Well, she was here - a little worse for ware perhaps, but she was alive. Suu'marle had obviously marched the poor noble the whole way from the Al-siq to the forward camps. Thalyssra looked like a complete mess, positively exhausted, and not inclined towards small talk. Unfortunately when it came to this particular set of circumstances she really had no other choice than to brief and be briefed on the current situation. After all, she knew about as much of the Scourge as he did about the current political stability of his own home.
Thus has she had drawn in to camp he had made his way back, finally coming face to face with one of the representatives who had been selected to represent those within his territories. She seemed kindly enough, if a little flustered, but she certainly didn't have the same demeanour that the world's most popular noble had. He could breathe a sigh of relief at this, at the very least the Politico tended to remember their place, or rather those from his region did even if others liked to have aspirations towards something much more grand.
...There was something about the capital, it seemed that once they moved there they began to get ideas.
"You must be Thalyssra," he spoke at last once he had finished surveying the lioness and taking note of her condition. She didn't need any medical help, but she and Suu'marle had clearly come on their own. It meant that Gideon and Adar were still in the thick of it.

She had never actually met a Justicar, she'd heard descriptions of them from older lions who might have worked near them, but for the most part they'd always kept to themselves. She wasn't sure what she'd been expecting, truthfully she could do nothing more than stare at him as he spoke. He was, and wasn't, everything she thought he would look like. It might have made no sense to those around her, but it made sense to her. Here stood a lion who was regal, but not quite as imposing as she had anticipated. Had he deliberately made himself less imposing when she entered the camp, or was he simply this approachable in general?
She wasn't entirely sure, but there was certainly something that commanded respect and as Suu'marle had parted ways with her to retrieve something for them both to eat and drink, she had been left in the company of someone she now most certainly owed her life to. He was so far from home, hell she was so far from home. She had absolutely no idea how she'd gotten here either; she'd set about following after Suu'marle and no sooner had they started to move than they were here. She'd been too focused on keeping up with the brisk stride of the green lioness that she hadn't really paid heed to where she was going.
Suffice it to say that without assistance, there was no way home.
"I suppose I must be," she agreed at last and offered a weak smile. She couldn't help but take a seat, her paws aching from the march that had taken her across several pride territories and the gods knew how many miles. "And you must be one of our missing Justicars," she concluded and tilted her head to the side. "Destati," she added, indicating that she might have been aware of his name even if his identity had been a mystery to her.

"That seems to be a running theme, yes," Destati confirmed. "And the missing Justicar you are referring to is alive and well, he's merely attending to more important matters that most definitely do not need to be on the radar of either the Politico or the noble castes," he pointed out. Whether Thalyssra liked it or not, the Justicars operated independently of the rest of the nation and for the most part, nobody tended to question them. They rarely involved themselves in the day to day life disputes, thus they didn't effect anyone's life... or that was the understanding most individuals had.
It was testament to how well the Justicars operated, that no one was aware of when they struck or how it was achieved. Truth be told, if Adar performed well, then no one would even know that it was a Justicar that had sent him to cause havoc. Destati was rather looking forward to that report, alongside that of Gideon who would hopefully come back with something as well.
"But you are welcome," he added and raised his brow ever so slightly. "You were voted in by the people for consecutive years and you represent them to the best of your ability," he paused, albeit briefly. "The nobles might think your life is forfeit but the vast majority of the general populace does not," he nodded to Suu'marle as she set food down beside the lioness and proceeded to move towards locating a water source.
"Unfortunately that does mean you are going to have to make yourself comfortable here for a time until we have dealt with the scourge," he pursed his lips thoughtfully. "The break from politics will probably do you good, though would I be right in assuming you would prefer not to be on the frontlines? There are several locations that might be more suitable for someone of your tastes, and they are certainly distant enough that the Al-Siq will not look for you there."
...Hopefully. Provided that no one had seem them leave that was.
Perhaps he should send Adar out once more to sweep the area when he returned; the black lion certainly had a knack for locating a spy or six.Words: 371 Total Words (Des): 641

Thalyssra raised a brow at his remarks, she'd always been a loyalist to the Justicars but there was something slightly disturbing about the manner in which they operated. The fact that they seemed to conduct their business with such secrecy that they deemed the democratically elected unworthy of an update on their activities was concerning. She could see why some of the nobles within her caste had always regarded them with distaste and suspicion, they seemed to be in a world of their own, consisting of their own rules and their own laws. One thing was for sure, that they typically didn't follow the laws of the land put in place by the Politico.
...She'd heard of times when such rules had been ignored more than once. No one had died as a consequence, but the Justicars had dismissed the government with such force that it had been made abundantly clear that there were some things they could not touch. Admittedly she hadn't much liked those laws either, and the abrupt manner in which the Justicars had refused them had ensured that the weaker politico had felt secure enough to repeal it when the motion was put forward.
That aside, she couldn't help but wonder what he meant by the missing Justicar's activities.
What she could surmise was that the war upon the Scourge was taking a much longer time than anticipated. With a Justicar and his entire collective otherwise engaged in containing them out here, and the rest attempting to contain them within the Al-siq, this scourge assault seemed different than the others... It was as if something just wouldn't give and provide them with the headway they needed to make progress.
"So it's not going as well as you would have hoped then," she replied gently and shook her head. "I am of no use to anyone in war," she confirmed. "But if you have a place in mind for me where it is safe until such times as I can return, then I will go there," she confirmed.
Destati gave a nod.
"I am not particularly good at pretending to be something I'm not though so perhaps, no undercover stories?" she hazarded uncertainly.
"You may tell those you stay with who you are," he paused for a time and smiled. "Perhaps it will be useful for them to learn about their heritage." He could do nothing more than laugh at her startled reaction and gave a nod. "Suu'marle, would you be so kind as to escort Thalyssra to the Bahari'mtoto."
A pause.
"My son should still be there, it's near the abandoned Maestros Lands," he concluded.
"Your son?" she declared in surprise.
"He has twins," Suu'marle explained as she set the 'plate' of water down. "It has been several years," she pointed out.
"It would seem it has..." Thalyssra uttered faintly.Words: 476 Total Words (Thal): 815
