Fifteen year old Terry couldn't believe he was going around, exploring some strange, foreign land with a girl. He ought to be happy and giddy and trying not to throw up from excitement. Instead he was maintaining his usual blank, distanced look while trying not to throw up from anxiety over the whole situation.
With the party on the third floor and the first floor devoid of people, he went back to twitter and was glad to find that Caroline had posted a map of the place. The question was did he trust the older woman? She seemed nice and helpful and caring. Or was she like Granny Sweet and was actually one of the worst evils on this island by manipulating the helpless and frightened into going somewhere that they will get hurt as part of some nefarious scheme?
A more confident individual would have taken the risk of choosing. Terry, unfortunately had always been the bland beta-male support, which was why he turned to the one with an actual personality to make the decision. "Do you believe this map is accurate?"

Kim peered down at the screen offered to her and frowned a bit. She tried to figure out where they were on the whole thing but was hopelessly baffled. The real bad thing was trying not to admit she had no sense of direction. "Eh, it looks like it could be good." The fourteen year old girl kind of ran one hand through her light brown hair and shrugged a bit. "Uh.. so this place we are going, is that place called the cove or whatever?" She pointed to a spot on the map. Strangely she was taking the whole walking alone with a boy thing in stride, seeing as she really saw him as a potential friend, but there was something, he was kind of puppy cute, in the way that some small dogs have a blank look on their faces while trying to be nice.

Terry shrugged, "If that's what the map labels it as, then it might as well be. Unless you think Caroline providing us with this information is because of some ulterior motive." He just had to throw that out there. Not because he was paranoid and distrustful (or not by that much). Agata cooed softly to Terry, promising him that she had no ulterior motive and that he can trust her completely. It's not like she was going anywhere.
"Why? Do you remember something about it?" he asked his fellow human being.

Kimberly frowned a little as she looked at the map. It was labeled as the Cove but.. hmm weird name. It sounded like a place where there should have been water or ships. "No, just, coves are where pirates gather right?" She arched a brow. "Maybe we will be mobbed by a group of pirates?" Chinthliss gave a snorting sound that clearly said he was positive she was a fool. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. "Fine, so I sound dumb.." She very clearly remembered nothing of what the place was for, and didn't like that she felt she was being mocked by the voice in her mind. She took one more glance at the map and nearly stalked off, but rather than alone she grabbed at Terry's arm pulling him along. "The sooner we get there the sooner we may find answers and this voice in my head is sooo .. ugh..." huni pi Kim is going to do the trading card game playing. :3

Terry stared down at Kim and with utmost sincerity and seriousness stated "Ninjas are cooler," before he let the younger teen drag his a** towards the cove. "But if it's One Piece type of pirates, let's hope we get mobbed by non Devil Fruit users. I don't know how we'll be able to defend ourselves otherwise."
A beat and Terry remembered reading something interesting on twitter but didn't think to mention it just yet. Maybe he misunderstood it and would require a sauce-check.Steal I need to set up but I'm tossing Terry into the TCG 8D

Kim was a bit startled when Terry mentioned One Piece and started laughing. "Knowing my luck I would end up face to face with Fire Fist Ace and get my a** handed to me. Or worse like.. Dragon would come up and own me seriously." She started laughing harder and shook her head. "If it was ninjas we would like end up facing the cast of Naruto and end up the same way.. luck seems to really suck right now." She kept pulling him along by one wrist though not as forceful, she actually seemed a bit more happy, her eyes sparkling a bit as she took the turns. "I think the worst scenario would be a mob of like.. Naruto ninja, devil fruit pirates and Yu-gi-oh standing there like all Yami Yugi ordering us to play a game." At least she didn't have to hide the whole liking anime thing. "Oh, or freaken Sephiroth.. he kicked my butt in FF7" huni pi I challenge you to a children's card game! To the death.. O.O

"Not necessarily," Terry countered, because oh boy, canon-lore characterization! He was more than willing to go into interpretations of the manga versus the anime and his heart skipped a beat at the scenario Kim presented. He couldn't tell if it was the best crossover fanfic plot ever or if it was the fantasy equivalent of a tire-fire.
"He was worse in Kingdom Hearts."
They continued on and Terry was slowly starting to relax as they moved further towards the cove. Agata started feeling restless though, and Terry had the strangest sensation of swimming in murky depths.Steal I put washing detergent in attack mode.

