Seeing Ethiriel twirl in such a manner made the white Raevan smile. The last time they had met, they had both been decorously polite to each other as new acquaintances are wont to do. Xiu was glad that on this second meeting, the both of them were on a more familiar term and he smiled when Ethiriel congratulated him on his growth. “You have sharp hearing, Eth,” said Xiu with a laugh. “And your ears do not deceive you. I grew recently and am still adjusting to these new legs of mine,”
Taking Eth’s proffered hand, Xiu walked alongside the Sigel while Nedhudir trotted contentedly by their side. No doubt the two of them made an interesting pair as other park goers tended to stop and stare in their direction.
But seeking attention was not high on the list of things Xiu preferred and the Valsaros gradually steered Eth and Nehudir towards a quieter part of the park. Across the street from them was a modest looking tea shop, not quite bustling at this hour of the day. The teatime crowd would come later and brisk business would be made. Till then, the shop operated sedately with only a couple of its tables occupied.
“I was wondering Eth, would you like a spot of tea to freshen up? You mentioned that the both of you have already had an excursion prior to our meeting,” said Xiu with a smile. “The day is hot and I warrant that some time in the shade would do wonders,”
