It was amazing how quickly it got dark during the winter months. You would go in a building at 5:30 PM and then by 6:30 PM it was totally dark outside. And that's how Derrick felt as he left the library this night. He had only gone to return a couple of books when a few new ones caught his eye and before he knew it, he was looking at the night sky outside and it felt like 9 o'clock. He hmphed as he hustled a bit over into an alleyway and powered up. His main motivation in doing so was to get home a bit faster, though if there was anyone else one the way that had to be... dealt with, then well, it would certainly be easier to fight them while powered up now wouldn't it. He was hoping that he wouldn't feel the familiar aura of a negaverse agent, however luck was not on his side tonight as he immediately felt the aura as soon as he powered up. He sighed in frustration a bit, wishing he would have been able to get home quickly tonight, but that seemed not to be the case. The aura was coming from a more crowded part of the city, near the movie theaters it seemed, which was in the opposite direction of his apartment. He cursed to himself in his head a bit, before he started towards the signature. Once he had reached the theaters and hid himself a bit, he looked around and saw what seemed to be an agent draining one of the theater patrons who had just gone out one of the side doors of the building. His brows furrowed, really wishing he didn't feel the need to do this but... he stepped out from the corner and in full view of the agent and yelled to her "Hey, stop what you're doing!"

The Negaverse flourished in the winter nights- the lengthy darkness every night aiding them in their endeavors. Vanadinite herself often took advantage of the long nights, the cold not particularly bothersome considering she was one of the lucky ones who ended up fully clothed (jacket, pants and all!). She paced back and forth outside a side door of the movie theatre waiting for some poor hapless person to come wandering out. A grin spread across her features as someone stepped out of the door and put a cigarette between his lips. Before he had a chance to light it, Vanadinite slipped up to him in the shadows and easily began to drain him of his energy. It figured, however, that she would be interrupted by some twerpy Senshi. "God damnit," she muttered under her breath as the civilian began to sway under her touch, the wall behind him and her hands pressed against him the only reason he was still standing. "Get lost, Senshi!," she spat at the Senshi that stepped out in full view.

Well, Caliban certainly didn't feel bad for interrupting her. He grimaced a bit as she spat at him. He got closer to her, though he kept his guard up just in case. "I don't think so. I have to stop you from draining people." He couldn't exactly help the guy that she had just started draining, but hopefully he could get her to go away from the theaters for the night. "Set him down gently and leave, or else this will get ugly." He knew that he hadn't won against a Negaverse agent yet, but that didn't keep him from trying. Though he had been warned multiple times not to go rushing in, but he couldn't help it! He was a senshi! It was his job to protect the people from the Negaverse! He wasn't too confident in himself that he felt as though he had an advantage over her, which meant he would have to be doing 100% if this agent decided to put up a fight.

If Vanadinite's eyes could roll any harder, they probably would've fallen out of her head. But alas, she resorted to groaning heavily and a normal amount of eye-rolling. "Gently? Really?" She grinned at the man before she pushed herself away from the wall, allowing the civilian to instantly drop with a thud and crumple to the ground at her feet. He'd wake up just fine in a few hours, but he'd definitely be feeling that in the morning. Her arms crossed over her chest and she cocked her head to one side. Her gloved fingertips tapped along her arms impatiently, her eyes narrowing into a hard glare. "What exactly are you planning to do about it, darlin?" The Negaverse Lieutenant genuinely could not figure out for the life of her why the Senshi always felt the need to interfere. If he had left her to her business, she probably (maybe) would have left the civilian comfortably against the wall (or dead with his starseed ripped- either way).

Caliban sighed in his head. His brows furrowed a bit. So far he hadn't met any Negaverse agent who was only wanting to talk. He had heard that not all of the agents were willing to be in the negaverse but with his experience so far, they were all quite willing participants. He frowned a bit more when the agent just let the man fall to the ground. "Well, let's see what I can do then shall we?" He said, hoping that he could actually stop someone this time. At least she didn't kill the man yet. He paused a bit before rushing her, yelling out "Seal Away" and moving his fist out to hit her. He was aiming for one of her arms hoping he might hit. Quote: When Caliban hits an opponent with one of his fists, it causes the opponent to be temporarily paralyzed, where the opponent was hit (either the whole arm, whole leg, or torso+head), for 15 seconds. Can be used twice in battle period.

Not only was Vanadinite willing to be in the Negaverse, she had actually gone out of her way to seek out a General to induct her into the Organization. It didn't get more dedicated to the cause than that, and the fuchsia-haired Lieutenant would reaffirm her dedication in any way that she could, day in and day out.
Before she could react, however, the Senshi was rushing her and calling his magic forth. His fist made contact with her right arm, and the impact made her flinch and narrow her eyes, her jaw clenched with anger. She summoned her weapon to her hand and when she went to return the punch, her arm didn't move.
She looked down at her hand and tried to swing a second time with no luck. Vanadinite seethed and drove herself forward, hoping to knee the Senshi in the gut and give herself enough time to get away. Without her arm to fight, there was no way she was going to win and she couldn't risk that when he had the ability to use magic and potentially paralyze the rest of her.
Turning on her hot-pink heel, she ran out of the alley into the cool darkness of the night.
At least she made her quota for the evening.
