The evening was drawing to an end - at least the end as far as Sailor Duhr's patrolling went, that is. She'd managed to successfully make her way to the Waffle House and back into her seedy neighborhood without spotting so much as one little, pesky looking youma, so the tall, gangly blonde had considered the night to be a successful triumph. And, what better way to celebrate a triumph than to have some celebratory waffles involved? So there she sat, atop the roof of one of the neighboring apartment buildings, heels kicking into the air as she tore off a piece of another plain, cold waffle and popped it into her mouth. There wasn't a way to bring any syrup with her on patrol, but that was okay - waffles were okay any way you ate them, if you really loved them enough. Blue eyes glanced up to the sky and she watched the stars twinkle up above as she slowly chewed on her snack. Patrolling alone was growing more and more incredibly lonely the longer she did it, but at least she had the bright, shining moon above for company, along with its thousands of tiny little shimmering friends. Whimsical Blue SO it started a little late but it's still technically done on the promised day! WHOO HOO

Patroling alone was not so bad when you had a city abuzz with life around you, and the knowledge a handful of people were only a senshi phone call away if you needed them. After months spent in the isolation of a small, bare room on a cold, dead planet, Ida took comfort in the sounds of traffic, music and people out and about.
It was against her own advice that she did her rounds alone, but it was hard to get everyone, or even just someone, together to do regular patrols with, and far easier to just go whenever she had a spare moment. Homework to catch up on the classes she’d missed had taken her a good portion of the evening to complete, but she’d finally set them aside to fulfill this self-imposed duty. Things were surprisingly quiet, which was nice, and the orchid senshi had covered much of her route in a relatively short time. No officers accosted people in out-of-the-way corners, no youma prowled where she could get even a whiff of them. With the allure of her energy signature, no youma was a very pleasant change from the usual.
With time to spare, Ida range further than planned, crossing downtown and looping back past a small business section and an older neighborhood. She’d thought for sure she’d find something here, but the worst had been a gooey spider youma that had dropped on her passing under an overpass. It’d dusted in one shot from her magic’s bow, leaving the transcendent no worse for the wear.
If only all nights passed this way.
The only other thing she found was a little beacon of light, drawing her attention and curiosity, and Ida followed it to find a blonde head of curls sitting on the edge of a building, eating… a waffle?
“Hey there!” Ida called as she approached, her glowing arm lifted to wave cheerfully. A couple of quick steps and a long jump brought her to the rooftop and she slowed her approach till she got an idea of her reception.

The voice was accompanied by a warm, comforting feeling. It was almost relaxing, knowing there was another powerful being on her side that had arrived and not some dastardly monster comin' to muck up everything again. Her head turned, blonde curls bouncing with the motion as a wide grin spread across her face. "Well howdy there!" The young woman was beautiful, without a shadow of a doubt. As the Transcendent Eternal neared, Duhr couldn't help but continue to stare at the vision standing in front of her. She'd seen plenty of fancy lookin' outfits on senshi and knights alike, but this one looked almost like a darn flower, herself. But uniform aside, there was a soft glow that caught the attention of curious blue eyes. "Wowsers. Lookit those tattoos - man, are they glowin', even??" What in the world would this magical world of theirs come up with, next? Stuffing the rest of her current waffle into her mouth, she made quick work of the fluffy food and swallowed, using her newly freed hand to offer a wave back to the girl. "Ah'm Duhr. Pleasure ta make your acquaintance, ma'am!"

There was a wide smile on a young face to greet her and Ida relaxed, her stride returning to a normal pace. That smile had an infectious quality to it and it called a smile to her own face. It was nice to see someone open and friendly... she felt like she hadn't seen enough of that lately.
"Oh!" Ida blinked as she paused for a moment, flicking a glance down to her arm before she laughed. Having attention called to them reminded her she even had them. After nearly two years... had it really been two years?; She nearly forgot the strangeness when she approached someone new. "Ah yeah, they're glowing."
The transcended closed the remainder of the distance to sink down into a crouch beside the basic senshi, waving the hand that glowed beneath the fancy amber cabochon seated on the back of it.
"I'm Ida. Its nice to meet you. I kinda forget my arm glows... its called Transcendence, there are a few of us who glow now. Do you patrol around here? I don't get out this way very often... How long have you been a senshi?" Despite the urge to babble all about Transcendence and what had happened to someone who didn't know yet, Ida restrained herself and settled for more... normal questions to start with. No sense scaring the new girl off with a bit... too much enthusiasm.
The explosion of curls were delightful.. all big and poofy, framing the small form. Ida tucked her hands behind her as she smoothed her skirts down, keeping them close against her hips while she crouched. Down below, traffic passed in blissful ignorance, offering a comforting sound of life going on around them.

