Whisler was in an unusually good mood. He had been for a while now…yeah sure he was still annoyed and broken up over Ashanite…but he had Virell…and Virell was just…mighty nice.
Tonight he was heading home, though his thoughts were on the blonde…maybe he could call him and see if he wanted to come over…they could talk or more than talk…or…well.
He sighed and leapt off of the building he was running on, intending to continue his trek on the ground…and man didn’t something hit him…or he hit something the moment he made it to the ground? Yeah. That happened.
The knight let out a confused sounding cry and flopped backwards, tripping on the hem of his cape and hardly managing to not smack his head against the concrete of the sidewalk. “Holy s**t. Careful there. I’m too beautiful to die right now. I still got my whole life ahead of me.”
He sat up, wincing slightly and looked to see what he had ran into.
…who he had ran into. “Oh. Well, excuse me. You’re too beautiful to die now too, I apologize. I guess you…were just lucky you were hit by an angel like me, hm?”
She was chaos…a dark mirror senshi by the looks of her.
He hoped she was okay.

A soft cry, more of shock than pain, escaped Orcus as she was bowled over by someone whose aura screamed power to her senses. For a moment, she flinched, wondering if that general had somehow found her. Then, she slowly sat up and realized that there wasn't a tinge of Chaos to the aura.
So the person who'd run her over was... She opened her eyes and stared. Okay, a Knight had hit her. That was just dandy. She shook her head as he talked, barely listening. Though, admittedly, she managed to perk her ears when he told her she was too pretty to die. She liked the apology better, though.
"You don't look much like an angel," she muttered, wondering if everyone she encountered tonight was going to have an odd way of speaking. "Lot more solid than I'd expect of an ethereal being too."
For a moment, she stared at his costume and then realized he wore the same symbol as had Sintashta. So this was another example of a Polaris Knight then. And since he seemed harmless and she was still spooked from her earlier encounter that night, she decided that she could sit here and be civil.
And maybe learn a lot.
"Tell you what, Angel Boy," she said, lips quirking into a sort of smile, "I'll forgive you for running me down if you can tell me who I can get answers about purification from."

“Well you know, we angels have to uh…” Whisler shrugged. “Yeah I got nothing. And I’ll have you know, I think I look damn like an angel. Gabriel has nothing on me. Just look at my long, golden locks. I am clearly a gift from God. If you believe in all of that stuff.”
He winked, clearly in his element when it came to sweet talking, though paused when she asked about purification.
“Oh…you uh. Wanna talk to someone about purifying? Well uh.”
The knight shrugged. “I mean, I purified. I used to be with the Negaverse…wanted to go back, then you know. These happened so that path’s closed to me now.” He vaguely gestured to the glowing snowflakes on his cheek and hand and sighed, shrugging. “I don’t really remember it. I don’t remember being with the Negaverse at all, really. I know my old name, but that’s about it.”
Whisler looked her over. “Why? You thinking about leaving the DMC?”

The sweet talking was having little to no of the desired effect on Orcus. Instead, the expression on her face suggested that biting was about to happen if he didn't stop waffling. And it would not be the fun-sexy variety.
Only to be completely and utterly flummoxed by his admission that he had been through purification. Throwing him a startled look, she was grateful to already be sitting on the ground. Because otherwise, her knees would have gone to rubber on her. Closing her eyes, she held up a hand to stave off any further information until she could get herself out of her shock.
"Wait, please. You, yourself purified?"
She stared at the knight for a moment, taking in the glowing snowflakes before somethign else he'd said filtered in.
"Wait, you wanted to go back? Why? Why would you want to go back to people who turn other people's cousins into monsters?"
For the moment, she ignored the question about purifying herself. While it was a thought that had slowly been creeping in, it wasn't something she was capable of dealing with at the moment.

