After many months of trying and convincing Syqvara had managed to get her young Kinfa airborne. Not all that high but he was flying on his own now. A small step up from gliding but it was progress either way. So as Drent flew low she and her other familiar, Elyam, walked along behind him. Every so often he would circle back to where they were to make sure he didn't go too far.

With a smile she shook her head at the silly bird and waved him on. In truth Sy felt proud that the creature was finally in the air. Ever since she'd gotten him up there he hardly came down. It was more like he just needed that extra push.

he leaf woman's attention was then pulled away as Elyam, her scorra, fluffed up beside her in a defensive manner and side stepped into her with one wing out to cover her mid-section. "Elyam.. what are you doing?" He only acted that way when there was a threat and she didn't see one. All she saw was another woman and her familiar, however strange it was.

There was a creature with the woman that Sy didn't know but it didn't seem to pay her much mind. So when the other leaf tribe member waved she turned the action before putting her hand on her Scorra to calm him. It took some convincing but he eventually settled his feathers and no longer looked like he'd been zapped with electricity.

The young Kinfa tilted to one side as it turned around and made his way back to where Syqvara was. The closer it got the lower to the ground it flew until it finally landed with a plunk and skidded into the woman's legs.

Sy laughed at her familiar and bent down to make sure he was alright from his awful landing.

She was in the middle of petting Drent, her blue kinfa, when she heard the woman speak. Looking up Sy smiled in a friendly manner and nodded her head. "Isn't he?" There was a small laugh as the bird puffed up beneath her hands. "He prefers to be called handsome though. Don't you." Syqvara soothed the young avian with some scritches under the chin then stood up to fully address the woman.

"Sorry to bother your solace. I'm Syqvara and these are my familiars, Elyam and Drent." She pointed to the Scorra first and then to the Kinfa at her feet to match the names she said. In truth she felt bad that Elyam had been so defensive and so she made sure to keep a hand on him in order to keep him settled.

She looked past the woman at the animal she pointed to and introduced as Kass. Sy blinked a few times before looking back at the woman. "I've never seen anything like that. Erm.. what is Kass?" She couldn't help but ask.

When Constynce mentioned her kinfa still being young she nodded. "Yeah. He's in that awkward stage between a young one and an adult. I've been trying to get him to fly." Something that she had accomplished only recently though he refused to fly higher than the tree tops.

Elyam decided that the others were no longer a threat and went about pecking at the ground to find a snack of his own. The Scorra no longer seemed all that interested in anyone else. Drent, on the other hand, tilted his head at the new person and chirped curiously.

So the animal had come from the strange new island. Sy wondered what other creatures were over there. Were they all so different from those found on the mainland? "How interesting." Perhaps she would look into one of them or even try to find out what other animals were over there.

When the woman seemed excited with Drent Syqvara laughed and nodded her head. "Sure will. He's a complete love bug." Which was entirely her fault since she cuddled the bird endlessly. "And if you give him a treat he's practically your best friend."

Drent tilted his head almost completely to one side as the hand was offered. Then when he was petted he chirped again and hopped closer to the woman that was giving him the attention.

Sy thought about it for a second. What did normal Kinfa's like to snack on? "I'm not sure about others but this little guy likes hard biscuits." As she said it she pulled the treat out of her pocket and held it out for Constynce. "Here, give him this."

As soon as he saw the biscuit he started to squawk and flap his wings in anticipation. Once Constynce gave him the treat he took it in his beak and shook it, much like a dog would, and dropped it on the ground. From there he took to pecking it to near death and chirping contently. Clearly the bird was pleased.

Sy looked at Elyam as he was mentioned then shook her head with a grin. "He's a hopeless grumpy old man. It takes time for him to get used to others." But at least he responded better to her commands and didn't go trying to bite everyone anymore. She remembered when she first got him and he did nothing but try to show dominance over everyone they came across. "What about Kass? Any special treats?"
