There were a few people in the cafeteria, including one lone moon hunter who was busy, lounging on a seat while his boots took up the seat next to him and browsing twitter again, keeping himself entertained while others were casting him annoyed looks. He glanced up, sneering at anyone who came near enough. He should have been on kitchen duty at the moment but really, who had time for that. Someone else would take up the slack, he had more important things to do. When he received a few glares from the kitchen itself, he just smirked and waved, then went back to his phone again.

Sherry didn't like wasting food. She never had, and being a hunter had really made her come to appreciate things that were at hand. That said, she really, really didn't like mango flavor anything. If she had known that's what the pudding was, she wouldn't have gotten any. Too bad that under the cafeteria lights it had looked more like banana than mango. She hadn't even tasted it yet. She'd lifted the little cup and took a sniff and discovered her mistake. She glanced around the room, spotting one hunter who looked familiar. She couldn't quite recall his name, but she'd seen him around. He was a good Moon, from what she knew. "Hey," she said, sliding into a seat across the table from him. "Do you like mango pudding?"

Looking up from his phone, Jason glanced at the woman, frowning at the little tub of mango pudding in her hands. He didn't mind the taste, food was good after all, especially if it was free and sweet. "And if I do?" was his reply, eyebrow raised as he recalled her from a earlier mission. She had requested his help to save that new guy. The thought had him frowning in distaste; why had he saved such a moron in the first place?

Sherry wasn't sure how to take the look on his face. He didn't look happy, but she supposed she had just interrupted him at whatever he was doing. Hopefully he wouldn't mind too much. "Well," she held the pudding up to show it, "then this is yours. If you want it, of course. I'm not going to eat it."

He regarded her for several more seconds, before turning to his phone, leaning on his elbow. "If you're not going to eat it, I don't see why I should." He said, the tone in his voice suggesting he was annoyed. "Obviously there's something wrong with it if you're trying to pawn it off to someone else." He waved her away dismissively. "Either give it to someone else dumb enough to take it or throw it away. Either way, I don't want your second hand food."

"Oh." Sherry blinked at him in surprise. She was pretty sure the guy she'd met on the mission had been nice, or so she thought. She frowned at him. "There isn't anything wrong with it; I was trying to be nice." She set the pudding down on the table. "You don't have to be so rude." Sherry was quite offended, actually.

It was obvious he had offended Sherry, but regardless Jason didn't seem to care, mouth upturned slightly at her frown. Of course he had been more friendly to her before, but now? Well, now he was different"No, I don't have to be" he replied, eying the desert placed on the table. "But I see no reason to be polite either. I still think somethings wrong with it, as most would be happy to have such a treat instead of giving it away." He was deliberately trying to provoking her, enjoying the conformation and the resulting emotions it brought forward.

Wow. He was right, he didn't have a reason to be polite necessarily, and for something his being right about that irritated her. "Nothing's inherently wrong with it. I just don't like mango." Sherry scowled at him. "Why would I even try to give away something that was defective?" Honestly, who did he think she was? And then she had a terrible thought. "I didn't poison it, if that's what you're worried about."

Jason was finding the notion of anyone who didn't like mango pudding ridiculous, when the idea of poison was brought up. Obviously she couldn't have done such a thing, but hey, why not play along and toy with her some more? "Well, now that you mentioned it..." He looked at the cup again as if examining it, then glanced her way again. "I suppose you could have added something to it. Although I didn't think you were that much of a b***h, but then appearances can be deceiving..." His smirk grew larger, the moon hunter enjoying himself and his rudeness.

"Excuse me?" Sherry bristled, finding herself hurt and angered. Or mostly angered to cover up the hurt. Here she was worried he might think it was some weird Life Lab experiment, and now she was a b***h? "What on earth have I done to make you think I might be a b***h in the first place?" Some rational part of Sherry was telling her to walk away. However, both her need to figure out what she had done so wrong and her weapon were telling her stay. (Though Armagnac was calling for a fight but that was normal.) "Seriously. What are you so grumpy about?"

"You're excused" was his immediate comeback, spinning his phone around in one hand before he continued. "Oh, a few things..." and he trailed off with every intention of not elaborating. Really, this was too easy. He was barely even trying and she was getting so riled up, it was hilarious! "Grumpy?" He leaned back in his chair as if to contemplate the nature of this supposed grumpiness. "Who said I was grumpy? I'm having a great time now that you come along. You make for great entertainment." "Though if I have to give a answer, I suppose it was the amount of incompetence all around me. It's enough to drive someone mad, really."

Sherry continued to frown at Jason. Why was he being so irritating? Was he trying to be? What on earth had changed? "Entertaining? This is entertaining? Maybe you're not grumpy. Maybe you're an a**." She looked around, as if it somehow made a point. "What incompetence? Don't blame others for your attitude."

"Yes. And Maybe," Jason actually agreed. He saw no reason not to, nor felt like hiding it. Why should he? "Doesn't mean you're not a b***h either." He then stood up, straight and proud and looking down on the hunter in front of him. "I have no need to blame others for how I act. But then it's not my fault many here can't do the simplest of things. Cooking, for starts. Or defending themselves either. There are so many people here that can't function on the most basic level here, it's almost sickening." He leaned in, uncomfortably close to Sherry. "Though I have to wonder. Are you any different? Or maybe you're somewhat competent." A pause, seemingly not caring about personal space. "A very strong maybe."

She wasn't a b***h, though. Why did he think she was? What had she done? It shouldn't have been so easy for him to get under her skin, but he had. He did have a point about the level of competence of some people. People who couldn't care for themselves didn't usually survive too long, though. Which wasn't something Sherry was going to say out loud, since it was a terrible defense and kind of mean to say to all those dead people. Sherry leaned back, not liking him in her bubble. Armagnac wasn't happy either. "Of course I am. And I'm not a b***h. You're just an a**."

"As I said. Maybe." He stepped closer, a soft chuckle as he reached out, his gloved fingers seeking to play with a strand of her hair. "Although you are alive now, so I suppose that counts for something." He didn't care about the people who had died. They were not strong enough, so he saw no need to think about it. Best to leave them behind since they couldn't keep up in the first place. "Hopefully you can stay alive. I'd rather you not kick the bucket anytime soon. I wouldn't have anyone to make fun of then."