Kim tapped her bottom lip as she thought about that, and started walking backwards. "Oh yeah KH he was really nasty, I did like his final form in FF7 though." She laughed. "Then again it was such a limit when you are in FF cause you can't dodge." She smiled. 'If ALL of them are waiting I think we will be so killed." She sighed. "Sorry I won't be able to save you." The cove was just down the way now and she was still walking backwards." The buzzing in her mind was getting worse as if the voice was getting hyper. huni pi Nooo I summon dirty dishes in attack mode!

"Careful," Terry said, reaching out for the younger teen's arm when he spotted the stairs leading down. "Falling down steps and breaking your neck would make you a Darwin Awardee and that would suck."

Kim drew up short a moment before she would have found herself toppling down the stairs and likely braining herself. Darwin award indeed, she would have won for sure. "Thanks, that would have sucked." She spun on her toes, sneakers squeaking a bit as she turned toward the stairs and jumped down a few at a time. "Okay, here goes everything. If there is a boss in there.. I am just telling you now, there is no shame in screaming your head off." She inhaled sharply, squeezed her eyes shut and opened the door.

That blank expression returned on Terry's face because he was appropriate freaking out over Kim's sheer disregard to potential danger. Bad enough that they didn't know what was in store, but that Terry had watched enough shows to know that he was definitely the type to die first. Usually as a result of something the passionate, headstrong protagonist did.
s**t.
I don't like this place, Agata whined, the intensity of her discomfort so pronounced that Terry found himself struggling to breathe.
"Wait, w-wait up," he gasped.

Impulsively stupid, thy name is Kimberly Whitmore. She paused only long enough to let Terry catch up to her before prancing right into the... stark, bland room with so many stone tablets around. A humming started in her mind and the voice that had been annoying her changed into silence for a moment before joining the hum, as if prompting her. She stared at the room and slowly started to walk, her hand reaching, seeking something. "..." She found herself being pulled, the feeling that she needed to touch some of the tablets, but each one she did felt cold and dead and made her recoil. A feeling of wrongness to them. No words could cover the feeling. It was like playing hide and seek, a deep sensation of 'find me' but so much more intense, perhaps like needing to find your own arms or legs. "Where....?"

Terry wordlessly followed after Kim, trying to normalize his breathing but Agata's own freakout was not helping matters. This whole place deeply, deeply unsettled the disembodied voice in Terry's head and it made the teen want to GTFO yesterday.
"Kim, there's nothing here, can we go?" still that blank face but the timbre of Terry's voice had taken a pitch towards desperate despite this being the first time for the request.

To Kim herself her voice felt like it was coming from far away. She kept walking seeking. "No, there is something in one of these..." She reached and finally an electric thrill ran through her as he hand touched a particular stone and the voice in her mind sighed. This.. this was... "There you are... I was waiting Kim" It was still in her mind but felt closer. Oh.... Then, her hand wasn't empty, not any longer and it felt like a puzzle piece slid into place. This was right.. somehow.. She was holding Chinthliss again, for the first time? "W-wow..."

Terry told himself he wasn't going to whine because whiners never won anything and would always be one of the first targets. He ordered himself not to whine, which was a sentiment that Agata did not share. She found herself completely justified in her incessant want to leave and made it very clear to the fleshbag she'd anchored herself on.
"You ready to go now, Kim?" Terry asked from the bottom of the steps, his voice echoing in the chamber.
