Skrein Elpida sat in a chair next to Emomu as she watched the bakeneko work on their project, excited to see how it would all turn out in the end. The two had been given an extra credit assignment to make a website together, and the two of them had agreed to make a social site for the school. Although Skrein was sure it wouldn't be a huge deal, she kind of hoped it would make an impact at the school. Maybe even the whole world of Below and Above! That was a far fetched dream of course, and right now she really needed to focus on what her job was for the site, making sure it ran like a social site. Personally she felt Emomu's job was more important, since he was the code master, but she still had played a huge part in how the site was to run. Everyone would be able to make posts that had limited characters you could use in one post, and you could use hashtags to comment on things that were happening. It was honestly a brilliant idea, which was why she was glad Emomu had agreed to it. With it starting to get late, Skrein wondered if Emomu would even be able to finish the project tonight. If only she knew coding too, then maybe she would of been able to help more instead of just being the voice of ideas ", Hey Emomu, it is kind of getting late. How much longer do you think it will take for you to finish? We really shouldn't stay up that late."

Working with others wasn't Enomu's idea of a fun time, but neither was failing classes, so when he was given this opportunity to get some extra credit, he'd accepted it even though it meant working with someone else. Still, it hadn't been terrible. Skrein's job was to help him make a social site, and while he did all the coding to make it possible, she was the one who told him how what she wanted the site to be able to do. It had been a challenge, and it had been kind of fun to tweak code and figure out how to make the site dance to his tune. He inputted some numbers into the code and hit the preview button, tilting his head and ears slightly as he eyed the appearance of the site. They'd used stock photos for their project, free to use for purposes such as this. More tweaking and another tapping of preview and he was finally satisfied with the spacing. He submitted it and sat back to show the completed system. "I think it's done." He said, finally answering her question. She'd been forced to deal with the fact that unless she pestered him for an immediate response, she wasn't liable to get one while he was in the middle of trying to get something done, since he didn't like his concentration being interrupted. "We can post it to the student forums to let everyone know it's ready for testing, unless you think it needs something else first?"

She let out a sigh of relief at Emomu saying he thought it was finished, looking over the preview and give a nod of approval. It was a simple site for sure, but Emomu had worked hard to make her vision a reality ", Looks amazing Emomu, and since you have already tested to see that the site works, I do believe posting it to the student forums would be the next best thing."Skrein got up to stretch, giving off a yawn. It really had gotten late, and honestly she should probably head back to her dorm soon if she wished to not get in trouble ", and it is a good thing you finished. The curfew is going to take place within the hour, and I probably should get back to my dorm. Time to reveal Flitter to the world."

"The student body, at least." Enomu replied. He set the site to live and logged into the student forums to make the announcement, putting his email down so that people could submit bug reports. It was one thing to test it himself, and quite another to let the larger community at it. He had no doubt there would be errors and glitches, but that was the point. The students--and faculty if so inclined--could use it to keep in touch and possibly even find a use for it that hadn't occurred to him or Skrein. Once he had posted to the forums and double checked that the link worked, he set the computer to power down and stood to stretch as well, fluffing up briefly before his fur smoothed. "Okay, it's out there. It will probably take a few days for people to start using it, but I'll take a look in the morning just in case." He turned to face Skrein and even allowed his usually stoic expression to lift in a smile. "Extra credit should be in the bag. This was fun."

"Make sure to message me on my phone if anything comes up," she wanted to be there for everything that happened, wanting to see what she could do to help, how Enomu worked his coding intellect, and how the site overall would evolve. With that out of the way, she gave him a smile back and went toward the door, giving him a wave goodbye ", Extra Credit is for sure, and it was fun! I'll talk to you tomorrow Enomu. Project Flitter is a go!"Ebonrune Time Skip to the next morning? Edit: Why do I keep putting an M instead of an N for Enomu's name?

