities - especially knowing that they impacted the world as they knew it. Thoughts flickered back to memories of Jack's residency, but the woman shook the pesky, bittersweet nostalgia away. "Well, if you're ever in need of someone to hash out some ideas with, I'm usually available. With cookies, no less." Her bright smile had returned and she tilted her head, allowing her hair to fall down against her neck. "It would give me an excuse to try out a new recipe or two. That is, if it's not an inappropriate offer to make to a Captain I've just met...?" She gave him a playful look as she began to slowly walk backwards towards the direction of the park's exit. A glimmer of an Order aura had appeared in the distance and she was eager to leave. A night without a confrontation would be a good one - but one that involved making a new acquaintance was even better.
