Spotting Florizel and his mother walking together was a common sight, especially around the capital of their tribe. While it was true that Florizel and Illuminata resided in two districts that were a distance away from one another, the two still managed to get together regularly. Usually the reason, like today, was to go around with bags on their backs and hunt around for the shed scales of other B'alam. When the bags were full and very nearly too heavy to carry, they would bring them back his mother's workshop and start sorting them into the tradable goods from the craftable ones. Sometimes they got Florizel's brother, Lucent, to join them, but lately he had been holed up in his own workshop, too busy even from his family. Florizel didn't hold it against him.
"Well, Mother," Florizel announced to his mother, peering into his bags and her own, which were nearly overflowing. "I'd say its time to head back and start Step Two, wouldn't you?" He asked and was met with a bright smile."I think you're right, Zel, dear. It's time to head back--woah-oof!" Much to his alarm, his mother tripped over her own paws and somersaulted over her paws, sending all the scales they had collected flying in every which way. Shrugging off his own bags, he rushed to his mother's aid, only to find her already collecting the scales and looking rather embarrassed. "No need to worry about me, Zel, dear. I'm just so horribly clumsy. You know, that's how I met your father was in a similar situation to this. Have I ever told you that story?" When Florizel shook his head, his mother launched into a retelling of how she and Ecthelion had met while they worked to clean them up, hopefully sparing anyone around them too much trouble with their messy multitude of scales.Florizel WC: 264 Illuminata WC: 46

Celestine was out a leisure stroll, she looked at the ground and spotted some stray scales by her feet. Her eyes followed the trail of scales to a pair of fellow light tribers who had spilt their collected scales. She looked around to see if anyone else walking by was helping them clean it up, she let out a small sigh and shook her head the nerve of some B'alams. She slowly started to gather up the scales that had sprawled out on the ground nudging them into a small pile and then picking them up and putting them in a basket that was close by.
"It looks like you two could use a hand with cleaning this up" she piped in before continuing to gather up the scales, at the same time she was curious to know what they did with the scales that the light tribers shed as they go about their daily lives. She never thought that her scales would shed let alone be used to craft things.

Illuminata was just getting to the part where she invited Ecthelion back to see her workshop when the harmonious voice of another drifted into Florizel's ears. Raising his head, he was greeted by the pleasant appearance of a Nantlil who seemed to be about his age, though one could never be quite sure of these things. He smiled at her and was about to reply when Illuminata beat him to it. He tried not to scowl at his mother."Oh, my dear! That's so kind of you! Please!" Illuminata said with a large grin. "Here are the bags, we're trying to stuff them back into. What's your name, dear? I am Illuminata and this is my son, Florizel." At this introduction, Florizel stepped forward in front of the Nantlil and bowed his head, while his mother was still hurriedly gathering the scales. "It's a pleasure to meet you." He said to the other with a smile.Florizel WC: 123 Illuminata WC: 33 StarshineAngel01 Sorry this took so long! sweatdrop I hope you're still interested in the RP?

Celestine was about to say something to the male but then the female spoke up instead "Its my pleasure, always glad to lend a helping hand to those in need. Not many do unfortunately." she told her and chanced a small glance at male to see what he was all about. She would need to see if there is another opportunity to speak to the male. Until, then she continued to help them gather up the spilt scales. "Pleasure to meet you Illuminata and Florizel. My name is Celestine." she answered

"Celestine is a beautiful name." Florizel said, before his mother could. "Fitting for a b'alam such as yourself." Surely if his brother, Lucent were here, the male would say something along the lines of 'beauty is as beauty does' and strut off, but Lucent was not here, so Florizel was going to be as charming as he pleased.
"You must think us silly, for carting around such a multitude of scales." He ventured. "But I assure you, it's for our work. Not as pack animals, of course, but we use the scales in the work we do for the benefit of everyone. It's a family business. Well, part of the family anyway." He didn't quite know what his sisters had gotten up to. "If you're interested, I could tell you about it. Though if you're not, I would hate to bore you with details. It would surely be a crime to bore such a kind stranger who offered her aid."From the corner of her eye, Illuminata occasionally peered over at her son and this newcomer, who introduced herself as Celestine. She was a pretty, young thing and Illuminata was happy to see Florizel interacting with other Nantlil. There weren't many opportunities for it when the boy poured over his work, much like his brother and father did.Florizel WC: 160 Illuminata WC: 58

