The body bag wasn't overly heavy, so Sherry wasn't exactly struggling with it as she dragged it out of the Dormitory building. The bag was stuffed fully, though most of whatever was inside had shifted to the end being dragged. Sherry was rather unceremonious about the whole thing; she was basically taking out the trash. "Hm. It's rather nice out," she mused to herself, readjusting her grip on the body bag and turning in the direction of the infirmary. "Should be a nice day."

Chantelle was probably one of the happiest people on the island. Every day she got to pursue her hobbies, get free meals and hang out with everyone else on the island. Her life was excellent and her books were coming along really well, as well as her music, she felt blessed.
Sometimes she went for walks just to experience the island in all its glory and that what what she was doing when she spotted someone dragging a body bag. She opened her notebook she carried with her for story ideas and went after Sherry at as much of a jog as she could manage in her high heels. She was very carefully made up in full gothic attire with lipstick, eyeliner and hair dye, with a fancy corset and all the trimmings.
"Oh wow I'm loving that body bag aesthetic." she said as she caught up. "Mortuary chic!"

Sherry was a little bit surprised at Chantelle's arrival, seeing as he came in at a hurry. "Oh! Why thank you," Sherry said with a grin. She really didn't know what else to say. "I was just using it to help me haul a bunch of linens to the infirmary." Every sheet and blanket and curtain that had been in her room, in fact. She looked the stranger up and down. "I quite like your outfit." Sherry adored the corset look. In fact she was feeling rather under-dressed in her basic leggins and long sweater. She was almost sad it didn't match the body bag better. But oh well. "I don't think we've met before, I'm Sherry."

Chantelle nodded in approval at this. "It's very efficient. That's a lot of laundry." She wasn't entirely sure how much laundry one person could have.
She did however look utterly thrilled at the comment on her outfit and clapped eagerly, doing a twirl to show off fully. "Thank you so much!" she said. "I like to dress up a bit, though on the island there aren't many people who appreciate the effort. I'm Chantelle, it's really nice to meet you."
She grinned. "I'm in Life division, Dr H is the best, he's like totally a lovely man, and a bit of a hunk, don't you think?" There was something just a little bit off-kilter about Chantelle but nothing particularly threatening, just a bit awkward. "Do you need a hand?" she said.

"Oh, I'm hoping to donate it. I'm redecorating." Sherry was VERY excited about this fact, and the smile on her face showed it. "Time for a change, you know." Sherry gave her head a small shake. "People around here just don't appreciate enough, sometimes." It was all too true. "Oh! I'm Life, as well." She laughed. "I have to admit Dr. H has a certain charm about him." He did, really. With just a hint of something darker. She trusted her Division Lead, but she didn't think she'd heard anyone call him a 'lovely man' before. "Quite charming," Sherry was nodding. Stepping a bit to the side, Sherry said, "A hand would be lovely! Or even just some company. It's always nice to meet someone new." Sherry liked to know people a bit before judging them, if she could. "What have you got there?" She gestured in the general direction of the notebook she'd seen when Chantelle arrived.

Chantelle beamed. "Wow! Redecorating, I really like, wish I could redecorate my room, but it's one of those basement ones, everything I put on the walls like, gets totally damp really quickly, its a nightmare. I'm hoping to like, move up in the world soon though! Then I'll have such a fancy place, it's so nice to have a change of space, I bet it looks totally different."
She could absolutely imagine the place she'd have and how she'd be able to have people round to visit.
"This is my notebook." she said. "Where I keep all of my ideas I get for new stories. I'm a writer you see, I like to write stories, mostly love stories. I'm hoping to be a famous author one day like Stephanie Meyers or J K Rowling. I also like to write about things people do here, little stories about the people who live on the island, though with names changed and stuff."
Nodding she went on. "Maybe there's room in my next book for someone who carries their laundry in a body bag!"

"Oh no," Sherry had heard things about those basement rooms. "Don't worry! I'm sure you'll be able to move up and out of the basement. I know when I moved upstairs it was absolutely amazing. Room to breathe and actually move around. The best part, honestly, was getting a whole bathroom to myself. It's so nice to soak in the tub after a rough day." Sherry was a little bit in love with her bathroom. "A writer? That is super cool." She grinned at Chantelle, honestly impressed. There was a certain bit of discipline it took to be a writer, and Sherry admired that. "Oh! That's a great idea. Lots of drama and strange happenings around here." Sherry laughed as she moved along the path once again. "I'm sure you could fit in body bags holding laundry. Quirky lab techs who fall in love? I don't know, you are the writer after all!" Her brow furrowed. "Are you idea hunting today? Do writer's do that?"