When Enomu woke up the next morning he puttered around in his usual routine, letting his laptop power on while he did so and then sat down to check his emails on the off chance there had been some technical issues. His jaw dropped when he found a whole bundle of emails all telling him that the site was down! Well that was odd. He opened a new window and logged into the traffic tracker he'd installed to see how many visitors the site was getting, and had to rub his eyes before checking the numbers again. He could only guess, but it looked to him as if either the entire academy was using Flitter, or somehow it had gotten shared out for public consumption. Frowning, he did more checks and went to the site itself, which was currently online, the deluge that had taken it down abated for the moment. Finally he picked up his cellphone, staring at his screen in disbelief and shot off a message to Skrein. So it looks like the link got shared to at least one of the universities as well as the Academy. He typed. The site's exploded over night and the host can't handle the load. It keeps being taken offline by the amount of traffic pinging it.VerityHattress Those M's and N's are tricky things! razz

Skrein was surprised to be texted so early in the morning, then recalling that she had told Enomu to text her if anything happened to the site. She sluggishly went to grab her phone while rolling around in bed, opening it up to see what Enomu had sent her ", What?! Flitter did what?!" Without a second thought she jumped out of bed and got dressed, not taking a shower or eating breakfast like she normally would before leaving her dorm. She had to see this for herself. Had Flitter really made such a huge launch? It hadn't even been ten minutes since Enomu sent the message, the Naiad knocking on his door to see if he would let her in. How could Flitter of gotten so popular just over night?!

Aw man, he should have known she'd want to show up at his dorm room. Grumbling grumpily to himself about socializing before breakfast, he rubbed his face and smoothed his expression before opening the door to regard her without surprise and stepping aside to let her in. He motioned to his laptop, letting it speak for him. He still had the tab on Flitter as it had been at last refresh in administrator mode, showing that the userbase had erupted into the triple digits. "It wasn't designed to handle this kind of load." He stated. "If too many people try to log on at once, it treats it like DDOS and goes down. I'll have to move it to a paid server. I can probably find a first month free deal, but if this is indicative of its overall popularity, I'm going to need more than I can probably afford." He looked back at her, ears at half mast. "I didn't think it would be this popular, let alone this fast. People have already started hashtag trends and started sharing pictures and links, even things that have nothing to do with school...it makes me wonder if these people are even students."

Skrein looked over the numbers repeatedly as it kept rising, unsure if this really was happening. How could so many people of gotten to it just overnight? She still couldn't believe it, her and Enomu's site had made it big just overnight! As the reality finally came over her, she began to think upon what Enomu said. He was right, how were they going to handle all this traffic that was on their site? ", I can ask my parents for some help buying some of the servers we will need, but in the end I think we may need to fundraise with those on the site or get a hold of a business person to give us the funds to run the site." With what Enomu said about hashtags, trends, and possible non-academy users, she decided to get on herself and look over what he was talking about ", Who is Cillian, and why is he trending? I can understand the festival, but Cillian?"

While Enomu pondered what Skrien was saying about getting help from her parents and a possible need for a fundraiser or a possible sponsor, she had already gone and changed subjects. Not wanting to jump to another train of thought immediately, he ruminated a bit more over what she had said before and then leaned over her shoulder to look at what she was talking about. "There are visitors." He explained. "Newcomers, kind of like our races....well in that they were secrets, I think. I saw a picture a bit earlier that I think is of Cillian. There's also this 'blame the elves' tag trending that has something to do with something he said. I don't know all the details."

All she could do for a bit was sit there in shock, trying to comprehend how their site had gotten so popular simply overnight. Had her idea and Enomu's coding skills really attracted so many people to join the site? Whatever the reason, the two of them surely would have a lot of work a head of them ", Well... we are sure to get that extra credit now. I'll call my parents up to see if they can send funds our way for some servers to help with the site for now, then we can discuss a possible fundraiser or find a business partner to help with more servers."

Enomu nodded. "Good to have help." He said wryly, though considering his usual tone of voice he didn't think she would pay too much attention. He crossed his arms. "I suppose we have a responsibility to this now. This has turned out be way bigger and more popular than I thought it would be. There's no way this is just students at the Academy, unless people are making dummy account and that wouldn't make sense." Then again, the fact that it was so popular didn't make sense to Enomu. The site was only designed this way because Skrein had thought it was a good idea, and as a quick message board he had thought it could work out. People weren't using it that way, though. The important thing was that it was being used, it was popular and they needed assistance to make sure it stayed running.
