A small yawn escaped a small songbird stretching her wings to awaken. Brief openings of her beak followed with closing eyes signed yet another yawn taking over. Shaking herself from head to toe she fully hopped down a branch then flew over to the small stream to gather a drink. Warmth from the sun heated her feathers making her feel feel lively as the sun rose higher in the sky. Spring was finally in sight leaving those overcast days to fade onward till they were summoned again. Through most of the winter she stayed in the teepee of Tirranna whom Celenduin's sister watched over quite enthusiastically. What a winter it had been with the new arrivals and all. Dipping her feet in the water she began shaking till droplets sprayed all over the place letting her feathers shift in the process. So what of Spring followed by Summer her mind chirped to her. Heart beating like a little hummingbird she decided today was the day. Winter was over and he had a promise to keep after all. No beating around the bush this time since there was a connection between them. Dipping her head in once more for one last dip Isabeau glided over to the appletree where Celenduin stood silently.
"Oh Celenduin" she sang gliding up his back were she hopped carefully as not to disturb the soft fur between her claws, "You know you still have a promise to keep right? Wouldn't it be so nice to see them... her again?" she sang sweetly watching the stallion with eager eyes.
The stallion looked calmly out toward the meadow in front of him paying her no mind his thinking far away from the scene.
"Hey I'm talking to you!" she squawked with impatience, "I know you miss her Celenduin. Come on let's go.... Keep your promise!" she sang in notes higher than usual till her beak grabbed onto his hair yanking anxiously. Her little heart beat furiously trying everything she could till she sulked, "I miss him alright. Okay yes I admit it I do. But, you know you miss her too Celenduin. You did make a promise did you not? Come on answer me!"
Standing still as a statue the stallion refused to budge till she slipped into a downhearted muse, "Isabeau. I was waiting till later to head out so I suppose the surprise is ruined now. In any case there's your surprise".
Isabeau blinked feeling like Soquili's rump, "Wait what? Seriously?" she cried looking at him with beady suspicious eyes as she flew up to land on the branch near him, "So what brought this on may I ask?" tilting her head she looked at him waiting for something to dissolve the shock.
Celenduin chuckled, "You amuse my my dear Isabeau. I know you fell head over heels for Stardust. Yes I think Dheneb is lovely but at the time other things persisted in my mind. I did make a promise so I plan to keep it. No worries Isabeau".
Taking flight she hovered in the air her wings flapping happily, "You big softie. Okay let me go gather things for our trip and I'll meet you back here" she sang joyfully as her wings soared her over to the nearby forest.
Celenduin chuckled to himself finally moving toward the farthest hill where his sister lied waiting.

Dheneb had held out the winter with Stardust hidden away in a snug little hole she'd come to call their burrow. It wasn't much but it was a cave that dipped down further into the earth and bent in a curve so that there was a barrier from the wind. She'd been lucky enough to have had it stocked full of grass that she could sing into and bed down with the little bird using each other for warmth. More Tsar using her than the other way around. Spring's breath of warmth had drawn her out earlier than she'd thought to be awake. After all usually she was still sleeping at this hour of day. Still, Star had made it painfully clear that she wasn't going to sleep the day away again this time. Sighing, she flicked her ears as she made her way from her little burrow as she'd come to think of it and went in search of water and food.
She walked along in silence eyeing Star as he joyously chirped and flew in graceful arch's around her head. It was nice to see him in a good mood but she was still very tired. "What has you so full of pep Star?" She mused as she made her way towards a near by lake. She already was making her own plans of how this day would go. For her it would be more of a nap in the dappled sunlight beneath a tree.He gave a happy trill as he beat his wings sending Dheneb's mane blowing across her face as he drew near her face. "It's spring Dheneb." He spoke as if that made all the difference. "The frosts are over and finally warmth and abundance is on the way!" Still, he seemed fill of spirit and life even to himself. It was a nice feeling. Feeling like the world was fresh and anew and he were once again a very young bird lifted him up to new heights. She shook her head at his response. Finally meeting the water's edge, she dipped her head to drink the cool water and moved onto foraging for a meal. A patch of clover sat near by the trunk of a tree and while Star busily hurried himself off to find his own breakfast in the new by flower patches, she nosed the clover leaves delicately with her nose and nibbled to satiate the emptiness of her stomach. All winter she'd looked for her brothers and found nothing. It wasn't a happy thought that the twins could be so lost to her now. Surely they'd just taken shelter someplace warm and safe right? She was their older sister and worried over hem. All winter she'd dreaded stumbling across their frozen corpse as she made her rounds looking for them. It'd even haunted her dreams a few times. Stumbling only to land on the frozen ground and find herself face to face with the frozen and sunken in face of that which had belonged to her baby brothers' faces.. She shuddered at the thought of the dream. Why'd she have to think about it now? It caused her stomach to churn and her apatite faded. Perhaps she'd be better off laying under the canopy of the tree and trying to think of other things. Dheneb WC: 468

