She was home, and in record time at that. Now that she knew where she was supposed to be going, the avian could easily navigate back and forth towards the Al-siq and her Justicar's forward camp. While she had a more vital message to communicate to the Politico, the Justicars would no doubt be relieved to hear that they once again had an open channel to the one who was currently beyond their reach. The Justicars may have been competent and strong as individuals, but as a unit they were far more powerful... to lose one was to cut a portion of their strength away with noticeable effects.
Shuurei sincerely hoped that now Destati had been briefed on the situation, he would be able to supply the Justicars with some much needed support. His territories were safe but not entirely unaffected by the chaos. More than one of the politicos from his region had also gone missing, but at the very least the territory was doing well to refute the demands of the nobles. Small favours in that respect, the Justicars were very lucky to have quite a few loyalists within a variety of sects that would keep their lands secure in their absence.
...Though how long that would last for would remain to be seen.
Fortunately, the Justicar's immediate family had had the foresight to guard Thalyssra to a certain degree. She was currently holed up in one of the more populated regions. With more witnesses to keep an eye out, the less likely it was that the nobles would strike and attempt to remove her... at least not without a very adept assassin to perform the service. Thus the avian didn't have any particular difficulties in finding the pale lioness as she flew through the 'window' of her den and came to rest atop one of her pieces of furniture.
"Thalyssra!" Shuurei announced herself and fluffed up her feathers. "We're going to have to move you - quickly."Words: 329

 She shrieked.
It wasn't even a quiet shriek either, it was a scream as she spun round. Thoroughly startled by the voice, the already tense politico could do nothing more than stare at Shuurei for several minutes before she began to realise that the avian was an ally. She knew that avian's colours, they were the colours of a Justicar who hadn't been seen in years. The Politico had noticed his absence for the most part, he was no longer seen in the fields with the farmhands and hunters, and yet his main holdings had remained tended to. At first the Politico had merely assumed that he was away on business, but as the years had drawn on they had begun to wonder...
The appearance of this avian was the first stirrings of activity that the lioness had seen in years. It would give a much needed surge in confidence for the territory to realise that while he wasn't visible, he was still there. Or at least it would have given a surge of confidence if she had been permitted to declare it. It seemed by the manner in which this bird was speaking, she was going to be moved (again), to yet another location... though where she was going this time was anyone's guess, she was quickly running out of options and places to hide. At some point they would hire their assassins and get the job done, it just seemed that they weren't quite ready to push their luck quite so far into Justicar lands just yet.
...So far, all assassinations and disappearances had taken place in the inner city, rather than in the out regions.
"All right, let's start with a name," she replied in a shaken voice. "Then you can attempt to explain where I'm supposed to be going," she finished.Words: 306

Ah, yes, right... Manners. Where had she put those?
"Of course, of course," Shuurei offered an apologetic wave of her wing and cleared her throat. "My name is Shuurei, I am Justicar Destati's messenger," she clarified. No doubt she had confirmed some of Thalyssra's assumptions as the lioness seemed to settle considerably. "He has charged me with ensuring that you remain safe and uh...well, alive," she confessed and fluttered closer to inspect the lioness. All in all Thalyssra seemed healthy and therefore she would be able to walk and run with relative ease. Shuurei didn't necessarily know how fast the lioness could run, but there was bound to be a moment in which the pair would have to find out.
"He is in the process of sending a few of his Collective to assist you," she explained and tilted her head to the side. "I believe the intention is for you to be removed from the Al-siq entirely," she continued. She didn't know whether or not Thalyssra would be expected to remain in the company of the Justicar and his Collective, or if Destati had ideas in regards to sending her elsewhere, but these were matters for the Politico to discuss directly with the Justicar when she met him.
"But until then he has advised that we move you between various locations until they are ready to collect you," she added. "We have a new safe house waiting, but you will need to trust me on this one, I would sooner not discuss such things when walls like to talk and listen..." the avian concluded.Words: 266 Total Words (Shuurei): 595

"So he's alive," Thalyssra confirmed, more relieved than she thought she would be. She hadn't given it much thought, but like many of the justicars, Destati had been one of those who had not yet found a mate or had heirs. Consequently, there was no means in which to pass the title and lands down. Was this why the nobles had chosen to strike when they had? Credit where it was due, if this was why they had chosen now to act then they had certainly given this a considerable amount of thought and planning.
...And to do it right under their noses too.
"Oh thank the gods," she murmured and took a breath. It was a weight off the lioness's shoulders to know that the Justicars would remain as twelve rather than down. There had already been rumours circulating that they were down to eleven before Destati had gone missing, to have Destati be alive and well meant that the other missing Justicar was bound to be present somewhere as well. It was just a question of where the damn lion was hiding! It would be a pursuit for another time though, one that she assumed the Justicars would do when it was necessary.
They had found Destati after all, or this appeared to be what had happened by the sudden appearance of his messenger.
"We're leaving now?" Thalyssra asked in surprise and tilted her head to the side. The avian provided her with a curt nod and she had another moment of brief panic; evidently the lioness was so on edge that she was more than easy to fluster. "Right... Of course."
Another pause.
"And you can't tell me where we're going?" she pressed, met only by another nod.
"Wonderful," Thalyssra murmured softly and eventually managed to gather her wits enough to begin preparing. "How long am I going to have to keep moving homes?" she clarified, not entirely grasping the fact that eventually she wouldn't even be in Al-siq lands.
"As long as necessary," came the reply, one that she wasn't entirely satisfied by, but also one that she couldn't really argue with either...Words: 359 Total Words (Thal): 665