Celestine smiled a little at the male "Well, I'm quite fond of it too" she told him as she picked up her pile of loose scales putting it in the basket. "I should hope so, because that is my only name" she said with a small playful smile at her name. "I don't think, I'm anyone else" she said with a laugh.
She shook her head "I would never think of it as something silly, if its part of your livelihood, there is nothing silly about it" she told him kindly. "I would love to hear about it, perhaps I'll purchase one or two accessories made from it as well" she told him. "I wouldn't say i'm a stranger, I would think an acquaintance that you met today" she told him. She glanced at his mother "Although I would hate to bore your mother or let alone ignore her" she told the male.

Florizel smiled at the playful replies that the Nantlil quipped back to him. She was of a quick wit, which is something he could appreciate. Kindness and intelligence usually, but not always, tended to go paw-in-paw.
"Indeed, we are only who we are destined to be and no other." He remarked casually, an indication to the grand weaver and all their doings of the world. Then, when Celestine expressed an interest in hearing of his work, he smiled more boldly. "I would be honored if you chose to purchase something from our craft, though I must say, it is my mother that does the crafting." He turned to look at his mother as Celestine noticed her and Illuminata caught their gaze and smiled back at them, scooping the final remnants of scales into her bags, before sliding them carefully onto her back again and approaching the two younger b'alam."Thank you, dear, you are very sweet." She told Celestine with a kind smile. "Rather than have my son talk your ear off about our work, perhaps you would like to accompany us to our workshop and see what it that we do?" Illuminata proposed and Florizel added. "If it's no trouble out of your way, of course. You've already been so generous with your time."Florizel WC: 179 Illuminata WC: 36

Celestine smiled lightly glad that her playful remarks amused him. She would need to dedicate more time to getting to know him, but depending on how busy he is, it might not be for awhile. She swished her tail to and fro idly. "That is very true." she said agreeing with him.
She returned the polite smile "Its the least I can do, not many take time out of their day to help someone need because they have their own schedules to keep" she told them. She thought about it for a bit before answering "I would like that. I don't mind, I didn't really have anything else planned for today, but I would love to come watch you work" she told them.

She had a beautiful smile, thought Florizel. It suited her. He wanted to see her smile more often. He would try to do what he could to make that happen. He watched her interact with his mother for a few moments, before scooping the few remaining scales into his own bags and slipping them over his shoulders. After checking to make sure there wouldn't be any slipping or sliding of the baggage, he turned back to Illuminata and Celestine.
"Well then," He said. "If we're all ready, let us be off." His mother took the lead and he walked a few paces behind her, careful not to bump into her for fear of disrupting the bags she carried. Walking beside Celestine, he began to explain what exactly it was that they did.
"Mother-er, Illuminata, she's the real crafter, like I mentioned. She lives in the Amber District, which is where we will be heading, since her workshop is located there. She's an artist, using the fallen scales as her medium. I, on the other hand, am out in the Amethyst District, as part of the trading community. When we collab, usually what we end up doing is sorting through the scales we've collected. She gets to keep the ones that inspire her and I pick out the ones that are the best for fetching a higher price in the trading circles I'm in. If we still have more left over, which we usually do, they either go to my brother, Lucent, in the Ruby District, to be melted down and remade into armor for the soldiers of the Ruby District or I keep them, to add as extra barter for particularly frugal traders, which are more common than you would think." He grinned at his celestial companion. "It's so odd, that b'alam aren't willing to just give their things to us free of cost, isn't it?" He joked, before a worry struck him.
"I promise, it's not as boring as I've made it out to sound." He added quickly, looking a little sheepish. "Mo-Illuminata's workshop is much more fanciful than I could ever begin to describe." He said, hoping that would interest the Nantil enough to keep walking beside him, rather than turning around then and there. He smiled again at her, before all too soon, Illuminata announced that they were there already."Welcome to the Amber District, Celestine!" Chimed Illuminata, before taking three turns and coming to the open space that was her workshop. It took up a large patch of grass in front of which was a wide crystal tree, its roots spread out into a hole just big enough for an average-sized b'alam to fit through, though Florizel always had to suck in his gut and wiggle a little to fully get through the entrance.
In front of the hole, Illuminata deposited her bags and then gestured with a paw for Celestine and Florizel to follow her under the crystal tree, before disappearing underneath it. Florizel shot Celestine a confidence smile. "You've got to see this." He said and then managed to slip into the hole with minimal effort.
As Celestine would see once she followed them, the underside of the tree was actually rather spacious. It was similar to a den, one might say, but instead of a dirt ceiling, the tree was above them and let in many streams of light that poured into Illuminata's workshop. Within the workshop, hung many various baubles. Pieces of jewelry that Illuminata had crafted, such as necklaces and bangles hung from the upper most roots, making tiny jingling sounds whenever something brushed over them. What appeared to be colored glass, but were actually fragile, translucent light triber scales were placed in between the roots, making the light that spilled into the workshop a kaleidoscope of colors. Materials that would only be found from other tribes, like Floofalo wool from the Ice Tribe or onyx from the Fire Tribe lay in careful piles towards the edges of the workshop, where they were less likely to get stepped on. The workshop could fit four b'alam comfortable or as Illuminata knew from experience, four cubs and two adults. She had spent a good time with her cubs here and to Florizel it was a familiar comforting sight. He only hoped that Celestine would like it as much as he did.Florizel WC: 723 Illuminata WC: 5

