Book: Prince Caspian/The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (The Chronicles of Narnia)

Powers: Well, she's a Dryad, meaning that she is a being tied to the spirit of a tree within the forests of Narnia. Specifically, she is a maple Dryad. With being a Dryad, she's connected to the being that is her tree, allowing it to do most (if it wants) of what she desires. Beyond that, she is like any other Narnian.

Age: 150 Years (Narnia Time)

Breif Bio: My character, Liel, sprouted as a puzzling nymph. Ever since her valiant partner, the maple tree Kaduf, had sprung its first leaf, her first phrases came as questions. As a result, she was always a sort of a 'black sheep' of her people. While the rest of the Dryads drifted and associated themselves with the other Narnians (fauns, talking animals, etc.), Liel continuously used her curiosity to bring out knowledge, asking the eldest and wisest of creatures about the ways of Narnia. Because of this, she grew up a learner, a Dryad desiring knowledge.

After the return of King Caspian to the throne of Narnia, of course, and the return of the Kings and Queens of Old, Liel's existence became much more interesting. Her partner, Kaduf, had finally awaken, as such happened with the rest of the trees when Aslan returned. Liel found a companion to her life that somehow shared the similar wish for wisdom and a... somewhat unrequited sense of humor. Ever since then, she and Kaduf had become the best of friends; siblings to quests of the unknown, both imaginative and both constantly wondering. And yes, even when they sometimes found themselves knee-high into bothersome arguments.

Yet both knew that their wants for information couldn't be satisfied by staying stationary. Kaduf couldn't travel, but Liel could. Making her decision to migrate away from her people, including her maple Dryad clan, Liel left the region of Narnia where she had resided for all her life. She didn't tear when she parted from the trees she was familiar with nor Kaduf (after all, they could still talk intuitively, for this came with the price of being a Dryad), for as a small Narnian, she didn't have that many friends beyond the historic characters as well as Kaduf. Instead, she kept her head high to travel to Cair Paravel, the Royal City of Narnia, facing the homeland of Aslan himself, to discover more that she wished to know.

Extra Info: I hope that wasn't too long. O_O On other boards, typically (especially with Harry Potter boards), we had to submit character profiles that were pages long in Microsoft Word. Also, once I get my imagination/evil mind going, it cannot stop. crying It's a weakness.

At this point in time, Liel has just started her journey, her home region being close to the lamppost where it was said Queen Lucy the Valiant had first arrived and met the faun, Tumnus. As a Dryad, she doesn't need very many supplies besides the constant intake of water and sunlight. Also, as is needed and as is part of the character of a Dryad, Liel is a bit of an optimist... who doesn't know how to read besides the scripture that she made herself as a young child. Because of this, she carries leaves upon leaves of stories and other portions of information with her beneath a traveling cloak. Yet at the same time, when approached with a sign marking a conjunction in the road she's traveling on, she'll often become confused and take the wrong direction. In other words, she may be quite smart and witty, but... she has a horrible sense of direction.

Okay. To shorten the amounts of character description pouring into my head at this time, I'll go ahead and just describe what other little things you should probably know. As is another characteristic with Dryads, music is a need. Thus, Liel carries an instrument that was given to her by a mentor upon whom she learned and wrote down countless bits of wisdom. Also, Liel has a knack for... creating things. Mechanical things, most of the time. Currently, she's working on a pair of wings that'll allow inanimate things to fly, though it's not going so well. She then carries them on her back when she walks, making her look somewhat ridiculous and foolish (if not insecure).

One last thing: she's attempted to disguise herself as a human/Telmarine. So, with her talent of making, she created a traveling outfit that she thought would be typical of a human, which makes her feel uncomfortable in turn. So let's add a little bit of bitter irritation to the mix shall we?