"I do it every day." she said, before looking a little guilty as she admitted. "It's nice to get out of the basement. Any excuse is great. I would absolutely kill for a bathroom of my own, I got to use one once when one of the hunters let me borrow their spare room" It had been wonderful. "I'll have my own one day, I'm moving up the ranks a bit at a time!"
"But yes EXACTLY though at those ideas, I love the lonely labtech story, I write lots of variances of it, sometimes I sell them to the hunters in the labs, they seem to like them and take them very seriously. Sometimes weird things happen and I have to write about those things too."

"Oh, yeah. Getting out and about is always good, and seriously, the bathroom is worth ALL the fuss of promotion. So worth it. As long as no one breaks the plumbing, anyway." She grinned at Chantelle. "You'll get there soon! But hey, if you ever want a nice long soak after a hard mission or day or something just send me a message. My tub is pretty nice and I don't use it all day or anything." They continued down the path a bit, and Sherry laughed. "I can just see everyone getting excited over a good story. Especially ones that hit close to home." She glanced at Chantelle. "What sort of weird things have you stumbled upon lately?"

"I'll probably take you up on that sometime." she said with a smile. "The showers in the basements aren't much good really, I've had some really horrid things like, come out of the pipes and whatever. You are lucky to get any hot water too."
She flipped through her book. "Well like, I've seen lots of weird things, explosions, messes and whatever like, I saw all this black sand out on the beach and stuff. It's fun when you find something that was wrecked or whatever and you have to try and guess how it got that way. And here it could be annyyyything."
She beamed. "I swear I saw a dragon down at the underwater base once."

"I've heard stories about those showers," Sherry nodded. She was still nodding as Chantelle talked about things she'd seen. Very, very true. One never knew exactly what something could be around here. Anything was possible. It was good to have someone actually keeping an eye out for odd things, though. At the mention of a dragon Sherry felt Armagnac perk right up. "A dragon? Really? Would you mind telling me about it? Or letting me read about it, if you've written about it?" Sherry paused for half a beat. "I think I'd like to read your stories sometime, not just about the dragon."

"Yeah the stories probably don't even do it justice at all." she nodded.
"And yeah a dragon!" She nodded. "I mean I think it was one, it was a big thing that swam past the window when I was down there." It probably hadn't been anything really, just a shadow or a large fish, but her imagination writ it large in her mind.
"I wrote a story about it where a hunter down there like, went out for a swim and they become friends with it. I can give you some of my stories to read, I like writing so so much."

"I can imagine," Sherry said. Sometimes it was hard to describe something - and Sherry was well aware that the basement was one of those things. "I would not be surprised if it was a dragon." She really wouldn't be. Armagnac was telling her that they needed to go check and see, but Sherry was quietly telling her no. At least until Chantelle mentioned the dragon story. "That sounds like a fun story! And yes, please! I love to read, and it's been a while since I had anything new." They were nearing the infirmary, where Sherry intended to deposit her bag of linens in a closet somewhere. "Do you keep all of your stories in notebooks?" Sherry didn't really know how writers worked, when she thought about it.

"It'd be really magical if it was a dragon." she said. "I love dragons but my favourite are vampires and werewolves though! I want to marry a vampire one day who is really romantic and has lots of money."
She was very very cheery, practically skipping as they went. "I'll drop off some printouts at your dorm, what one is it?"
And shook her head. "Not all, some of them I typewrite out and put them in folders and things, its just tough to keep paper from getting damp down there."

Sherry could certainly agree that dragons were pretty great. However, the comment about marrying a vampire threw her off a little. She couldn't tell if Chantelle was being serious or not, and considering the world they lived in...it was something that was theoretically possible. Of course, she could be talking about it the same way girls talked about such things not knowing vampires were real. Or like how Sherry said dragons were cool, but she mostly meant fictional ones and her weapon. She was still wondering how concerned she should be when Chantelle asked her for her room number. "Oh, 283. I'll look forward to reading them!" She nodded. "I see. A typewriter would be useful. I wonder if a de-humidifier or something would help keep the damp out. Probably not though." Then, because she was still concerned she asked, "When you say vampires and werewolves do you mean like, Twilight style?"