The senshi seemed just as lady-like as she looked, making Duhr self consciously move to brush out her own skirt in a mimicked fashion. Coarse fingers fumbled with the lace on her skirt that always felt like it was tryin' to swallow up everything else, blonde ringlets taunting her as they bounced in both corners of her vision. She didn't know what Transcendence meant, but it sounded downright delightful. Although, it did present a whole slew of questions - did that meant she glowed all the time? Did they ever turn off? Did it hurt to get them? How many had them? Probably not terribly many, if this was just the first one Duhr'd managed to run into... "Ah've been around for a bit, but ain't nothing special or anything like that." One leg kicked out aimlessly as she continued to dangle, glancing over to the other girl as her arms moved back to support the force of her leg's movement. "Been mostly just between here and work - Ah figure everyone else has everything looked after, right?" Oh hell's bells. Were they supposed to be assigned areas or somethin'? Her nose scrunched up at the thought. This gig should've come with an instruction booklet or something. Derp had told her the basics, but other than makin' sure the bad guys got what was comin' to them, Duhr was plum plain in the dark about things. "What about you? Are you from around here?"

Brown arms came down to rest across her knees as Ida considered the questions.
“I think most areas are covered. There isn’t like, a list or anything of people’s patrol routes though, so its kind of hard to say.” She said as she lifted and dropped a shoulder under the cowl she wore. Her smile softened the words. “I try to cover as much ground as I can, just in case. You do what you can, no one can really expect more than that.”
“I’m sort of from here, but across town a bit, in one of the neighborhoods with all the little business and stuff. My Da owns a flower show, and I’m attending DCU. I try to make that area all part of my patrol route, but when I have time, I make it out here once in a while. I like stretching out once in awhile. Its good for meeting new people, at least.” An arm lifted and she pointed back the way she came, waving to include the general area of the florist shop and the university.
“Do you usually patrol alone?” Ida asked when she dropped her hand again. It wasn’t an uncommon method, for their kind. Dangerous, but that never seemed to stop any of them. “Have you had much trouble around here? I dusted a youma on the way over, but that’s sort of normal for me. I seem to draw them out of the wood work.”

She nodded her head, feeling a sense of relief at the knowledge that she hadn't been screwin' up royally or anything. Being out of the loop, social circle wise, meant that she tended to be last when it came to learning new things... or anything, really. But at the end of the day, she beat up monsters and defended the innocent - wasn't that the point? "Ah..." She hesitated, furrowing her brows as she considered the question the other woman posed. "Ah don't tend to work with others, but that's mostly 'cause my partner is busy studyin' and stuff. She's still in high school." And Ah got kicked out of mine, she thought gloomily. Even this pretty woman in front of her was still going to school - did this mean that Duhr was supposed to be fighting more crime, while the others worked on improving their own lives? Since she wasn't one for taking classes anymore? "Ah'm not afraid or anything, if that's what ya mean." She lifted her chin up, as if to emphasize her courage. Truthfully, fighting monsters was the easy part. It was figuring out how to be an adult that scared the pants off of Sailor Duhr.

Ida’s eyes widened and she lifted her hands, palm out, to wave off that suggestion.
“No! I don’t mean to imply that. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being afraid, either. Um… I guess if anything…” She said, hesitating. “I’m more worried if you’re one of those who thinks they’re too smart, or strong, or indestructible to need back up.”
Her arms dropped to wrap around her knees and she fiddled with her fingers, her thumb running across her knuckles.
“I learned the hard way, you know? That its really dangerous out here, for someone alone. Its especially dangerous for lower level people, because you’ve got two whole ranks of the Negaverse and Dark Mirror who are stronger, faster and harder to beat than you are. Its still dangerous even for people who are at third rank… the Negaverse can teleport and its too easy for them to call in reinforcements and overwhelm you.” She said. “I just… everything bad that’s ever happened to me, it happened while I was alone. That’s all. I started working with a couple other senshi, going on patrols together and stuff, and we’ve always been there to pull each other out of tough situations.”
So many people she’d told the same thing, and so few that seemed to really listen to it… she could have shown her scars as proof, but the eternal was skeptical it would help. You couldn’t force people to be more careful… only offer your advice and experience. It was frustrating, for how little she felt like she could do sometimes.
“I’m glad you have a partner, even if you don’t patrol together all the time. If you ever want another, you know… I could probably find someone who patrols the same areas who might want to team up for it.”