Well. This little DMC clearly had no appreciation for his antics, and that was troubling, and kind of upsetting. Perhaps he was just losing his charm. Becoming a haggard old man.
Ugh. How disgusting.
Oh well. He supposed he could at least answer her questions, right? There was no harm in that…plus she seemed like she wanted answers. She wasn’t attacking him anyway.
“Yes, I purified. I was once Mariposite of the Negaverse. Like I said, I can’t remember why I purified or how it happened…but I know I did it. I know that there were a few people there, Camelot did it, I think. It’s kind of a blur, to be honest but…yeah.”
Why did she sound so disgusted with him when he admitted he wanted to go back? Shouldn’t she be glad about that? The Dark Mirror court was…dark, after all…weren’t they gung ho for the Negaverse too?
“I…yeah. It’s…it’s complicated. But now I can’t go back, so it’s really a moot point, so…don’t go having a cow about it, okay? Why are you so curious about all of this anyway?”

Biting back the groan of disappointment that threatened to leak out, Orcus instead balled one hand into a fist as a means of relieving tension. Of course. Of ******** course. The one person she'd found who knew about purification had no memory of the mechanics or of the whys and wherefores. And... Camelot? Who in the hell was Camelot?
Motherfuuuuuuu-
The thought was interrupted by the admonishment to not have a cow and it was all Orcus could do at that point to not scream and lunge for the Knight's throat. Instead, she sat shaking and leveled a dagger glare upon him.
"Who is having a cow?" she asked voice hissing slightly. "Just because my own cousin is one of them and kidnapped me and handed me over to a General to try and make me one of them, why should I be upset? It only hurt a lot and put a ******** death threat on my head when she found out what I am. Oh! And she only has some kind of creepy goddamn monster living inside of her because I heard the voice and saw her ribs ******** dancing around."
The memory of what she'd seen and heard was enough to take the wind out of her sails and cause her to crumple in on herself as she shook. To her horror, there were even tears leaking from her eyes.
"I... I want my poor, stupid cousin back. Sans monster. She's an idiot and kind of gullible, but she's ultimately a good person. I'm asking because I want to help her. I don't want her becoming a monster too."

Whisler watched the senshi having a complete and utter meltdown, and finally he sighed. “Hey, hey…it’ll be okay. It’ll all be okay…” He hated when people cried, and, hesitating only a moment he put his arms around the dark mirror senshi, reaching a hand up to softly stroke her hair.
“We’ll get her back. I’ll see what I can do, see who I can talk to…I promise, I’ll do whatever I can to help you. My name’s Whisler, and I’m a knight of Polaris…tell me more about your cousin…what’s her name? I’ll see if I can find out anything about her…don’t cry, okay? Please don’t cry…”
He would make everything better. He had to.
…This was his job. Helping others…especially when they were so utterly upset. “Sorry for being a jerk…It’s a defense thing.”

For the briefest of moments, Orcus stiffened as the knight's arms went around her. Then, the simple comfort in the act forced her to relax. And when she felt a hand stroking her hair, the last of her walls came crumbling down. And even as she cried and listened to him muttering soothing platitudes, Orcus was still aware of how very different this hug was compared to the one Nereid had given her.
Smaller face to bosom ratio for one thing.
Reaching up, she latched her hands onto his jacket and clung there until she could bring herself under better control. Nodding slightly to show she'd heard and accepted his apology, the diminutive senshi took a deep breath and held it for a moment. Really, it was the easiest way to get the crying to stop. Even if she'd be hiccuping like an idiot for a little bit after.
"M-my name is Orcus, W-whisler of Polaris," she murmured, a tiny part of her pleased that she'd so correctly guess who he followed. "I-i don't know what she's c-called in the Negaverse. But her n-name's Alodie S-sambrook."
Pushing herself gently out of the knight's arms, she rubbed one hand across her eyes before tearing a bit of cloth from her overlay to use in cleaning up her face. It also came in handy to hide behind as she hiccuped like a fool.
"I... I'm sorry too," she muttered. "This hasn't been the best of months for me."