Celestine followed the two but not too close as to run into them and knock over the bags of scales, creating another mess. She was a couple steps behind them, but she was only partially paying attention to her surroundings. Admittedly she really wanted to get to know just Florizel. Though she didn't want to tell him that or make it obvious, she respected his mother to not me rude to her. She looked around the district "This is the first time, I've been Amber distrtict. Truthfully, I can't say I've been to the Amethyst district either" she told them.
As she followed Iluminata and Florziel into Illuminata's workshop the appearance of it was stunning. Especially with the crystal trees. She nodded her head as Florziel described what his mother does. She glanced at him sidelong "So if your mother is the crafter, what does that make you?" she asked him. Trying to get to know him, he seemed like a really nice but at the same time she was curious to know the Florziel that didn't work and took a break. "Well, I mean it depends on the B'alam if you foster a trustful relationship then they are more then willing to give up things of their own at no cost" she told him.
She glanced at the variety of accessories hanging from the roots, she saw a couple that were really nice and things she would totally wear on a daily basis, but alas she had not met anyone who would gift her such wonderful accessories. She walked around the workshop, taking the details in. It was definitely a wonderful place to spend their leisure time so she couldn't blame them for wanting to.

"Oh? What District do you reside in?" Florizel asked his companion. He thought about the Amethyst District for a moment, picturing it in his mind and then went on. "The Amethyst District is good for when you want to purchase or trade raw materials, from our own tribe or from other tribes. It's full of crates that have all sorts of colorful objects within and it's also rather busy, since it's the trading hub of the Light Tribe." He smiled, thinking of his home. He would be going back to his official job the next day, after helping his mother with her own work. Helping the family with their jobs was kind of a trend for when they wanted to hang out and take a day off from their own lives. It was fun and productive!Upon hearing that this was Celestine's first time in the Amber District, Illuminata soon sidled up to her fellow Nantil and smiled. "Worry not, my dear. I find usually that b'alam tend to stay in their own districts, unless they're looking for something in particular from another district. Like going to the prism district to admire the capital or to seek out one of the more experienced healers of the tribe. The Amber District is for us creative folk. Usually they're b'alam who are woven to be event planners, whether it's for the tribe as a whole or individuals who are looking to host a gathering. However, I've also found it can be a home to artists, such as myself who deal in creating things with our paws. There is a wide sort of creativity, so many can reside here, if they so desire." She explained to the other Nantlil with a smile, gesturing with a paw around her workshop.Florizel was happy to let his mother take the lead momentarily, stepping back to just observe how Celestine was feeling, but by the end of Illuminata's introduction, he stepped in. "Come, Mother, we don't want to overwhelm her." He cut in, smiling apologetically at Celestine, before turning to his mother. "How about we start to organizing our heap by color and then we can see about quality from there? If we find something particularly spectacular, we can put it in a separate pile, hm?" His mother nodded enthusiastically and set to work.
"You're welcome to help, if you'd like. We can put the reddish scales there, the orange ones there, yellow there, green over by that corner, the blue ones over there, aaaaand purple can go here, I guess." He said, indicating with his paws to the six different spots. Anything else can get their own pile when we come to it. With three of us working, this process will go much quicker and then we can get into the more exciting bit, actually making something from the scales." He sat down and started concentrating, causing the minimal telekinesis all b'alam possessed in order to float the scales up to his muzzle level, before placing them into a pile. "Do you have a favorite color, Celestine?" He inquired as they worked.Florizel WC: 357 Illuminata WC: 160

