Mise walked his daughter through the Criel City Park. Hand in hand they wandered through the nature trail, marveling at the trees which had managed to remain green through a deceptively warm winter. The sun was just starting to set across the horizon, touches of yellow coloring the skyline - setting a pleasant contrast to the plant life.

Mise himself looked a little worse for wear, bruised and beaten but grinning as he watched Echo run around like the child she was. He was glad to see some of that livelyhood return to her, afraid that they might have lost something precious after what had happened with Zephyr. He took a long breath of the crisp air and stared up at the sky for a moment, thinking about how this was what he would fight so hard to protect - this precious innocence, childhood, things he was never afforded.

He kneeled down to his princess, knowing this was the part where she would want to be picked up and carried around - to touch the leaves still on the trees with a childlike wonder he couldn't begin to understand. "Want a lift, sweet pea?" and opened his arms to her.

Echo had slowly come out of her shell lately, after what had happened to her papa. A traumatizing event it was, but the reassurance he would be okay had slowly eased her troubled mind. The idea of the park was an intriguing idea. She hadn't been outside but once before to watch the cage fighting and now something where she could run around. That sounded delightful. She had slowly walked around until she felt more comfortable running about. A giggle escaping her lips, the first in a long time. It appeared that she avoided the other children there, and rather preferred to play alone. Almost like she didn't even see them. She looked up at the trees, bewildered by their vibrant colors. Looking to Mise, she saw his open arms and smiled. "Yes, please." she answered, raising her hands to be picked up. "Daddy is so taaaaaall." she commented with a giggle, smiling at him with a childlike innocence.

Tri sat in a tree in the middle of two to three limbs making a perfect place to rest while the leaves hid him. He had his back to the body of the trunk, eyes closed and head dropped forward seemingly asleep.

In the middle of the park the shadow of a raven stood on a metal pole keeping an eye on those coming in an out of the park. Spotting what it was looking for, it silently took wing and headed up.

Mise picked his little girl up, effortlessly lifting her ontop of his shoulders and standing tall to carry her around the park. His bruises ached, but it was nothing to complain about - especially since she needed this, the giggle from her relieving many of his worries.

He wondered if her seeming anti-social behavior was something she picked up from subconsciously catching onto the tensions between him, his and the human civilization they lived in ... or maybe he was simply over thinking things and she was just a little introverted. He smiled, and shook his head - the last few days had been traumatizing for everyone involved, her and Cassandra possibly most of all, which was impressive given that a man had lost three of his limbs - but they were so young, processing that had to be impossible ... So he tried to tune out that constant over-analytic attention to detail that he had built over the years as a gambler and tried to just be a parent first.

"You know," he said, trying to be a comfort to her. "I will always do everything in my power to keep you and yours safe, yeah?" he meant it, he never allowed himself previously to grow so attached, but - with children, he couldn't help but want to give them the world.

Echo was easy to maneuver to his shoulders, reaching up to leaves in the tall trees, comparing the colors of each other carefully. As Mise spoke, she looked down to him. A smile forming on her lips, she nodded. "I want to be strong and keep daddy, papa, and Cass safe too." she commented very softly.

The raven reached the height it wanted and dove, slowly losing its form and changing into a long slender needle with vestigial wings that slowly kept it flying on course and gaining more speed. It aimed originally at her head but veered slightly off course to just the edge of her back and shoulder, to graze then dissipate on contact.

Mise grinned and chuckled. "If that's what you want, then we'll train you, and you'll be the strongest of-" he was cut off by a high pitched whistle passing just by his ear, processing that before noticing the weight was lifted from his shoulders. "Sweet Pea?" he turned, and watched with horror, a scream on his lips as the girl fell.

The man in the suit with the crimson hair joined Tri in the tree, simply appearing sitting with his back to the same trunk as Tri, where not a moment before the had only been unoccupied air. "Very good,” he cooed "not that I haven't enjoyed our time together, but you've served your purpose. Have some -" He started using the final command, but stopped himself. A final amusement crossing his mind and a grin touching his lips. "... No. No. Remember what you've done here today, you good little toy soldier you." And then he was gone, just as abruptly as he had appeared, as if he had never existed in the first place.

Echo giggled, nodding before she looked upward at the leaves above her as they walked, gasping slightly as she reached up for one of the very few golden leaves, excited that she'd found one so close to the color of her papa's eyes, a small obsession she'd had for some time now.

She was so ecstatic to show her dad the wonderful leaf she found, she leaned to the side to get his attention, wanting to desperately show him her discovery. There was a whistling as she turned her head only slightly to feel a sharp pain graze deep over the side of her face, upward, digging viciously into the side of her skull, not even to pierce completely through but deep enough to easily cut through bone as the force jerked her body forward. There was the start of a quiet shriek of pain before it quickly faded off, her vision blurring faster than she could get the cries to leave her mouth. Closing her eyes, her body becoming limp as she fell from Mise's shoulders, hitting the ground head first, a loud thud accenting how hard she had hit the floor.

All there was was pain, muffled noises that she could barely hear like being submerged in water. Barely opening her eyes, she stared up at the sky, too disoriented and in shock to react, not even crying as she blankly stared upward before her eyes shifted to Mise. Then the sudden endless stream of tears emerged as she cried out weakly. "...d-daddy...?" she sobbed with fear in her voice, trying to move her arms but everything hurt, she couldn't coordinate herself enough to even move anymore.

Tri blinked then blinked again, his mind swimming as he gasped trying to ..no. Pain...deep deep pain. There was someone by him, they were muttering something he couldn't hear only to be followed by darkness as he passed out.

Mise finished his scream, kneeling over his precious little girls body - scooping her up and into his arms, holding her close to him as he shielded her body with his. Feeling her warmth spread onto his hands and arms as he desperately fought back tears, trying to keep a clear mind and keep a strong face for his baby girl, as she bled out in his arms.

He mustered his fathers power, silver light pouring over his hands - not noticing the burning that was starting to set into them - as he directed the light over and into Echoes wound. "It's going to be alright sweet pea. It's going to be ok. I'm here." he tried to comfort her, his healing could fix physical wounds but did nothing for the pain she would experience, he was powerless but to watch her writhe in pain.

His guards, always a few feet away, came to run in and extract them - Mise stood with Echo when he noticed a slight hiss on the ground, a perfectly golden leaf seeming burnt halfway through was smoldering slightly. He thought about how bizarre that was ... when he felt his own skin blister and bubble, the cloth protecting his arms had been eaten away and his skin was covered in developing chemical burns. He howled as pain overtook his senses, and struggled to keep his motor control. He ran with his guards to a nearby car, shaking in pain but keeping his healing light on Echoes wound.
