Elnath had been sort of laying low for the past year and a half though it wasn't without just reason. Being a DCU senior meant that things were hectic, with the majority of her wakeful hours during her final year split between her internship and final project in the hope of securing a good grade. With so many things on her plate as a final year college student, some things were going to have to be placed on the back burner for a bit which unfortunately included her responsibilities as a Dark Mirror Senshi.
But now, a week after she had submitted her final project to the professor for grading and caught up with some very much needed beauty sleep as well as tidying up of her rental apartment, Elnath was ready to resume her obligations to the Dark Mirror Court that was her family. Assuming that nothing untoward had happened to her Dark Mirror sisters and brothers in the meantime during her unannounced period of absence.
Powering up this late into a Saturday night when most of her peers would still be out partying the night away and celebrating their hard-earned freedom, Elnath had mirror-walked directly to the park. The park had always been one of her favourite haunts for victims to drain energy from versus the narrow dark alleys of incapacitated drunks. At least the air smelled cleaner and better here so the alleyways were usually her go to as a last resort.
Spotting a destitute elderly male who was huddled on the park bench and fast asleep, Elnath stopped and got to work, pulling out the mirror shard that she always carried with her to summon a mirror wraith from mirrorspace. "Do what you have to. Just don't drain him completely dry." She instructed as the mirror wraith started to flit through the unsuspecting civilian to commence the energy draining process.

Arseno had been out and about looking to see if he could drain someone or see if he could fight a white moon senshi or knight. He had needed a distraction from school as it had started getting more stressful, especially because mid-terms were coming up soon. That and he had been worrying about his brother too. Jason had seemed to be talking to him less and hiding something, and it was stressing him out.
So he had gotten out of his apartment for the night and was looking for something to do with his new captain status. However, what had peaked his interest was an aura he had only felt once before, but a lot stronger. He followed it, and eventually found a dark mirror senshi using... something to drain a victim. Arseno was highly interested and so decided to see if he could talk to the senshi.
He calmly walked to her, hoping not to startle her and with a relaxed demeanor that meant he was not willing to harm her. When he was just a couple of yards away from her, he asked, "What is it that you're using to drain that man? I've never seen anything like it."

This wouldn't be Elnath's first encounter with one of the Negaverse, though the Dark Mirror Senshi honestly didn't feel at ease in Arsenopyrite's presence given that the Captain was stronger than her and how her previous encounter with one of their Generals (Wolframite) a few years back almost ended with them fighting head to head over a rogue mirror wraith.
Still, the Dark Mirror Senshi was willing to give the Negaverse another chance instead of writing them off based on just that one encounter so she stood her ground and bid the mirror wraith to return to the safety afforded by mirrorspace through the shard in her hand. "We've a visitor. Quickly, back into the shard." She wasn't quite done with the elderly man yet, but she could get back to what she was doing after she was done attending to what Arsenopyrite wanted with her.
Turning to the approaching Captain, Elnath lowered her head slightly to acknowledge the difference in their strength, the initial tentativeness with which she regarded him turning to one of surprise and disbelief when it dawned upon her that he was enquiring about the mirror wraith she had with her. What did the good Captain mean by that? Surely he must have run into a few of her Dark Mirror brothers and sisters during his time as a Lieutenant?
"It's a mirror wraith. Are you... new to the city?" She decided to gently probe.

Well, she seems polite enough. He thought as the senshi lowered her head slightly, though he really didn't feel like deserved it. But, he figured it was just a way to show that she wouldn't attack him. "I have met Dark Mirror Senshi before, however, I have not actually seen what they have done. I've mostly just been told what they are." A mirror wraith though? That was interesting. Dark Mirror senshi seemed to have it a bit easier when it came to draining energy compared to corrupted senshi or lieutenants. They could use a creature instead of having to be directly touching them.
"Let's just say, I'm new to being powered." It was true, he had been powered for less than a year, though he had already been in the city for 3 years getting his degree. He still called San Francisco his home though. "The wraith is interesting though." He looked at her. "I'm Arsenopyrite, though you can call me Arseno if you want."

There was no imminent danger of anyone from the Order side of things or the civilian, whom Elnath was in the midst of draining, waking to interrupt the conversation that she was having with Arseno so the Dark Mirror Senshi allowed herself to relax a little the moment she confirmed that the Captain didn't approach her with any hostile intentions in mind.
"You say that you are new. Yet you must have worked hard enough or contributed significantly to those whom you serve in order to be granted your current status yes?" Elnath pointed out, trying to keep her tone as neutral as possible without sounding like she was accusing Arseno of lying to her. "I'm Elnath. Would you be able to share with me what you've been told about my kind?"
She was genuinely curious about what the Negaverse told the newer officers among their ranks of her family. If Arseno was genuinely sincere the way he seemed to be impressions wise so far, the Captain would have no reason to lie or withhold any information from her. But just in case he needed a little incentive to loosen his mouth, there was that apparent interest in the mirrorwraith that she could work on.
"The mirrorwraith is our precious ally. If you can give me your word that you'll not harm it, I can call it out again if you'll like." She offered with a smile.

