Virell had been thinking about texting Nick ever since they'd gotten back from the man's Wonder, but he was very adept at playing the 'I'm interested in you, but not desperate' game. He'd sent the first text an hour after they parted ways--a simple, 'I had a great time with you. Hope we can do it again, soon.'
It was partly to let Nick know that he had gotten home safely, and partly to let him know that he was still thinking about him.
Then, he'd waited just a bit to set up the next date.
Date?
Well, it wasn't quite explicitly a date, but a meet-up sounded too bland. Besides--it wasn't like a 'date' meant they were preparing to get hitched.
The tiniest, bemused smile appeared on Virell's as he stirred the drink he'd ordered when he'd first arrived at the quaint little restaurant. Naturally, the thought of a married life with the man he'd just met slipped into his mind, but he dismissed it after a few humorous seconds. He wasn't some overly obsessed creep, but when he'd woken up next to Nick--yeah. It was easy to think that he wouldn't have minded waking up to that face.
He probably would have even enjoyed it.
He glanced at his phone again; it was sitting on the table next to him in case Nick texted back.
Virell was between shoots--which meant he had two hours of free time, and a quick search of the area told him that he was incredibly close to where Nick had said he worked. So, now seemed like a good time to plan another meeting. He'd texted him a while ago and hashed out details--and now he was just waiting for Nick to show up.
He had texted a selfie--smiling, perfect angles, so that Nick could find him easier.
...Not that Nick didn't know what he looked like, but it was a habit.
Virell had been on a lot of blind dates.
He was currently sitting at a table by the window, coat draped over the back of his seat and looking more like he was wearing a summer outfit than a winter one, but the cold didn't seem to bother him. He wore red--a trademark, and took a sip of his drink, some fruity, alcoholic thing, before he resumed tapping through his phone.

Nick had been surprised to get the text and invite...surprised, but pleased. Very pleased. He had texted back nearly at once, agreeing to the time and place, and made his way to the restaurant. Glancing at his phone when it buzzed, the blonde laughed at the selfie that Virell had sent, and quickly took one of his own, sticking his tongue out, and trying to look much more stupid rather than alluring. He wanted the other male to like all sides of him, after all.
When Nick made it to the restaurant he slid into the seat across from Virell and grinned. “Thanks for the invite. You’re looking as beautiful as I remembered.” Just because he was in a mostly committed relationship didn’t mean he couldn’t flirt...after all, nice words were the least of his concern when it came to this guy...besides...what Arias didn’t know wouldn't hurt him, right? And, to make things better, having someone to flirt with and blow off steam with actually helped him to like Arias more, so it was a slightly perfect situation, no matter how you looked at it. Sort of. Not really, but thinking that way made Nick feel better.
“I do hope you missed me.”

Virell looked up when Nick occupied the seat across from him. "Aww," he cooed, "You're sweeter than I remembered."
He sat up a little straighter and fixed his hair, smiling. "I did miss you. I hope this isn't too forward, inviting you out like this?"
In case it was, he didn't wait for a response. "I ordered some appetizers, so they should be here soon. And a drink--" he gestured to his and took a sip before offering it to Nick. "--Do you want one? They're so good. They can make you a virgin if you've got to go back to work."
Virell was only recently technically of legal age, but he had a damned good fake ID from before--for all those times he had to buy his drinks himself.
He was trying to start out slow; he didn't want to scare the guy by getting too personal. Though, their time together a few nights ago sort of broke down the barriers on 'too personal'; Virell was backtracking just a bit to give them the opportunity to know each other a little better, in a different way.
Plus...no matter how much he wanted to think of this as just a fun date, he'd been a little worried about Nick. It was good to see him here, smiling.

Purple eyes raked along Virell’s frame and a slow, almost excited grin spread across the blonde’s face. “Appetizers, hm? Darling, you don’t need to feed me to get me to like you, you know. You did that just by being there for me the other night.” He reached across the table and took Virell’s hand in his own, squeezing it gently. “Thank you, for that, by the way...and now, I don’t need a virgin, I’m off for the day...what about you? Are you done for the day? Maybe we could head back to my place after lunch…?”
Maybe he was being way to forward, but honestly, Nick didn’t really care. He liked it. This was exciting. It was a new game, a new way to see what he could get away with...and this guy was on his side. They could do things like this. Normal things like this...go to lunch, laugh...chat..
Think about a future…
Even though he had that with Arias, Virell was just more exciting...Arias was great, he was...but he was so vanilla...and Nick was just...not really in the mood for vanilla...Virell sounded much tastier than vanilla.
The grin widened at the thought. “You really are a beautiful guy, Virell...or, do you mind if I just call you...Rell? Relly? Virell’s kind of a mouthful.”

