Who: Ethiriel and LuLu
When: Midafternoon during the weekend
Where: A cozy teashop in Barton
Weather: Overcast with light rain showers
LuLu blew the steam rolling off of her cup of tea and brought it in closer for a sip. She looked over the brim of the cup towards the storefront. The view outside was obscured by raindrops dotting the windows. The rabbit watched as a few collected size then slowly rolled down the glass.
Her eyes then went to glance at the clock on her cell phone. It was still a few minutes until their meeting time. She had decided to leave for the tea shop early due to the weather today. In fact, she had just missed the start of the shower by mere minutes. She hoped Eth had not gotten caught in the rainstorm.

Unlike Lulu, Ethiriel hadn't quite avoided the rain, but she didn't mind. While normally she would have walked with Nedhudir, Henry decided that he would give the Sigel a ride rather than getting either the dog or Raevan wet (not that Ethiriel minded, she loved the rain). As she hovered out of the passenger side door, Henry holding it open for her, Ethiriel opened her umbrella to keep her from getting rained on between there and the door. Once she was inside and safe from the chilled air, she and Henry parted ways.
Familiar with the Raevan, one of the workers rushed over to greet her and put away the umbrella. There was a second of idle chatter as the young teen removed Ethiriel's coat and led her to her friend sitting quietly at their booth for the evening. He was waved off and left the two Raevans to themselves.
"Hello, Lulu," Ethiriel greeted warmly, taking her seat across from the rabbit. It had been a couple of years since they saw each other at the New Year's party and she recalled only being a Frei at that time, so she couldn't help but show off her stomach in a nicely fitting, deep blue sweater. Without even asking, the same young teen brought her a hot cup of water, to which she nodded and thanked him kindly. "It has been so long! I was surprised to hear from you! I hope you have been well?"

LuLu floated out of her seat and went to greet the other sigel with a quick hug. The rabbit immediately took notice of the other raevan's new waist and could not help but show her approval with a round of clapping. "Eth! You look amazing." Lu returned to her seat but could not help but bob a few inches above the cushion with excitement. "When did it happen?"
She reached for her tea again and brought it towards her lips as she spoke, "I am glad we could meet again. I have been well. Are you staying busy?"

The hug was greatly appreciated and Ethiriel took it happily. At Lu's clapping, she responded by offering a small bow in her seat with a smile. "Thank you, Lulu. I feel amazing." Hearing the rabbit's bouncing, the tea Sigel couldn't help but stifle a smile. "Perhaps almost a year ago? It feels as if it has been a long time, but also mere days ago. Things have been all over the place."
Ethiriel nodded at Lu's sentiments, finding her own cup of water to delicately rest her fingers in. "I am glad to hear that. It had been so long since I had heard from you, it was a surprise to receive a message out of the blue. I am very pleased you reached out," she said softly, fingers idly tracing the lip of her mug. "I have been somewhat busy, yes. Henry suggested I volunteer at the hospital, so I have been doing so. It keeps me occupied, which I appreciate. What of you? What has kept you busy?"

LuLu gasped aloud at Eth's response. "A year!" However, it was not all that surprising to her that the other sigel was still getting used to the change. In fact, the rabbit could still remember her initial excitement after she had acquired a pair of hips. That giddy feeling hung around her for a long while before the novelty mostly wore off.
In contrast, she was still adjusting to her relatively new living arrangements in Barton. It was a mixed blessing, and things were certainly different without Sevillin and We'rika waiting around the corner to push her buttons. LuLu smiled somberly at Etheriel "It is nice that everyone is staying busy," she paused, "But... there is too much distance lately. It gets lonelier in Barton than in Aekea. Thank you for making time."
LuLu's voice returned to its normal upbeat tenor, "The hospital! They have you playing nurse there? I have been doing a bit of this and that. Mostly shopping." A giggle punctuated her sentence.

"Lonely..." Ethiriel mused under her breath, her gaze idly drifting in thought. She supposed that was true, but she had always been a relatively solo Raevan and most of the time it was never noticed. She let out a hum and smiled. "It is certainly a pleasure. Anytime you feel the need for company, please do contact me. I could use more time with others."
The younger Sigel nodded before making a vague noise of consideration, followed by a slight laugh. "In a way. I am unable to offer medical assistance, but I am able to spend time with patients and make them more comfortable. It is almost like therapy for them, I think would be the best way to explain." Ethiriel then tilted her head, her chin resting on her knuckles. "You should describe your fashion sense to me. Then again, I have no comparison. I honestly do not even know how Henry dresses me," she said with another laugh, flashing her teeth in a pleased grin.

