It had always weighed on Fon’s mind. He had a good paying job, had graduated school and was pretty secure in his life. So for the last couple of years he had been pondering children. However there was something that stopped him every time. Something that made him hesitate to go to an imbuing clinic. First was Fon knew he wasn’t the most nurturing person but then tons of people had been that way and you saw them with their child and you could hardly believe they were the same person. So who wasn’t to say Fon wouldn’t have been the same way. Which lead into the second problem. Fon, while having a good paying job wasn’t the most lawful person in the world. He was part of the mafia. He was actually really high up in the mafia world so any child of his would be a target. Even worse being so high up he was constantly a target. Who wasn’t to say he would imbue and then get killed walking home a week later leaving the child parentless. Fon wasn’t heartless and so his was his main reason for not imbuing.
However there was a need to leave something behind. To leave some part of him still in the world even if he was shot the other day. When Vanna had gotten infected it had brought it home. Vanna was one of the strongest people he had ever known and he was Fon’s best friend. He had almost lost his friend just like that.
So he had talked with two friends of his who were married. They had their own family so they knew how to raise children and they knew what Fon did. They had already agreed to take in his adopted son if anything ever happened and Nasai had promised to take care of any biologically related children. Every back up plan was in place. Now it was just time to get the stone.