"Relly?" Virell asked; he laughed and nodded. "Yes, I like that. You can call me anything you want, except ugly."
He wrapped his fingers around Nick's playfully. "Unfortunately," he sighed, "I am not off for the day. I've got about an hour and a half before I'm booked for the next two."
His lips pursed and he glanced back up at Nick. "It might be a little boring, but if you'd like, you can come back with me? I don't usually bring people to the set with me, but we're allowed to have guests. Well--special guests, but I'll just tell them you're my boyfriend and they should leave you alone." He winked--and suddenly sat up straighter. He waved to someone behind Nick--the waiter--and pointed to his drink.
The waiter seemed to understand what he wanted; the two exchanged thumbs-up before VIrell relaxed in his seat again.
"If you're not interested--and I wouldn't blame you, work is work, even if you are surrounded by half naked men--maybe we can raincheck for this evening? I'd love to come over. You've got such a nice energy about you--and you are so easy on the eyes," he said, winking.

“No, I’d love to come watch you work, it would be amazing, thank you for the invite.” He paused, waggling his eyebrows at the other blonde. “...Are you going to be half naked as well, Relly?” Nick gave a slow, deliberate wink and even went so far as to lick his lips, before laughing and stroking the hand that he was holding. “I’m half joking...though I wouldn’t mind seeing you without your clothes again, I wouldn't mind in the slightest.”
If that wasn’t an invitation, he didn’t know what was. “So, tell me honestly, what did you think of my wonder? Did you like it? Was it as nice as I tried to hype it up to be?”
Not that he had done much hyping...like, at all...but still. “Next time you visit, we’ll have to really spend time just enjoying everything about it, and not just...enjoying me.”
When the waiter brought Nick his drink he murmured a word of thanks and took a nice, long sip of it, sighing in contentment.
“Now, why in hell are you so easy to talk to? I really...like it.”

Virell just laughed. "I'm not the only one easy to talk to. I'm so used to," he shrugged, "playing a role. It's nice to relax. I think...it's easy to talk to you because we met when I was someone else? If that makes any sense."
He leaned forward, voice quieter than usual so he could confess, "Alya doesn't have to put on a smile for everyone. I didn't have to act a special way or do anything special when we first met, it was just...nice. You're really relaxing. Of course, I do actually, want to make a good impression around you, but ."
He leaned back and smiled again. "I think we got off to a good start. But just in case you need time to think about it--yes. I will also be half naked. And if that's not good enough, I'm sure we can work something else out this evening. We aren't going to your Wonder again, right? --I do like it, really, but I have class in the morning. But I think I'd like to see it again. Honestly, I was more interested in you than your Wonder, but...I think I'd like to get to know them both a little better."

Nick drew Virell’s hand to his lips, placing a light kiss upon it. “Just so you know, Relly. You never have to play a role for me...and you never have to put on a smile for me...You’ve seen me break down...and you’re still here...I swear I’ll do the same for you. I’ll always be here. No matter what.”
His eyes locked on Virell’s red ones and in that moment he knew that those were the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. Like two glistening rubies.
“Nah, we’ll just go to my apartment, we’ll cuddle and maybe watch some cheesy romance movies and really just...get to know one another...if you have school in the morning, I can take you. What are you studying? What’s your dream for when you...finish growing up?”
He grinned, his other hand curling around Virell’s, now caressing it with both of his thumbs.
“Also, what the hell do you use to get your skin so soft? You have to tell me your secret.”

Almost sheepishly, Virell shrugged and dipped his head. "It's...It's silly, it's just class. I don't even know if it'll go anywhere. I mean, the worst case scenario is...I won't be young and beautiful forever. So I'm, uhm."
As if revealing some terrible secret, he whispered, "It's math," before promptly clearing his throat and sitting up straighter. He changed the subject as rapidly as he could: "--I've got this excellent lotion, I've got samples back at my place. I'll let you try it, and if you like it I'll hook you up with the retailer. I wish I could say it's all natural, but I just can't lie to you."
He winked, teasing, but glanced back down at Nick holding his hand. He wasn't unused to physical contact, but for some reason just holding hands with Nick made him smile.
"Which is why I'll be honest--that sounds like an excellent evening." Tame, but nice.
Usually tame didn't excite him but he was suddenly very eager to be done with work so he could take it easy and spend time with Nick.

