Name: K'dri
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
IC'ly K'dri is totally unaware of his orientation. He hasn't had time for girls (or boys) - or so he claims. He's always been a bit nervous about such things, actually going out of his way at times to avoid talking about it or trying things out.
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Sailor
Physical Description: Skin Tone: Very slightly tanned
Body Type: Kadri is slightly more muscular and filled-out than his twin
Eyes: Dark green
Hair: Brunette, slightly curled. Falls to just above his shoulders, cut shorter than his brother's
Personality: Always the quieter of the two twins, K'dri seems on the surface to be a great person - he's physically fit, responsible, he listens to others and is understands their problems. It's fairly easy to talk to him one on one, though he tends to fade into the background in groups. Once you get to know him, though, you'll find that he has a very cynical side that comes out to those closest to him, an almost fatalistic lookout on life. There are also times when he tends to be
too quiet, like when he perhaps needs to speak up about something, he'd rather hold his peace and think someone else will bring up whatever it is. Growing up, this was usually his brother - so he came to rely on that. His outlook on how his life should be and how people (including himself) should act is also fairly rigid and "mainstream". This could be a bit of an issue when it comes to meeting more free-thinking individuals - including his own brother at this point. They haven't seen each other for a few years IC'ly so he doesn't know what all Ayd'n has been up to lately.
Positive Trait List Athletic, Compassionate, Responsible
Negative Trait List Cynical, Quiet, Rigid
History: Kadri and his twin brother Aydin grew up in Tillek Hold. Their family wasn't incredibly poor, but neither were they extremely rich. The boys dreams growing up were of being sailors or pirates more than Riders - as those professions were things talked about more often in such a large port city. Of course, being a pirate was being a "bad guy", but such things are often attractive to young children. They tended to switch roles in their games, not really caring who was the hero and who was the defeated enemy.
His brother was always pulling him into shenanigans that Kadri didn't really support but would go along with because it was his twin asking. One of these was the two of the "borrowing" a rowboat to see what sailing was really like. The seas turned out to be rougher than the boys had thought and their boat almost capsized more than once, and drove Aydin away from the idea of anything to do with water or sailing. The adventure did just the opposite for Kadri - the quieter twin finding that he liked the motions of the boat on the water, and he was the one that eventually got the boat turned around and headed back to shore. By some miracle their theft wasn't discovered, and the next day Kaydri told his parents that he wanted to be a sailor for sure when he was older.
They tried for a little while to talk him out of what they considered a relatively dangerous career choice, but he was determined. So finally they gave in, and within the next year, he was signing onto whatever ships would take him as a cabin boy. Over time, he learned more and eventually became a career sailor. He didn't really mind being a grunt worker on ships - not having ambitions of moving into any position of rank. He got letters and news from his family - including his brother - whenever he was in a port. He was shocked and found himself a bit jealous when he heard that his twin had become a Dragonrider, but he had no intentions of leaving the life he'd made for himself.
Fate, however, had other plans. On the twins' 17th birthday, he traveled to the Weyr with his parents to visit Ayd'n and meet his dragon. This just happened to coincide with a Hatching and Ayd'n invited his family to go and watch. While the eggs were hatching on the sands, Kadri spotted a small Blue that seemed to be wandering the sands all alone, not appearing to want any of the Candidates that tried approaching him. For some reason he still can't explain, Kadri felt called to the small creature and went down onto the sands - not seeming to hear any of his family's or others' questions of what he was doing.
Immediately the little Blue attached himself to the sailor's leg, and his life was instantly changed. At this point, he's still trying to reconcile that event - though it's been two years - this is definitely not how he saw his life going, and it's messing with his head. He loves Var with all his heart, but still sometimes wonders if he's seriously the right person for this whole thing.

Physical Description: Varyth is mostly a medium blue color with darker feet and underbelly. His wing webbing is a slightly lighter blue
