The sounds of the battle and death chase after you as you escape into the hidden tunnel beneath the throne. The scraping sound of the throne can be heard as it's replaced cutting the Lifeless and Holy Soldiers out. A grim faced Aka'Parth leads your group through the twisting tunnels before finally stopping at a large opening, allowing the old and weary priests to rest for a moment. The man stands to the side watching the path you just traveled.

Siri stands not to far off, Kaito kept close. Her eyes are red and her hair as drained to a white. Leaning close to the boy she whispers, "This is not good... The bishop has betrayed us. This is not good at all."

DenShazo

You travel a while before finding yourself at an opening. You can see in the dim light that it is crowded with several people. None have noticed you so far, taking a moment you can see that it is the priests and the youngest children of the Holy Family.

INDENTArina was beginning to feel rather defeated by this whole situation. She was steadily growing more tired and the exhaustion was only going to get worse with hunger creeping up on her. The man who had saved her previously turned out to be the Holy Son and of course… She somehow managed to be thrown right into the middle of absolute destruction.

INDENTAka’Parth stopped to allow the others a chance to rest and gather enough energy to continue on and boldly, kept watch to make sure the group would not be ambushed from behind while they took these few moments. The young girl did the same but attempted to peer beyond the door to make sure they were not alternatively walking into a situation that would be compromising. Chances are the person who had created this whole situation knew about intimate details like this escape passage. The girl squinted her eyes trying to narrow her view and make out the objects that appeared somewhat blurry before her, ‘I know that if I were going to create such mayhem that I would make sure to be fully knowledgeable about any weaknesses in my own plans.’

INDENTArina rubbed her eyes turning her attention towards the Holy Son. She approached him in a quiet fashion trying not to bring too much attention to herself before whispering quietly, “Are you sure that they are all trustworthy?” Her furrowed eyebrows were probably obvious indicators of the worry and anxiety that she was currently experiencing. The young girl did not want to appear like she was knowledgeable about combat strategies and certainly did not want to appear to be a threat to the Holy Son and his position… On that note, she also had every intention of getting out of this alive.

INDENT“I promise you can trust me,” Arina stated in the most serious tone she could muster. The young man had been nothing but an asset to her existence since she first arrived in this Holy City, despite what some of the denizens of the city might contribute. She was fairly certain that Aka’Parth would not be one of the founding members which assisted and funded the rebels.

The further they had ran down the passage way, the quieter things had become. The sound of the lifeless clashing against the guards became muffled and eventually would disappear as they traveled deeper to... wherever this deep dark scary looking escape tunnel lead to. The group was filled with the holy family, priests, and some miscellaneous strangers sprinkled in as well. The ran for a little while until coming across a large opening, a fairly barren room of sorts where they decided to take a halt. Kaito panted slightly as he bent over for just a moment before he returned to his upright position. "Man, I am so out of shape..." These words muttered under his breath. The genin would turn his attention now to Siri and her now snow white hair. "Hey.. How're you doing? Are you hurt at all?" The boy looked at her from head to toe, she had no injuries from what he could see. Siri would then lean in, whispering words that only he could hear. Kaito would respond, doing the same. "No it's not... Who are these guys? Can we trust them?" Turning his head back towards the small crowd they stood alongside, trying to take mental notes of everyone around. Walking into this mission he knew this was going to be a hassle but little did he know what sort of train wreck this would have turned into.

Arina's words would earn her a sharp glare from the man, whatever it was that he wanted to say he held it in and instead let out a heavy sigh before returning to his watch. "These are the holy priests of our city. They are the most trust worthy men and women of our city." He said simply before backing away and looking at Arina once again. "I'm sorry, but I don't recall your name... we met before, in the shop?"

Capt Kool-Aid

Siri shook her head slowly, her eyes watching Kaito's own. "No.. I don't think we can... maybe, I am not sure." Turning her eyes away from Kaito, she looked to where Aka'Parth and Arina stood talking. Her hair immediately drained to a deep red, "Who is that woman and why is she talking to my brother? I've never seen her before..."

Juugou had been traveling slowly through the passage for some time, hand over his aching, empty stomach. His clothes were still damp and the decision to leave the stranger to fall still weighing heavily on his mind. He couldn't bring himself to risk his own life, but it went against everything he stood for as a medic.. The young Aburame fiercely shook his head to clear his mind of the conflicting thoughts threatening to paralyze him and pressed forward. After a few minutes he saw a dim light at the end of the passage, which opened up to a small chamber. As Juugou crept up to the opening he saw that it was a group of priests and children dressed in robes similar to those that the Holy Falah'd had been wearing earlier.