Celestine listened to Illuminata's description of her district and then listened to Florizel's description of his district. Both, sounded good places to reside in but none that interested her too much. Well, that's no true there was some interest shown in Illuminata's district but not enough for her to decide whether or not to stay. She glanced at Florizel when he had asked her which district she resided in "Um...truth be told, I'm not exactly residing in a district yet..I'm just kind of wandering for the time being" she told him a little hesitant about admitting her indecision of which district she wanted to reside in for the entirety of her life, that is if she didn't find her soul mate. She side glanced at Florizel, she could see herself with him in the future but she didn't want to come off as desperate.
She sat down next to the tahtll close enough to reach the pile but not close enough to touch him. "Why not? since i'm already here and beside it will probably be faster if you had extra help" she told him. That and she wanted to hang out with Florizel some more. The debate of making him the object of her currently unrequited affection was still going through her head, but at the same time he probably already had someone in mind. She shook her head to get the thoughts out of her head and used the minimal telekinesis that every B'alam was gifted with to start sorting the scales into their respective pile.
She thought about his question of what was her favorite color "My favorite color, would have to be blue and purple because well, they match the color of my pelt and combined together they look beautiful" she said, now that she thought about it she was complimenting herself, and at that thought she let out a small smile. "What is your favorite color, 'Rizel?" she asked him tossing in a nickname instead of using his entire name, she frowned a little as she said a nickname instead of his full name, did she know him well enough to give him a nickname. She watched him with the corner of her eye to see his reaction to the nickname.

Florizel smiled indulgently at the confession that Celestine made. "Well, that's hardly a problem. I'm sure there are many who can relate to you on that one. I was just lucky enough to find my calling early on." He gave a half-shrug and then added. "I'm sure you'll find your district when the time is right."
He was immensely pleased when she sat down beside him and agreed to help out and his ears twitched in contentment. "Well then, thank you very much, Miss Celestine." Said he to she. His ears continued to twitch as he listened to her talk about her favorite color, only to find that she liked the ones that she were blessed enough to wear on her back. He smiled at that and made a soft noise of amusement. "Well, that's very fortunate, then." He remarked.
When he was suddenly asked his own favorite color, he was about to reply when he caught onto the nickname that he had been given. He turned and looked at Celestine, with a look of surprise, when his mother cut in."Either you're psychic, my dear," Illuminata put in with a twinkle in her eye, looking over her shoulder at the young b'alam sitting just behind her. "Or you're just very perceptive. Zel is usually what we call him, but your nickname is so much cuter." The fur around Florizel's cheeks became tinged pink and he looked down, embarrassed with himself and his mother, but he was smiling shyly.
"My f-favorite color?" He echoed, picking up another scale. "Let's see..." He examined this scale particularly closely as he thought, turning it over in the air, his mind very well practiced at the maneuver. "I'm rather fond of the colors of the night sky. I admire the stars above, for they shimmer just as beautifully as the crystals trees of the Light Tribe." He said after a moment's thought. He wondered if Celestine would realize he was talking about her, after all, her scales looked rather celestial in appearance.
"Let's have you pick the next question, hm?" He proposed to her as he began to sort scales into one pile and the next.Florizel WC: 338 Illuminata WC: 24 StarshineAngel01 Kyaa~ They're so cute! heart