“It’ll be okay. I promise. If you ever find out your cousin’s name, let me know. Her name in the Negaverse, I mean. I’ll do my best to help talk to her…you know, order might not be the side for me, but it’s my duty now to help others back to the light, right?” Whisler smiled softly, really just wanting to comfort this poor DMC. She had pulled away from his arms though, so…that wasn’t the comfort she needed right now. Ah well.
“We’ll save her, Orcus. I promise you we’ll save her.” He wasn’t sure how…but he know he could damn well try. “I know some pretty awesome people so…if you could find out her name, I could find her and talk to her…get my friends to talk to her…she can’t be unreasonable, and…”
He sighed, remembering when he had his own type of monster living inside of his chest.
“We’ll save her. I swear it.”

Nodding slightly as she listened to him promise what amounted to the moon, Orcus sighed and dabbed the last of the tears from her face. Somewhat reluctantly, she returned his smile and wondered at herself. She even wondered if he promised things like this to all the distraught Dark Mirrors he met.
That thought was enough to make her smile a little deeper, more genuine, as she reached out a hand and placed it gently atop of Whisler's.
"Please," she murmured, voice cracking from strain, "I believe you, okay? It's okay to stop making so many promises. If you think there is a better than average chance of helping Alodie, I will trust in your judgement."
She felt as if the words sounded strangled. She wasn't used to making nice with anyone, much less a knight. And to admit that she needed the help of one, that she was beginning to question the whole of her existence was, well? Unthinkable, really. She was used to being the outwardly strong one. The one who had answers.
In no way was she prepared to be the one in distress.
"Alodie, herself, may not be unreasonable," she said with a sigh. "I doubt the same can be said for whatever was moving around under her skin and stealing her voice."
Still, that was a problem for another time. Forcing herself to move, she got, somewhat wobblingly, to her feet and winced.
"I hate admitting to weakness or uncertainty of any sort,"' she began, eyes fixed firmly on the night sky. "I'm so used to being self-reliant and well, fearless. But since the last time I saw Alodie and managed to get away, I don't like to be out and about very late. I'm... well. I'm afraid. And I hate it."
She let her eyes fall back down to Whisler's face before offering a hand to help him to his own feet and smiling sadly.
"Please don't make me regret telling you these things."

“I won’t make you regret anything, I’ll do my very best to help you, and your cousin…” He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should warn of the memory loss that came with purification, and finally decided against it. “I think the best way to start would be to get rid of the monster inside of her…and I mean that in the most literal sense…I’ll see what I can find out about that, okay?”
Perhaps with that gone, the agent would be more willing to purify, then they could work on Orcus herself.
“We’ll meet again soon, all right? If you can find out more information by then…that’ll be helpful. I’ll keep my eyes open in the mean time.”
He stood as well, nodding his head to her and grinning. “Perhaps, when you and your cousin are free of chaos…we can have a big party over at my wonder and it’ll be great. I would like that.” He winked and turned. “I’ll see you later, cutie. Don’t worry about anything with Whisler on the case!”
…or perhaps worry about everything. Whisler wasn’t that great. But damn did he sure think he was.

"Yes, that sounds reasonable," she replied, still a little surprised by how quick Whisler was to offer help. Still, it was help that she hadn't had ten minutes ago. And she was not about to scorn it. "I'll... try. To learn more, I mean."
She opened her mouth to thank him once more when his next words startled her into silence. The idea of her being purified was... alarming to say the least. Even more alarming was being called 'cutie'. She was hardly cute! She was dignified. And dangerous. And...
Beginning to laugh a little helplessly at Whisler's antics, Orcus simply waved as he turned away and left. Of all the odd people, she thought. Still, she wasn't alone with this problem anymore. She had an ally now. And if she told Nereid, that would be two people on her side in this mess.
Making her own way to the hotel where she was staying, Orcus sighed and hoped that Whisler would be able to learn something helpful.