As the sun began setting the stallion iced in blue craned his neck out to console his eldest sister, "I won't travel into an abyss again my dear Celendria. I have made an important promise to a mare whom at the time I didn't realize captured my heart." Breathing outward upon her timeless image he leaned in closer breathing in her scent. Serenity followed by understanding rose from her as she spoke, "My dearest Brother you are well and alive. If your destiny caries you to this mare's side then you should follow that path. Soquili may retain youth yet we age year after year. If she calls to your heart you must tell her Celenduin. For a fleeting falling star can't stay in the sky forever. Come Tirranna has prepared your journey with the help of Isabeau. She fits you well dear Brother". The taller stallion watched as his sister turned back to gaze into her own mind before whispering, "I'll be back Celendria".
Moving toward the teepee he heard a rush of feathers prompting him to peer in the dwelling. The two-legged girl was packing a lightweight bag as the songbird added little things she thought was appropriate. He couldn't help but chuckle about Isabeau's eagerness. It was the moment of Spring's grace causing many creatures to become alive in the season. "Isabeau. hurry now or we'll miss the flight you silly girl"."Silly? How am I silly Celenduin? I really miss him and you miss her. Promise or not I saw how you looked at her. You've been alone way to long and I'm gonna fix that"."Isabeau you were asleep most of the night with Stardust watching over you. Right now I'm pursuing a promise in which no matter how long it takes I will keep that promise. After that ...""Uh huh...you can't even stop thinking about her now that Spring is coming. I know when I'm right" she beamed with a flutter of her wings appearing to puff herself up more."And if you are.... well destiny will find a way I'm sure. Come now stop that flustering and get in my mane night is approaching"."You don't have to be so forward about it. I packed berries, feathers, some of that mint, and a few other things" she nodded before hustling herself to curl within his tightened hair, "Goodnight" she cooed curling in tighter before pulling into her famous high pitched snores ."Goodnight Isabeau. When I find then I'll stir you awake" he noted before looking at the two-legger holding the bag in her slim fingers. Lowering his head he felt the bag slide downward till it hung firm along his shoulders. He noticed her eyes deep as pools yet glistening with a smile. Grunting a thankful note he stepped back the turned to take flight.
Thundering the ground pushing his soul upwards he felt the wind upon his face again. The air held a chill nowhere as frigid as they last flight. For the duration of winter Celenduin stayed with his family eager to accept the fact no regards were against him. Celendria drifted away from his view those his eyes never stopped gazing upon his twin sibling. She had known the entire time of their father's outings never bearing regret of their mother's sacrifice. Instead she held appreciation for him returning to watch over his nieces and nephews.
It had seemed hours he was flying when a tiredness settled in leaving him to land upon ground familiar yet different. Moving steadily as not to awaken his snoozing passenger he stepped toward the water where he met her. In familiarity he leaned inward drinking in the same coolness that opened the pages to a story resuming.

One minute she'd been laying in the dappled sunlight of the tree. The next, she was stirring to the chirps of Star. Opening an eye in the twilight of day fading to night, her view of all else around her was blocked by a dark blue face. Star was puffed up and chirping while looking at her almost too close to comfort. "I'm awake.."
The little bird drew in a relieved breath and let it out. "You just started to call out in your sleep. Something about sunken faces....was it that dream again?" He looked obviously worried for his charge. "I was seeking sweet things to eat when I heard you scream.. I never should have left you.. I'm supposed to make sure you're alright.. I thought it was some one attacking but you were sound asleep when I made it back." He looked sullen as he hopped back to allow her room to move about.
With a large yawn she rolled from her side to gage the heavy weight of her small companions misery. "I'm sorry star.." She didn't know what to say. What could she? He'd been right she'd been plagued by that same dream all winter. "It haunts me. "She admitted in a mumble. "They're out there some where but what if.. what if we never find tem and they die alone?"