Taking a deep breath, Juugou walked out of the opening with his hands raised palms open to indicate he was unarmed and meant no harm. "Please don't be alarmed. My name is Juugou and i was one of the people that were brought in for questioning before the attack took place. Is anyone here hurt?"

Kaito snapped his head towards both Siri's brother and the woman he was with. She seemed to be whispering in his ear something or another, who knew? "Yeah, I don't know what's up with that either... Hrm. Your brother is your brother though, I'm sure if he trusts her we should trust her too, right?" Kaito rested his arm on the princess's shoulder, throwing a small smile her way. "I know things seem awfully grim right now, but we'll figure things out Siri." Upon her hair turning red, Kaito's sole purpose was to mellow her out for a bit before she did anything rash.

Shortly after, a familiar face stepped out from another opening in the tunnels. "Juugou?" Kaito muttered his name under his breath. The aburame boy walked up to the crowd with his palms open showing he meant no harm, which was the best thing he could have done in this situation. Surely he'd get some questions thrown his way, but none would be from Kaito. At this point he acted as though he knew nobody here, and his story was surely going to stay that way.

INDENTThe young girl nodded her head in confirmation, “My name is A-mara.” Arina had almost made a grave mistake stumbling with her words. She had practiced with the name Amara for so long… She could not believe she almost made such a fatal error that definitely would have made her appear suspect.

INDENT“I was not trying to upset you because I cannot begin to fathom the situation you are in right now… I just would like to insist that you be careful. Were those not your own guards that were meant to protect your city which turned their blades against you?” Arina finished her thought and turned away somewhat hurt by his demeanor. She was aware that there was no history to inspire a bond of trust between the two of them; however why else would Aka’Parth waste his time saving her if he intended to treat her so harshly over such a simple thing as ensuring their safety.

INDENTShortly after returning to her post scoping out the area that loomed ahead, a stranger approached from another nearby tunnel. He held his arms in a peaceful manner probably trying to avoid death in all of the chaos that had ensued since her arrival in the holy city. “Juugou…,” Arina muttered under her breath scrutinizing the young man who approached offering him no sympathy for his situation. They needed to be vigilant of anyone who approached.

The man frowned and shook his head, "No... Those were not my guards, those were monstrosities, Hak'Vesh." Aka'Parth spat the words to the side, his glare meeting Amara for a moment before tearing it away to stare down the path that they had come from. "They're known as Lifeless... reanimated warriors made by the church to fight shinobi. They do not fall to illusions, they never tire and feel no pain, they retain all their skills from life and can even be improved upon further... but they're... they're Hak'Vesh. Why they were there I do not know but I have my opinio-" Aka'Parth trailed off as he turned to face Juugo's entrance, the word Hak'Vesh was being whispered in the small room by all the priests.

~*~

Siri turned to face Kaito with a glare, "Yes, that seems the wisest course of action, Kai. Let's trust someone we do not know because they made there way into my brother's bed? I swear, I wonder of your upbringing. We just were betrayed by a man who was meant to protect us, someone we knew since we were babies and you want me to trust someone that I've never seen before because my brother has fallen for the batting of her eyes?" With a hmph, she turned her back to the man and crossed her arms but Kaito would be able to feel the pain filling her heart.

The pain would turn into anger quickly as she stared at Juugo's appearance. Slowly she turned to face Kaito, "You know this man...? You do... HOW?" For the first time, Siri looked at Kaito and began to apprehend who he was as his feelings and memories filled her. "We... will talk..." She whispers before turning to face Juugo.

~*~

Aka'Parth and Siri both approach Juugo but keep a distance from him, the priests all move to have the royal family standing between them and the Hak'Vesh. "How did you get here... and more importantly explain yourself, what is your kind doing in the city?" Aka'Parth questions, Siri standing before him to scream, "WHY DID YOU WANT MY FATHER DEAD?"

PostPosted: Sun Feb 19, 2017 12:28 pm

This situation and his mission more importantly were getting more hairy by the minute. His link with Siri was quickly becoming rather troublesome but at this point there was nothing he could do about it. She knew, he knew that she knew, no lie could get him through this. He could feel Siri's anger quickly growing inside of him. The worst part of this feeling, is that her anger was actually directed towards him this time. Kaito would panic for a moment, if she dropped this information to the surrounding group things could quickly turn grim for the boy. Shortly after though, she silenced his panic with the 'We will talk' comment as she directed herself towards the newcomer.