Arseno shrugged in reply. "I still don't believe I should have been elevated to the position I am, and so quickly, but here I am." He still couldn't justify it. It was one of the biggest reasons as to why he hadn't even volunteered to be a captain to any new lieutenants. "I can if you wish. I don't know much though as I've only had one real conversation with one of you but... I know that the Dark Mirror and the Negaverse used to be allies but that split when your Queen Ares left you. I had heard about wraiths but I had never seen them before, so it was still surprising to see yours.
"The Dark Mirror senshi don't owe allegiance to the White Moon. That's it. Otherwise you are the second Dark Mirror senshi I've ever talked to." He wouldn't mention the only other thing he knew, that there weren't very many of them. He almost felt a bit sad at that, though perhaps it was just because he believed that they could possibly be good allies.
"I have no reason to harm your mirrorwraith. If we are to drain energy, there are plenty of other ways to get it without attacking your wraith. I have no reason to do so and I won't attack without a reason." He didn't see any point in attacking it either. She was just going about her business, and they were having a nice, polite conversation, why would he do such a thing as destroy it?

Elnath shook her head. "I believe that you're probably being modest now. But no matter, what's done is already done regardless of the reasons your General Sovereigns have behind it so you might as well make sure that you meet the expectations for someone of your rank?" She felt a little bad for Arseno really. Being part of a militarized organization like the Negaverse probably meant that he had to do everything he was told regardless of how he personally felt about it. It was either that or face the consequences when his actions or inactions were looked upon by his superiors as insubordination.
That wasn't something that she could see eye to eye with and she was really glad that she had no part in that. "Thank you. For sharing all that. It is good to know that we're still on somewhat friendly terms though there may be some in both our factions who may not feel likewise." She was of the opinion that being allied with the Negaverse would be beneficial for her Dark Mirror Senshi family. They were a small faction unlike the Negaverse and it would be sheer folly to fight against them so long as the misguided Order senshis and Knights still resided within this city.
"I apologize if my concern seems ridiculous and unfounded." She bowed, an apologetic expression crossing her face now as she offered an explanation for her earlier wariness towards his approaching. "But there was a time a couple of years back when I had just joined my Dark Mirror family that something caused our mirrorwraiths to suddenly turn rogue and become out of control. I was hunting down one of these mirrorwraiths to try to get it back into mirrorspace and there was this general who wouldn't stop attacking it no matter how much I pleaded my case with him..."

Arseno grimaced, though it couldn't be seen. Perhaps he did 'deserve' his promotion, but what he had done to get it still made him feel guilty from time to time. And of course it was like Elnath said, there were more expectations of him now, ones not sure that he could fulfill. He still wasn't quite used to having to answer to someone all the time. He sometimes missed when he had more freedom to do what he waned. And if he did not fulfill his duties, he would be punished. It wasn't nice to have that hanging around in the back of his mind all the time.
"Yes, so far I haven't seen any reason to go and attack any Dark Mirror senshi. I have heard why we aren't allied anymore, and while it makes some sense to me, it still hasn't given me any reason to wish any Dark Mirror senshi harm." He didn't have the drive to go and attack people randomly, unless they were allied with the White Moon, but even then he usually just upped his guard rather than going after them.
He waved a hand though, showing that he was not offended. "It's all right, I can understand the hesitation. I know that not every interaction with someone of a different faction is going to be a good one. We should always have our guard up just in case." He hadn't been there for when the wraiths went out of control, but he had heard about it. Really, it seemed that he had missed quite a bit by coming in so late in the game, though he would have rather stayed ignorant of all of it in the first place.

Deciding that she had seen and heard enough to conclude that Captain Arsenopyrite was unlike the Negaverse officers who couldn't be reasoned with at all, Elnath stretched a hand out towards the Captain with a warm smile. "So long as you do not harm any Dark Mirror Senshi, I'll like us to be friends Captain Arseno."
It was hard to say at this point if relations between both their factions would take a turn for the better or drive an even bigger wedge between them in the future. She would deal with things then if it ever came to the latter.
"Those are wise words indeed. Allegiances and people are fluid in this war so it is best that we keep our guard up until we've ascertained the situation proper."
She nodded her head in agreement, her hand moving to retrieve the mirror shard from her pouch.
"You seem genuinely like a good person so I'll take a leap of faith with you Arseno."
She added with a small smile before summoning the mirror wraith from mirrorspace to sate the Captain's curiosity.

Arseno accepted her hand and shook it a bit. He figured that it would be okay to be 'friends' with her. No reason not to and so far he hadn't really met any Dark Mirror senshi that felt as though he needed to be cautious about them, in terms of being attacked.
"I have no reason to harm any Dark Mirror. They have given me no reason to and I wouldn't go attacking others out on some sort of whim." Really, he still didn't like draining energy all that much, and he still didn't initiate fights if he could help it.
He watched her hand as she grabbed the mirror shard and summoned her mirror wraith. It was... interesting. Nothing like he had expected at least. "Wow... I would consider yourself a bit lucky that you get to command something like this. We just get dinky little things that are our 'weapons' when we first start out. I guess they don't trust us enough not to kill each other." He looked back at her. "Thank you for showing me this. I really like learning about all of these factions and what they can do."