A dream is but a sweet memory reminding one of their purpose...
Murmurs of future spiraled within with promise of return and respect. She had been dreaming endlessly not considering her sleeping habits causing her tiny frequent whistles. Celenduin had done as he was supposed to following through a promise then returning to restart fate once more. That morning she'd preened her feathers one by one dainty aligning each to look striking. Normally it was the males impressing the females but today Isabeau didn't know the difference. Excitement filled her tiny lungs letting a sweet song echo throughout the campsite of Tirranna. Flitting herself over to the lake she stepped in one foot after another like a ballerina then spread her wings as if standing before a partner. Dipping her head in the water she began a little dance in the form of bathing. Almost as if in a serenade she chirped while enjoying her refreshing beauty treatment till her song carried outward outward in earnesty. The berries came next picking only the sweet ones as she dined on a breakfast fit for a King tapping her beak on a branch then wiping it profusely on a few leaves she took flight seeking out her companion.
"Celenduin.... Oh Celendiun" she called out sweetly which livened up immensely with excited chirps while landing on his back, "You know you still have a promise to keep right? Wouldn't it be so nice to see them... her again?"
Her little voice was effervescent as she mused on the future happy for Celenduin of course but her little heart beat in her breast for Stardust. Sure he was grumpy, loud, rude, but not everyone was perfect in her eyes.
Finding out her companion was planning this preferred trip sent her abuzz with happiness. She was finally getting to see him again after what.... a millenia. Would he remember her she pondered. There were so many flocks of pretty eligible females out there what if.... Now her head shook with a chirp. There was enough of that ill thinking to make those berries turn sour within her tummy. Needless to say she tired herself out gathering so many things to give to Star it wasn't to be laughed at. Her chirping began to lighten the campsite in melody and happiness.
Soon the day waved a farewell to the evening prompting Isabeau to yawn accidently retreating to Celenduin's braid as she carried off into a lively dream of just her and Star singing together. Night had taken over leaving Isabeau to awaken as she felt Celenduin touch upon the ground. Remaining very quiet she peaked outward seeing the familiar lake causing her little heart to flutter like mad. Taking another yawn she crawled out of his mane then flew up to a high tree branch as her search began as the long feathery tail trailed behind her.
"Hey Celenduin? You sure this is the right area? The water looks right and some of the trees but..." disappointment nearly grabbed a stranglehold till she looked up toward the stars. Celenduin would never lead her astray. He truly wanted to to return here as she did because promises are never to be broken. So with a firm nod she willed herself to believe he was somewhere in the area. Stifling a peculiar yawn she hopped on another branch then glided to another tree settling in to reprise her song of sweetness in finding the one your heart beats for. The air was so nice here she agreed though it gave her such drowsy eyes though she still continued to sing hoping it would find the one she seeked.

Heaving a heavy sigh, he looked back at his long time companion. She always seemed to be such a strong mare for one who could become so small. The sheer fact that she was opening up and showing this much torment surely meant that she was indeed set deep in torment and struggling against it. Here before him was all the dangerous evidence that in sinking away her own fears to be dealt with at another time she was barely keeping her head afloat and failing to do it for much longer. Lest she sink below the waters of her turmoil and sorrows, something had to be said.
She was his dearest friend and he the closest thing she had to a personal advisor. A confidant of sorts. If she hated him later she may forgive him these words that had to be said. "Dheneb," He paused for a moment so that he could take to wing and air once more. Lighting on a branch to look her in the eyes, he continued. "You know that I am and ever shall be your faithful friend. However, you must stop this self torment. You'll make yourself ill if you try to suppress your true emotions. After all, were we not made to feel grief and joy that we might better appreciate the world around us?"
As he saw her open her mouth to speak, he pressed on once again, deliberately cutting her off before she had a chance. "We'll find them. We'll find them and they will be well and a happy reunion you shall make of it too." He offered her a warm tender look as he spoke the soothing words. It was spring and the possibly were endless. For all they both knew, her brothers were safe and well within a herd of traveling soquili and possibly even with new families of their own about to start.
"Have a small rest now. I'll go and scout about in search of them a bit while you recover your senses." Still the dark blue mare looked quite shaken though she seemed slowly easing back into some sort of serenity. Without waiting for another word from her, he took wing again. Swooping up through the trees, he bobbed and weaved as he looked for the descriptions he'd been given for the twin brothers they'd been seeking all this time. Surely if there were a clue to be found, he'd find it; he owed her at least that much.
He'd gone a little ways away before he heard a sweet tune. Something soft and further yet in the distance still. 'Interesting,' he thought to himself as he began to turn and follow the tune. Stopping mid beat of his wings, he seemed to bob in the air a moment before shaking his head and continuing the search for the twins once again. After all, he could always try to seek out who the tune belonged to later. But then, what if whomever sang the sweet song was gone by then? Mentally chastising himself for his weak will in that moment, he turned his thoughts from his search and abandoned it for the moment. "I'm not abandoning my scouting mission. More so that I should scout in this direction if any at all." He told himself as he flapped his wings to follow the sweet tune as it was made.
It drew him further off from where Dheneb was likely resting still. It wasn't till the song had abruptly stopped that he was left to flit among the tree limbs looking for who or rather what had been it's source. Surely he hadn't been mistaken? His eyes grazed the limbs each in turn as he searched for anyone at all who could have been the source. That was when he saw. There in a tree near by was a familiar form, A pale blue bird he'd met only once and some how just seeing that familiar face lifted something within his very being. "How now Isabeau!" He called out leaving his perch and hiding place to be better seen.WC: 685