Both Aka'Parth and Siri now had confronted and began to question Juugo. "Damnit kid..." His arrival couldn't have been any worse timing. Siri knew the two were acquaintances though, so there was no point to try and hide that fact any longer. Kaito stepped forward as Aka'Parth as he questioned the aburame boy. The boy was going to intervene on the conversation as Siri began to scream about her father dying, which quickly filled him with saddened emotions once again. Kaito would grit his teeth as this feeling would quickly overcome his body once more. However, alongside of this pain would spring some weird thoughts into his head. Thoughts of this assault on the family being formed by Siri herself. Were these just thoughts, or actual memories? Kaito was unsure himself. His body moved to a quick halt, while memories and thoughts flooded his brain. His mouth laid wide open, Kaito was confused and mind blown at the same time. Did she know that he knew? Was this part of her plan all along, or was this something he'd accidentally stumbled across? Surely though, he'd keep his mouth shut for now until he could figure out the truth.

The pressing matter at hand was Juugou's safety, and keeping himself disguised as just a traveler to everyone else for the time being. Surely Juugou would have a plan crafted to keep himself and Kaito's true identities hidden.

INDENTAka’Parth rightly became defensive at the newcomer who called himself Juugou asking him a few various important questions. Shortly after, the pet that had been following the holy princess around stood in their path intervening in the questioning meaning that he had probably been a shinobi the entire time. Honestly, this had not come as a surprise to the young woman whatsoever. The young girl knew that all the nations had intended on participating in this event many with their own devious intentions of course. All of the nations which were participating only served themselves despite their forged alliance.

INDENTArina stepped forward towards the two foreign shinobi from the left side. She had no intentions of blocking the holy family from their thoughtful questioning. The young girl looked towards the princess who was obviously upset and suffering from everything that had occurred. Luckily for her, Aka’Parth remained steady and calm in the face of such chaos and tragedy. He might have snapped at her earlier; however he seemed to understand her reasoning which was all that mattered. At the risk of upsetting the young man once again, Arina spoke up on her own observations. She stated in a matter-of-factly tone, “I do not know about the first stranger… Juugou? However, the other has been with your sister for an extended period of time has he not? He has already had multiple opportunities to help the rebel cause if that was his intention. If they know each other, I doubt they would have differing ideals.”

INDENTThe young girl let her words settle for a few minutes before continuing on. She did not want anyone to feel confused or overwhelmed; however it was an important time for logical thinking. “I am not saying that he should escape punishment. I am just stating that if these ‘lifeless’ are as difficult to control as you stated previously… they would not be far behind. I would suggest that we keep moving but keep our awareness high. We do not want to waste precious time questioning someone needlessly when there are much more threatening predators lurking around,” Arina looked around them checking the tunnels that they initially entered from. She thought that she could vaguely hear footsteps coming from somewhere beyond in the darkness beyond.

INDENT“What about these other passages? Have they always been there? Is there anywhere that might work more to our advantage through these tunnels?” Arina questioned honestly afraid of what might be ahead of them. While awaiting a response and to see the initial strain on her budding friendship with the holy prince, the young woman pulled a dagger from within her right boot. She lightly put the dagger to his throat with a serious, almost threatening look on her face, “I have not forgotten you are here. I just don’t consider you a priority and if you try anything, I will slit your throat myself…”

Juugou walked towards the group and paused a few paces away when he noticed Kaito standing among them. It appeared that the drunk recognized him as well since he had muttered his name in a surprised fashion. This caused the woman he had walked into the trial room with earlier to begin questioning Kaito about his relationship with an alleged Hak'Vesh. On top of that, one of the princes did not take kindly to Juugou's sudden emergence through the tunnel.

There was another young girl around the Aburame's age that took advantage of the the drama to voice her opinions. Apparently Kaito had been around the princess for quite some time, so she deemed him trustworthy. And since he knew Juugou to some extent, Juugou could be trusted to some degree until there was enough time for proper interrogation. Who is this chick?! wondered Juugou. She knows way too much, and is practically quoting the mission objectives. She must be a kunoichi from another country... His assertions were proven correct when she produced a hidden dagger from one of her boots and put the tip to his throat, threatening to kill him if he tried something. Juugou kept his hands up while showing surprise on his face. "There's no need for that. I already expressed to you all that i mean no harm." The young Aburame picked up on the distinct sound of foot steps approaching from one of the tunnels. These were more dragged and lethargic than normal.

