Name: T'nor Age: 29 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Weyr: High Reaches Rider Rank: Wingrider Previous Rank/Craft: Apprentice Smith Physical Description: He's tall. 6'2 and weighs 200lbs. He's nothing but muscle and well proportioned at that. Most would give him a rugged look since he has dark brown hair that is often scruffy and a 5'oclock shadow that never seems to go away. He's also quite handsome in the aspect of having a chiseled jawline and striking, amber colored eyes. His hands are a tad rough from having been a smith when he was younger, and handling dragons doesn't make them any softer. Despite his muscular appearance he can move quickly when he needs to. Personality: Calm and sincere he is quick witted and has a knack with thinking on his toes. When he was younger he was outspoken and brash but he soon outgrew that type of behavior, especially after he impressed. The dragon had enough energy for the two of them. He's forgiving to an extent and doesn't have a whole lot to say most of the time. He does love conversation from time to time, but mostly he's studying weather patterns and making plans for whenever the next threadfall shall be. He likes to be prepared and tries to stay a couple steps ahead in the game.
He's not one for relationships, though when flights happen things tend to get a little steamy. No one really has ever caught his eye and besides, being a rider you weren't encouraged to ever marry or find a significant other. There was too much going on for him to have to worry about someone else. Though, if someone were to catch his eye he wouldn't let them go for anything and he hoped they would be understanding that strange things tend to happen when dragons rise to mate. Positive Trait List Loyal, Determined, Level Headed Negative Trait List Selective, Brash, Authoritative History: He was the sole child to a widowed Smith and he fell in line to be his fathers replacement. He had taken to the craft quickly and loved working with his hands and working with iron and other metals. However, it didn't seem as though it was meant to be. When he was just about to hit 16 turns he was searched and the day of his birthday he impressed.
It hadn't been something he had ever dreamed of. Being a dragonrider. But once the rainbow eyes had locked with his and Tarenoth became a part of him, he couldn't imagine every being anything different.
The years to follow were grueling and he loved every minute of it. He absorbed all of the lessons like a sponge and often enough had to keep his young hot headed dragon in line reminding him that if they were to become destined for greatness then they had to act the part. It took Tarenoth a while to come around but finally the Bronzes temper simmered and the two seemed to sky rocket ahead of the rest of the weyrlings. Once Tarenoth had gotten his temper checked it seemed as though there wasn't anything the pair could not do.
They rose up the ranks from wingrider to wingsecond and finally to wingleader all in the course of a few short years. They had liked the roles they had played in each spot because it had given them a better knowledge of the jobs that each position held. It gave them an insight to the minds of those who flew in those slots and to him, that made him a better wingleader than having been promoted to it right off the bat.
Having recently transferred since Western Weyr wasn't exactly what he and Tarenoth needed and wanted from a Weyr. He's still getting used to not having a wing to run anymore. Other: Was born and raised in Crom but went to Western Weyr when he impressed and then transferred to HR.

DRAGON Name: Tarenoth Age: 13 Color: Bronze Size: 45' Physical Description: He has a long neck that starts out thick and muscular towards the neck and shoulders and then slims out as it comes towards his elegant head. The same goes for his tail, strong and wide at the base and thin and whip-like at the end. His wings are powerful and slightly larger than that of the average bronze. His body is muscular but not too thick and he's quick and powerful when in the air. He is the epitome of agile and has strength behind him as well. Personality: He was destined for greatness. He was aware of it from the beginning and he had sought out those same traits in his rider. He wanted to shape and help mold him so that they would rise up the ranks and be great leaders. At first, in his younger years he was quite arrogant. He was a hot head and was quick to lash out at the others if he felt they were out of line. Everything had to be his way and he wanted it done his way or he would not be satisfied. His rider had to help him overcome this obstacle in his life and together they helped each other through their weaknesses. By the time he was 4 the bronze had calmed down and was mostly silent unless he had something worth saying. There is no point to wasting time with idle chit chat. It is something he still believes in today. He isn't quick to judge but if you wrong him it will take him a long time to come around. And if anyone so much as lays a hand on his rider you will have the wrath of a very angry bronze at your back. One thing he will not tolerate is unnecessary violence and he will put a stop to it in his own ways if it isn't handled properly. He will fly anything, even though he fancies the Golds the most. What dragon doesn't. They are the Dragon that all males wish to pro-create with, but if he can catch a green or two when they rise as well, the more the merrier. He's all about ensuring the best genes are bred for thread fighters and while the Golds are type priority he won't turn down a green flight when they occur. Dragon Art or Proof of Obtainment:

Hey Astoria!
So you've got a really good start. I do have a small request. Going forward would you please try to use our shop character application? Here It gives us all the information we need right in one place and better helps us figure out if a character is good to go in our setting. gaia_star
Right now you need to add an actual location -- sounds like High Reaches? His rank should also be Wingrider, no matter what title he previously held.
Your bronze also need a dedicated size based on our size chart on the front page.
Otherwise, things look pretty good. Where exactly did he grow up and what Weyr did he Impress at and rise up in ranks as Wingleader? Keep in mind almost all the Weyr in Echoes of Pern had been abandoned and only recently rebanded with the (very recent) return of Thread.
High Reaches, Western Weyr, and Southern Weyr were the only three official Weyrs that never disbanded, but a few had skeleton crews or were kept open for tourism purposes. You can read up on the little writes up we have here if you want to figure out where he's from. gaia_star
If you could also link in the transfer posts as the method of obtainment, that would be great, so we can make sure you really DID transfer them into our shop officially. gaia_star
Last but not least, if he was a Wingleader why did he transfer Weyrs? Like I understand he has to OOCly since you're not allowed to transfer in a ranking persona, but you will have to come up with either a reason he left his last Weyr to go to High Reaches, or some IC reason. It could be just about anything so long as it makes sense -- new Weyrleader management, new Flight Leader, needed a change, was tired of rank, etc. Threadfall did just recently begin about 8 months ago so it's possible that could have had something to do with it too.
He's close to being approved, we just need to make sure he fits into our world and that missing information is added. Thanks!

I think he's good now? Wasn't sure when that weyr closed down that I said he came from, but I can change it to something else if it's been closed for like a super long time XD

Hey Astoria,
Super close to being complete but I think there might be some confusion. Monaco Weyr had closed down after Threadfall finished, so like 1000 Turns ago. It was used mostly as a check point station for riders who were going to explore that side of the continent, but it really wasn't an official Weyr anymore. It's also very possible that its Hatching Sands had been used for queens in the area, but as they weren't an official Weyr, there was no way for him to rise up the ranks.
The Weyrs have only just come back into power this past Turn when Thread returned. The only Weyrs that were official and had never been abandoned were Southern Weyr, High Reaches Weyr, and Western Weyr.
Ista Weyr was mostly a retirement community.
Benden Weyr had been a tourist trap and kind of just a place to boast of its history and heritage, and was used as a Hatching Ground for dragons in the area.
I've got write ups here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=25043827
You could have them come from a made-up and now closed down weyrhold? You can just make something up. Some weyrhold down in the Southern Continent that tried to stick with traditional riders of rank, but with a need for riders to return to official Weyrs to learn how to fight thread, that might have been its doom.
Otherwise he could have come from Southern or Western. Those are the other two that might have kept up with the conventional ranking system. If he needed a reason to leave it's possible he wanted to join up with High Reaches, because they are currently the only Weyr that seems to know how to handle Threadfall. Everyone's looking at High Reaches Weyr right now because they were right; and hey were the ones that fared the best with Thread's return.
Let me know if you have any questions. I promise he's close, we just have to iron out that portion of his history to match the Echoes of Pern world. gaia_star
