Gahiji was presently on the move, heading along the outside of what he would consider his 'territory'. He was presently on the ocean side of that expanse of land, scanning the water for any beasts that were out there, his blood all but boiling with his desire to fight! He had his brand new and hand crafted mask on, having pulled it down over his face, and in hand was his yaotl tooth spear. Everything was set! He was set! Now all he needed was to find himself someone or something to fight, he was good either way.
It was as he was walking along the beach that the hairs on the back of his neck started to rise, making his entire body seem to twitch and tingle. Turning slowly he gazed out through the eyes of is mask toward the water, spotting... a trio of beasts. Oh! What were those? He turned himself around slowly, his hand tightening on his weapon, and he inspected them. Gahiji knew a lot of the bigger beast of Matori due to his obsession with fighting with them. Things like the bushi, the snaptrotters, and the Yaotls... but these ones were a bit smaller then the ones that he normally studied so he didn't know them as well. What... were they? What were they? His mind seemed to whirl before he finally recalled their names, they were called drow.
Starting forward Gahiji set to sizing up the trio of beasts, wondering to himself if they were edible and if their hides would be good as armor. He supposed that he wouldn't know until he got into a battle with them, huh? If his weapon was able to cut through their hides with ease then he'd know that they weren't meant to be used as protective armor pieces. They could be decorative, sure, but not protective he thought to himself as he got close enough to them that they finally noticed him.
The trio of beasts turned around to face him, all of them hissing at him at once, their sharp teeth barred at him. His mouth twisted into a smirk behind his mask before he started to charge forward toward the trio. They would be his first battle he thought to himself in an excited manner, adrenaline flooding his body as he approached them, his spear thrusting forward toward the nearest beast, and the yaotl fang sank into the chest of the first one like a hot knife cutting through butter. That must mean that the drow weren't made for armor... or was it the fact that the yaotl fang was so sharp? He supposed that since he wanted nothing more then to fight yaotl one day he knew that these weren't going to be the armor that he wore when he fought the giant beasts. He'd be sure to have some grand armor before that day, just in case.
He'd see about dealing with the creature once he dealt with the other two he thought to them. He would need to field dress them, skin them, salt the hides, and get to cooking the meat. He wondered how they might taste he thought to himself, his ears twitching a bit. They might very well be delicious even though he'd yet to try them. He hummed to himself as he stepped forward, putting himself between his prize and the other two drow. He wasn't sure they might do to the fallen drow. They might very well be cannibals after all and he wouldn't let them stealing them.
The two of them were stood their ground for a moment, teeth barred, snarling at him. There was a long, drawn out moment where they were willing to stand against him... before they both scattered, heading in random directions. He looked slowly from side to side, his body shifting a bit, annoyance showing in his eyes. So they wanted to lead him on a merry chase, did they? That was a shame but he would still deal with them in the same manner that he was planning to deal with them. He wanted to take them out, to make use of their hides and meat, and the more of them he was able to take out the better. It would show his guardians that he was becoming a competent young hunter... or so he hoped.
"Alright drow, here I come!" He called out, lifting up his weapon to rest it against his shoulder for a moment, before he charged forward down the beach and after one of the drow. He'd go after the one that was closer to him then other, hoping that he was able to take it down before moving onto the third.

Gahiji's feet seemed as though they were barely touching down on the hot sand that he was running across as he pursued the second of the three drow that he'd run across. The creature was really fleet of foot, he'd give it that, but it didn't mean that he would allow it to get away from him. He meant to make quick work of it, just as he had the first one, once he was able to catch up with the creature. It felt as though he was catching up... or maybe it was just that the creature was slowing down somewhat? Was it because it was getting tired or because it was planning something? A question that Gahiji should ask himself but it didn't matter to him. All that mattered was the fight that he was partaking in. It wasn't the same as a visceral, bloody fight against something the size of a snaptrotter but it was better then nothing!
The drow sudden seemed to skid to a halt, whirling around to face Gahiji, before it came rushing at him. It was as it got closer that he could see that those sharp teeth seemed to be dripping with a golden liquid. His mind screamed at him the single word 'venom' which had him dodging out of the way of the snapping jaws of the drow. Whirling around to face the creature he squatted down low, weapon out before him, and he set to growling from beneath his mask. He couldn't help but wonder if the drow had run across a yaotl before because it seemed to hesitate as Gahiji growled at it. It was something that he saw as a good sign, not to mention a good opening, and he lunged forward toward the beast.
His yaotl fang spear lashed out, swinging in a wide arc that cleanly removed the creature's head. It was a rather fantastic sight to behold, especially because it wasn't what Gahiji had meant to do. It were as though Jonal himself had guided the strike... or perhaps it was Lenoxe who wanted to bless him with a feast in the form of the drow? It was hard to say but he was happy either way. Standing upright he moved over toward where the headless form of the drow lay, giving a toothy grin behind his ask, "That will teach you to try to bite me, beast!" He declared before caught hold of it by the back legs and moved to drag it back toward where he'd left his first kill behind.
It didn't take him all that long before he arrived where he'd left the beast. Much to his delight he found it right where he'd left it. No other person or beast had shown up to try to steal what was his, meaning that he would be able to keep the spoils of not one but two kills! Grinning from ear to ear he pushed his mask back up on his head, drew his skinning knife, and set to work. There was a lot to do to prepare these drow but he'd do all the work to prove himself a competent hunter to the others!