Juugou scanned the area and noticed there was an open door not too far away. A plan began formulating in his mind. Once the foot steps got really close and he could see silhouettes moving in the darkness of the tunnel, Juugou unleashed a swarm of insects from his arms that pushed away the girl wielding the dagger and buzzed around the clergy and royal family, potentially blinding and distracting them from his escape. The young Aburame then took the opportunity to bolt for the door. Once he got through, he slammed it shut and pulled down a crossbar in order to barricade it shut.

It was at Juugo's timely diversion that twelve Lifeless entered the open room. Between the attacking bugs and the appearance of the creatures the priests and priestesses went into a panic. Screaming they all began to push at each other to get as far away from the Lifeless as possible.

"Rise with me! Rise for Aren! Do not fear these monsters!" Aka'Parth calls out, standing his ground against the creatures. Arms held out to either side of him, he begins to chant a mantra, his head bowed ignoring the approaching Lifeless. Screaming, Siri rushes to her brother, wrapping arms around his waist to try and drag him from his stand but she does not have the strength. Two of the Lifeless turn to directly attack the siblings as the rest continue to attack the rest of those in the area.

~*~

In the center of the room that Juugo enters sits a stone table. Atop of it a chest the size of the man's torso waits partially open, a light emitting from it...

INDENTArina was caught off guard when the newcomer decided to attack and flee the area leaving the rest of inhabitants for death. She was pushed back by swarms of bugs landing on the floor with a loud 'thud' onto her back. She quietly cursed his existence under her breath before realizing that the lifeless had arrived.

INDENTLuckily, the young girl had managed to keep a grip on the dagger from before. One of the lifeless approached her while she lay on the ground attempting to take her life, Arina managed to block the attack with the blade of the dagger; afterwards, she extended her leg knocking the lifeless back long enough to stand and assess the situation.

INDENTAka'Parth and Siri were about to be attacked by two of the lifeless. "No, no, no," Arina grumbled to herself throwing the dagger towards the lifeless nearest to her location. She needed Aka'Parth alive. She was already assuming most of her missions would be left unfinished; however she would follow this through and see the rebels destroyed along with their patrons. The young girl watched as the deformed body of the lifeless slipped onto the floor immobile; whatever she had done managed to be successful. In a flash, the young woman found herself by the dead body of the lifeless ripping the dagger from it's body and in a swift stroke of movement, she thrust the dagger upwards into the jaw of the second lifeless which attacked the holy family slicing through the decrepit looking skin until half his head had been severed looking much like the wound to the priest protecting her in the trial room.

INDENTThe young girl realized that Aka'Parth would undoubtedly have many questions but for now, she hoped he realized this was not the time. She looked towards him quickly to make sure he had been unharmed... It appeared that he was chanting some sort of incantation and not focused on what was going on within his direct vicinity. 'I sure hope that is some insane spell to be so mindless to this chaos around him,' the young girl kept the thought to herself turning back to the crowd of monstrosities and panicked priests. Siri had never been of any concern to Arina. The young princess was just lucky to be of the same immediate threat that Aka'Parth had been a part of.

Just as Kaito was about to speak for Juugou and hopefully not get his throat slit by the strange woman whom accompanied Aka'Parth, Juugou pulled an unexpected move and swarmed the room with his bugs. "What the fu-?!" Kaito yelped attempting to swat bugs from his face, while impressively stopping himself from dropping the F bomb infront of the priests and priestess. Aka'Parth's bed mate pulled a knife out, tearing down two lifeless in the blink of an eye. "Sheesh... What a babe. No wonder he likes her!" Kaito would follow suit though, surely he wouldn't be outdone. Reaching into his right pocked he'd pull a sheathed dagger. The immediate threat to both Siri and Aka'Parth was now taken care of, as much as he really didn't want to, his new objective would be to save the priests and priestess. Kaito would unsheathe his blade and jump into the fray sticking one of the lifeless on the right side of it's skull. He'd pull his knife, and kick the now extra dead lifeless guy to the floor where he'd lay limp. He'd follow up on his assault striking down another lifeless whom had swung a blade at him, ducking it and stabbing the dead soldier straight through the eye. His face was one of disgust, the whole stabbing through the eye ball thing seemed like a cool idea until you know, you had to look at it that is.
