She had almost completely forgotten about this... date night thing she'd signed up for. It was the second year in a row she was attempting it. Truthfully, she really didn't remember how it went last year. Vaguely something about waiting for her date... and that was about it. But the red envelope that she'd retrieved from the mail had her scrambling to put together an outfit. Should she dress up nice?! Wear something cute and sexy? Yeah... no on the last one. She was just a little self conscious as of lately.
There were shirts and pants and skirts thrown about her room as Kodi attempted to figure out what to wear. Glancing over at the ever watchful eyes of a certain corgi, her eyes landed on the pants that had been tossed over Thorin. Her favorite piano leggings! Perfect! She snatched them up and dashed around searching for a shirt. Another ten or fifteen minutes later and she had a complete outfit with her hair done up and the clock said it was just 6:30.
"Ah, crap!" She was going to be late! With a few muttered curses, she almost tripped over Thorin as he danced about, thinking they were playing a game. Kodi quickly put some food in his bowl, grabbed her purse and keys, and shot out the door.
Not having a car, she typically walked or rode the bus to get around town. And by some miracle, the bus was just pulling up when she darted down to the bus stop, huffing and puffing. She quickly climbed up and kept checking her clock the entire way to the museum. By the time she was getting off at the stop closest, it was 6:47. Another five minutes of some power walking and she finally made it through the doors to the museum. Thankfully, there were other people just starting to arrive. She fumbled with the envelope and ticket inside before presenting them as she entered.
Taking a few extra minutes to catch her breath and relax, Kodi glanced around. The museum was always worth taking the time to enjoy! And while she idly glanced around, she hoped the pink flush to her cheeks would go away too.
Looking for the envelope she'd shoved back in her purse once more, she quickly scanned the elegant script to determine where she was supposed to meet her date. The Art of Cooking. Now that one sounded intriguing! Maybe she'd learn a thing or two from the artwork there? Looking around for signs, she started heading towards the The Art of Cooking, a nervous little flutter making her stomach flip and flop about. Really, it couldn't be that bad tonight, could it? kuropeco ohai thar have a date with Kodi

Adrien had also almost completely forgot about said date thingymajigger, as he had come to call it. But he had decided to go, because showing a good face was important, and besides, what else was he supposed to do? There wasn't a whole lot about Valentine's Day that he cared about, anyway, when he was as single as he was, which meant that he was perfectly at liberty to enjoy what he could.
He was wearing a pair of white jeans and a pale pastel blue shirt along with a white peacoat that Adrien thought rather showed off everything relatively well. He arrived in a flourish, a pink flower in his hand and sashayed through the museum doors, peering around for whomever was supposed to be his date for the evening.
He spotted her after a few moments - or at least, who he thought was meant to be his date. Adrien maneuvered his way through a few throngs of people until he reached the dark haired young woman, reaching out to tap her genially on the shoulder, then slid around to stand in front of her.
"Kodi?" he asked brightly, and Adrien held out a hand.
"I'm Adrien Davids."

While awaiting the individual she'd been paired with for this date... thing, Kodi had found herself drawn towards a series of paintings. She'd stood there, staring. It was throwing her off. Was it 3D? That special paint she'd heard about that could make it seem like 3D? The temptation to reach out and touch was too great. Kodi glanced to either side before leaning forward and gently running her fingers along one of the paintings. So it was 3D-
"Kodi?"
Hearing her name with a tap on the shoulder made the young woman jump, hand instantly falling to her side and the most innocent expression she could muster pasted on her face.... Adrien? Wasn't that the name of her date?
"Uh... " She gave the young man a sheepish grin, nodding. "I'm afraid so." He was definitely not what she's been expecting! His outfit was quite stylish, and he seemed charming enough.
Kodi grinned and took the hand extended. "Adrien. It's a pleasure! And yes, I'm Kodi Carpenter." Okay, maybe this wouldn't go too terribly bad?
