<---Atacama Ruins
Jewel of the Desert--->

From the Atacama Ruins, one can venture one of two ways--they can travel out into the unforgiving desert wastelands--lost to the heat and the endless sands. Or, they can go deeper. Down into the pits of the underground--through the trap doors spotted around the Ruins of Atacama. If one were to investigate these hatches at an advanced level, they would find that the technology was actually ancient--these doors were either installed used, or installed a very very long time ago. Though they appear brand new--as if they had never been used.

If the electronic mechanisms are found, and they are unlocked by the proper bypass codes given to a baiter with higher authorization on their specialized cards--then it is possible to enter the catacombs below. However--what is down in this place...few people would imagine it. The tunnels and winding passageways are not ill maintained, dusty, tombs. But instead, they are ornate, well lit with torches and artificial lights, and...populated. Deep down, underground, there is a great city. Golashasad is the name, though the people who live there regard everywhere beneath Atacama as their domain--Golashasad. The old tunnels have been carved over the centuries into beautiful, ornate passageways, and the oil they found underground, beneath Atacama has kept their generators running for the years as well. They have large defensive outposts around their city--manned twenty four hours a day.

These people regard outsiders as disgusting creatures--almost as lowly as the A.I. themselves. Though their city is small, housing only a couple of thousand people, their community is tight knit, and completely self sustained beneath the surface. They know very little of the happenings after the cities went dark, nor of baiter themselves. Access to the city will be denied, as they know nothing of baiter--unless this changes, civilians of this location will be hostile if you attempt to force your way inside--even more so if you are found inside without permission.

The tunnels leading throughout the underground splice off into many different locations that range from underground lakes and caverns full of crops, where the people of the underground have found usable soil, to pumping stations where they pull oil from the ground, as they need it to supply their city with power.