LuLu was definitely the type that fed on the energy of others, and being in a group was where she felt the most comfortable. When she was by herself, she had the unfortunate tendency to get too wrapped up in her own thoughts. Her eyes lit up at Eth's offer and she nodded graciously, "Thank you. I could use the company, too."
The rabbit giggled, "That makes sense. You would brighten up any dull hospital." LuLu pursed her lips as she thought of just the right words that could illustrate the other sigel's style in a way she would understand. "Hmm... I would describe your style like... a spring breeze. Soft and refreshing!" She continued, "I can't really describe my style in a way that make sense." The pout in her voice was nearly tangible.

"I wouldn't say that," Ethiriel giggled, waving Lulu's comment off playfully. "I mostly calm anxious children. They are rather fond of me, though."
Pondering over Lulu's description, Ethiriel tried to imagine just what she meant. Her clothes were always weather appropriate, but from what she'd heard from others, Henry usually put her in nice, seasonal colors. Not that it meant much to her -- she couldn't even remember which one was which. Still, she smiled back. "Then I suppose that would mean that your style is particularly yours, would it not?"
Idly twirling her spoon in her fingers, Ethiriel watched her silver rings idly. "I do so long for Spring to arrive. The cold has gone on far enough, yes? Luckily my sunroom still leaves me with some warmth in the sun."

LuLu considered Eth's words, but ultimately agreed , "You could say that. It is just hard to settle on one style." She teased, "You do not have to worry about things like that though. Henry does a good job for you."
She nodded at Eth's sentiment, "It will be here soon. Then summer after that! Maybe the Lab will set up another beach party this year? I wonder how many new faces there will be..."Lu's went to take another sip of her tea, and was surprised to find the cup nearly empty. Just how much time had passed? The sigel glanced at her phone. She was shocked to learn that almost two hours had swept by without a trace. Time certainly did fly by when you were with good company.

"Well, that is certainly a relief," Ethiriel said with a hum of a laugh, smiling pleasantly at Lulu. Despite having a stomach now, her water -- or rather, now tea -- was mostly untouched save for the few times she soaked her fingers in it. "He does keep my comfort in mind, but I am pleased that he makes me look presentable."
Closing her eyes, Ethiriel hummed again as she imagined the warmer seasons approaching. "Perhaps! It certainly would be lovely. I have met a few new Raevans lately, so there is a chance that there are many more. I would love to get to know them."
Ethiriel had little need of checking the time; she had nowhere to be other than home, but with the climate control within the building it was hard for her to gauge the time by temperature. She did hear the rustling for Lulu's phone and her milky eyes settled forward.
"Do forgive me if I have taken too much of your time. If you are in need of leaving, do not feel obligated to stay!"

Upon Eth's remark, the rabbit shuffled her cell back into her purse. Though her friend would be unable to see it, an embarrassed flush lit up her face. "Ah, sorry! It is not that at all!" Her pitch hit an octave higher that normal. Lu cleared her throat and continued, "I was having so much fun I did not realize how much time had passed."She glanced outside and noticed the rain had finally stopped. However, some gloomy clouds still filled the sky as a promise of more rain to come. "It is probably is a good time to head home before the rain starts again. I still feel bad you got soaked on your way here."LuLu rose out of her seat, "We should meet again soon."

With a laugh, Ethiriel daintily waved her hand and said, "It is quite alright." She nodded in agreement, and at the sound of Lulu rising, she rose as well. "Do not worry, I am fond of the rain. Wet clothing has never harmed me."
Ethiriel offered her hand to the rabbit, beaming happily as she did so. "I would very much like that. Perhaps you could come to my home next time? If you are interested, I would love to show you my sun room." The Sigel pair then hovered towards the door, where Ethiriel offered a hug in parting.
"Until next time?"

The rabbit took Ethiriel's hand and led her towards the exit. "I would love to see it," she giggled, "You know how to reach me."
She shared the hug with her friend. "Until then!" As she finished her last words, LuLu slipped out of the cafe. A smile was spread across her lips.