Math? Nick blinked, clearly surprised by the answer, and even more surprised by Virell’s sudden and complete aversion to it. He changed topics so quickly Nick felt his head spin. “So...You’re in school for math?” He gave the hand a squeeze, trying to convey that he wasn’t making fun of Virell. Trying to just...make him see he was supportive. “Do you think you wanna be a math teacher or something?” He smiled, then grinned. If Virell had ever been his math teacher...well. There would have been some issues in that class, he was sure of it.
I tried university, and I had thought about cooking school...but after I flopped…” He shrugged, unwilling to say it out in the open like this. “...I just never really went back to pursue it. I still think about it sometimes...I’d love to go and be this amazing chef who has a cooking show and inspires people to go out and cook and make people happy with their food but…”
He shrugged, looking almost sad. “I doubt it’ll ever happen. I’m not focused enough. So, now here I am, a low level kitchen cook...it’s okay though. I’m totally living the dream.”
Nick paused for a moment. “I mean, at least it’s not fast food or anything, I’m actually in a restaurant...it’s just not...the ideal dream. Not right now, anyway...and I’d love to try some of your lotion, but I don’t really think I want to hook up with the sales guy, but thanks for the offer.”
Now he was teasing, and gave Virell a wink to show it.

Virell laughed and shook his head. "No, no. Oh, you're terrible. He's not your type," Virell promised but didn't expand. Instead, it was his turn to be interested in Nick.
While he felt a bit more at ease about the whole math thing, he still seemed a bit shy about it. Nick's passion though--that was something else.
"You should do a vlog," he said, taking another sip of his drink. "Make your own cooking show. It's really easy, I've set up a few. Vlogs, not cooking--I can't cook," he said with an indifferent shrug. "But you've got a good look, you're very charismatic. If you've got a clean kitchen, you've got a show. I mean," he shrugged coyly, "I'd watch you just for your smile. Oh! You should do a gimmick. You’re in the kitchen, working up a sweat, so every episode it get so hot you take your shirt off. Or, you cook in just in apron!"
He was teasing, but it was clear that he was fond of the idea.
With a little more seriousness, he said, "You should think about it, though. You don't need a degree to be a good chef--or to be famous. But if you want to teach people how to cook and inspire people, the internet is full of endless possibilities."

“No, no, it wouldn’t be because I got so hot, it would be because I spilled something on my shirt. Like, I could get this whole, pouting face like…” Nick pulled this half heartbroken look, fluttering his eyes helplessly. “Oh no. I spilled something on my shirt again. Ugh. Then fwoop. Off my shirt goes and I slip on some sort of apron. It could change each time, make it like a running gag…”
This could honestly work, and the more he thought about it, the more he liked the idea. “Damn you’re too smart for your own good, Virell. Maybe you could end up being my accountant, if I end up getting super famous.”
He winked at the other blonde. “Think of that. We could go into business together. That could end up being fun, don’t you think?” If he was good at math...he might like that, right? Besides...Nick had the sneaking suspicion that Virell would like to work with him, at least...maybe. Or perhaps that was just wishful thinking.

Virell scoffed. "If you get super famous, I'd better be more than just your accountant."
Virell did not blush. Virell did not get embarrassed. Virell was not modest, and yet, he felt the faintest warmth in his ears.
And butterflies in his stomach.
He squirmed in his seat a bit, trying to will the emotion away. Still, the more he tried to repress it, the harder it was to keep the giddy little smile off of his face.
He got called a lot of things, but smart wasn't usually one of them.
"I like that idea, though--something on your shirt? That little pout is adorable. It sells--very well. Put some more thought into it--seriously! If you want some help, I'd love to work on things with you. I have a lot of followers online--I'll send them your way, too. And," he donned an aura of false seriousness. "I will have you know, people pay me for shoutouts. But I like you, so you can pay me in smiles."
He leaned forward, mischievous little grin spawning on his face again. "And kisses."

“Wait, you expect me to pay you in smiles and kisses? Don’t you think that might be just a little much?” Nick leaned over the table, pecking Virell on the lips, regardless of what he was saying. With a dramatic sigh the male pulled back and placed his elbows on the table, sighing in obvious pleasure at the blonde sitting across from him.
“We can talk about it. To be honest, I don’t really know if I’d be entirely comfortable with taking my shirt off so often, I mean, it’s a funny thing to think about, but I don’t know.”
It was something to think about, at any rate...and keeping Virell that close in his life gave him this odd feeling in his stomach that he really, really enjoyed so...it couldn't be all bad, honestly. “How about you and me just spend the next little while stuffing our faces--” He couldn’t help but laugh when the appetizers arrived just then. It was fate. Everything with Virell seemed to be perfectly timed.
“...And we can talk about the vlog or whatever back at my place tonight, deal?”

Virell propped himself up on his elbow, resting his chin in the palm of his hand as he smiled fondly at Nick. "That sounds like a perfect plan. But, I just want you to know."
He reached for one of the mozzarella sticks he'd ordered but never took his eyes off of Nick. "You could probably get away with doing a show with your clothes on, too. Well--I shouldn't say that so soon. You should show me how well you can cook, first."
He was being deliberately coy and took a bite of the mozzarella stick, dragging it out. Shoving the food to one side of his mouth, he continued, "Maybe, dinner tonight? I'll show you how I work my magic for the camera, you show me how work your magic in the kitchen, and then after we're all done eating and cuddling, we make a little more?"