A firm shake of her head served no justice as her eyes slowly began closing despite the pleading in her mind. Sending another simple song outward she nearly dipped off the branch. "Nooooo I ...." she drifted into a waltz still seeing the stars as they danced like bright futures yet they remained so far away. Possibly a farce or her imagination the small songbird smiled happily as the whispers of the breeze comforted her. Rocking back and forth on a branch she felt herself dancing. In response she raised her wings as if a partner stood before her. A handsome blue male bird that bowed with a sweep of his wings before her casing the little female to blush and bow her head to him. As the branch swayed with another breeze she felt her heart flutter her wings outstretched then something jostled her out of the placid dream her mind had entered into. Yawning she looked around her eyes hazy but it was unmistakable that his voice called to her. A dream perhaps yet her heart knew too well he beckoned to her near by. Once again she sang her song happily letting him know she was there waiting as a flower yearns to grow into a beautiful blossom. Her breast shivering with anticipation wings outstretched she looked frantically about shining orbs glistening wide with happiness.
"Star?! Where are you?" she called to him her claws gripping the branch firmly this time. The initial excitement had nearly tipped her off the branch which would of been a sight for anyone to see. Getting ahold of her composure she hopped down the branch peering out trying to locate him. "I'm here! I'm here" she sang aloud her voice high yet sweet as ambrosia with a tad much sugar. So many months she had waited to see him again waiting on Celenduin to come to terms with himself and family. Oh what a family indeed with those amazing foals unlike anything she had ever seen. She just knew deep down that Dheneb was perfect for her companion they just had to come to terms. Last meeting Isabeau charmed Star after a not so graceful first meeting. More like high pitched nails on glass that could of woken the dead if any were present. Apparently, he found her adorable even past his grumpiness admiring her snoring which everyone said was high pitched when she dove into a deep sleep.
If they could come to terms in their differences then why not two lost Soquili one rekindled and the other lost. If she was by his side then she'd spend all hours of the day and night helping Dheneb find her way to her brothers. A positive thought indeed making her proud of herself knowing with Star's help someday they could all be a family.

He could see she was searching for him; as he'd dart to be in view, she'd turn her head and miss him. "I see you, I'm right here." He called out. Finally, he flew closer and landed on the branch she was perched on. Blue eyes stared at her long and hard for a long moment in silence. Apart so long, he'd set aside any true hopes of seeing her once more. In truth he'd thought they'd never meet like this even if they'd promised. Breathless, he looked at her. Her pale blue feathers seemed illuminated in the night sky's filtered light through the trees.
Clearing his throat, he looked away to cover his own awkward staring. The known grumpy bird had actually missed her. It was a little embarrassing that he should miss some one he'd met only once. Still, just knowing she'd fared through the winter well and was here now safe and looking like a breath of spring herself, he found himself relieved some how. His heart in his chest thudded climbing into his throat momentarily as he searched for something, anything, to talk about and discuss.
"You look well." He stated softly. "I'm glad to see that you made it through the winter well." There.. stick to the basics and you'll be fine. He mentally psyched himself up as he spoke. Finally he looked upon her once again. "You came back." He was happy, truly and thoroughly happy that the promise they'd made so many months back had not gone forgotten. Some how he'd been thinking the worst would come to pass. "Dheneb's sleeping under a tree not far away. I was sent to go search for any signs of her brothers." He spoke as he looked about below them. He was watching for two things. The first were the twins. The second was because where Isabeau was, so too was her companion. Still he wasn't certain he approved of the stallion. Dheneb was after all his charge and with her brothers not around to play the protective counterpart it was up to him.