Celestine grinned cheekly "Well, I'm hopeful I will find my calling sooner rather than later, but at the same time I'm hoping to find my other half too in the process" she told him politely. As she picked up another scale from the pile looking at how the color shimmered before setting it down in its assigned pile. She side glanced at him "formalities, are not required 'Rizel" she told him lightly, she wasn't really crazy fond of formalities they made her sound like she was better than him.
She flushed a light pink as she caught onto the fact that he was talking about her, at the moment she was grateful for the dark coloration of her pelt. At the same time she was smiling at the compliment. She had to admit that was the first time anyone has complimented her like that and she was hugely flattered. She flicked her tail to and fro idly as she picked up another scale and put it in its respective pile. She pondered a bit on what to ask him next.
"Well, let's see. What do you like to do when you aren't in the workshop? or that the only thing?" she asked him out of curiosity. She wondered if he did anything outside of his workshop, everyone has a hobby right or at least most do anyway.belloblossom -nudges Florizel- you like her...

Florizel went on nodding and smiling, understanding where the other was coming from. Sometimes, it really was just best to sit back and wait to see what The Grand Weaver had in store for you. When she criticized his use of a formal name, he blinked and then his smile turned sheepish.
"I just figured it never hurts to be polite." He shrugged. "But as you wish, Celest." He said pointedly with a grin on his face, before his eyes turned back to the job at hand.
"In the workshop? Oh, you mean here, I assume." He smiled a little. "Well, I'm not always here to begin with. This is my mother's workshop, not mine. Like I mentioned, I'm in the Amethyst District, so when I'm not working, I spend my time strolling down my district and stopping to look at the vendors in the area. I also enjoy visiting my brother, Lucent. It's good for him to see family, I think, since he doesn't get out much on his own..." Florizel sighed and then shook himself a little. "He's in the Ruby District and works day and night as a blacksmith. Honestly, I can't imagine being holed up in his workshop all day." He glanced at her and shrugged, before going on. "I like visiting the Capital too, just to get some change of scenery. Everything is so colorful there, you know? And I guess this might be something a little obvious, since I get the impression a lot of us do it, but I really just enjoy sitting in sunlight near the crystal trees and... Well, taking it all in, really."
Now, he turned the question on her, but now before teasing her a little bit. "Do you still think I'm a workaholic?" He asked her. "Because if you do, then you really ought to meet my brother." After a pause, he chuckled and then went on. "What about you, then? What is it that you do for fun, Celest?"Illuminata was more than happy to let her son get on with this young Nantil and tried to make herself seem both as busy and as unassuming as possible. In doing this, she found herself making quick work of the scales she was working on and soon she would be done with her pile.
Well, She supposed. I could always get more of them. Or I could shoo these two off and actually get my work done. Ah, that's it! As she placed the last scale onto her pile, she turned to where Florizel and Celestine were sitting behind her.
"So sorry to interrupt, you two." Said she to they. "But I seem to be out of..." She glanced around her workshop, finding something she could work into her "next project". "Colored dyes!" She smiled widely at the two of them. "Florizel, you know where the dye stall is, right? I won't ask you to go all the way to the Amethyst District, but why don't you and Celestine pop by their sister stall in the Amber District? Tell them I'll trade with a commission and just have them come to me with what they'd like. Peacock blue is what I need. Oh, and burgundy! Thank you, love!" Whil to Celestine she added. "As soon as you return I can show you how I create in the Creativity District. Sound good?"Florizel was surprised by the sudden request his mother had, but he caught her eye and took the hint. Geez, okay, already. He could have asked Celestine out on his own, thanks. With a smile, he turned his gaze onto Celestine and stood, stretching.
"Well, I'd be happy for the fresher air." He remarked casually, though his ears were perked with interest. "And I would love your company. What do you say?"Florizel WC: 404 Illuminata WC: 231
