A man could be seen walking the edge of the rivers banks. He eyed it cautiously seeing the river rage as it went by. It's roar damn near drowned out all nearby sounds. The crow on the mans shoulder seemed uneasy as if the water made it nervous. "Then off with you..." The man said playfully shooing the bird from his shoulder as it took off the sky above. Surtr smirked as he watched it soar up above the river seeming far more comfortable now that it couldn't be swept away.

"Hmmmm... where to jump in?" Surtr mused slipping his arms free of his coat. His pale but muscular figure was now revealed and upon his back lay the tattoo of a giant three eyed raven going from shoulder to shoulder. This man was no dragon a rarity in this land to be sure but then again Surtr never really paid mind to things like kingdom divisions he was interested in far grander things than the petty squabbles of races. He had his eye on something particular at the bottom of this river but he doubted it would be so easy as jumping in.

As he was preparing his descent he stopped hearing the soft voice of a young woman looking over he saw a dragon? In her human form he supposed? He wasn't 100% sure they often kept to themselves so Surtr never had much time to study them. His fiery eyes flicked over to her scanning her up and down noting that she was covered in gems? What a curious one this youngling was. "Who might you be..." He inquired seeming to ignoring the fact that he was pretty close to naked in front of a stranger, wouldn't be the first time nor the last for Surtr personally.

Realizing she asked where the two were Surtr figured he could at least enlighten the dragon let her know where she was. "On the edge of the mage and Dragon kingdom... if memory serves the river actually divides the two... though I've never paid much mind to such things." Surtr said playful returning his gaze back to the river. "What are you doing here little dragon?" He asked wondering exactly what she was doing her. "hmmmm... quite cute though. I imagine someone is looking for you." Surtr said playfully noting both her physical appearance and that one such as her would likely be sought after in some way.

"Mother? Your mother is still alive? Say youngling who is your mother? and who are you?...." Surtr inquire turning and taking a few steps towards Surtr. He walked slowly towards Millenia and stopping a few feet from her inspecting her a bit closer now after seeing her pull the stones from her. "Interesting, that's a side effect of whenever you change eh?" He inquired looking at the places where the gems were with no remark remaining. He huffed softly blowing the ebony hair from his eyes as he inspected her. He bent over getting rather close to her now as he inspected her face. "May I?" He asked raising his hands to inspect her closer but not touching her unless she gave him permission. He had never observed something like this and it being so soon after her transformation he could learn a great deal. A real opportunity to be sure!

"You black out when you shift you say? Intriguing, perhaps due to your age or perhaps you are quite powerful and your mind can't handle yet. Or it could be due to a strong emotional reaction...." Surtr said thinking aloud something he often did as he went through his train of though. "Oh I could get you back to the dragon kingdom it isn't far at all.... Definitely tricky for someone who's never made the journey before though." Surtr said softly still awaiting her permission. As she inquired about him Surtr figured he'd answer. "I am here for the river. I am not a dragon you are correct, 2 for 2 in fact with the mage guess." He said still waiting she had yet to answer any of his questions so perhaps with him extending an olive branch he would get something back from her.

As she gave him permission Surtr moved forward his hands slowly moving over the marks his fingers deftly moving over the marks softly and subtly feeling out things. "Intriguing it seems your skeletal structure isn't changing. It's likely that these gems are forming as a result of some elemental proficiency..." Surtr said moving his hands down from her face to her shoulders following the skeletal structure tracing the bones carefully. "Remarkable.... At 1500 years of age you say? If I remember correctly that is a point in your race where you undergo changes so I suppose it makes sense." He said removing his hands after stopping at the shoulders not wanting to get too fresh with the youngling. It would have likely felt like a very nice massage but in this rare instance it was purely a scientific venture. He would make that move later if it became appropriate.

"I don't mind at all. I'll take you there personally if you don't mind. I wouldn't want to point you off in the right direction and have you wander off. Someone like you Millenia would likely draw the eyes of others. I am Surtr by the way..." Surtr said cheerfully looking back to the water let out a deep sigh trying to figure out what was the best approach. "Supposedly there is a scroll at the bottom of this river.... It contains a spell. Something I'm trying to obtain but I've hear rumor their is a water spirit guarding the scroll as well." He said obviously focused on it attempting to figure out what he was going to do. "... Though sometimes people lie so perhaps it's just a strong current. I'm not sure though." Surtr said glancing over to Milenia as if she would have some solution. She was cute, it was shame that he had something precious down there. If it wasn't he'd happily attempt to woo this one before taking her back. Giving her a good tale to tell to the rest of her kind.

"It's likely that you are old enough to become an older classification of dragon. I bet this in between stage you are in is the cause of your blackouts.... though that is just conjecture so it could be wrong." Surtr said with a playful smirk. "As for the scroll my cute little dragon it is certainly down there. Someone put it there to prevent others from finding it which is why I will
Find it. Surtr said with a playful grin as he looked over to her.

As she offered to get it the mage shook his head. "No way could I do that. You are obviously royalty of some degreee. If you did somehow perish I would be to blame.... likely resulting in a kill on sight order of me. I fancy my skin not burned to a crisp." He teased softly insinuating some dragon would burn him up. Surtr was actually guessing, a you fling around 1500 years old with an ability unlike any other with people looking for them and a mother who's name wouldn't be shared? All the pieces added up and Surtr new full well what that meant.

"I have yet to go down and try to retrieve it. I'm sure there is something protecting it.... if it's alive it will attack first, if it is a spell it will happen after so I'm trying to discern which it is before I go down." Surtr said thinking aloud and sharing the information with Millenia he had no reason to lie she seemed harmless enough so why divulge why he was here. The girl seemed naive and innocent so much so that Surtr was uncharacteristically not hitting on her. A rarity to be sure something unheard of in fact. Though the scroll likely aided with this.

"I'lll flip a coin to decide." He said aloud turning to his coat and rummaging through it before pulling a coin from the coat he flipped it watching it turn end over end in the air before grasping it firmly in his hands. As he saw its result he smirked before tucking it back into his coat. "Looks like I'm going in. " he said with a playful smirk shaking himself out a bit so he would be nice and loose for what would follow.

"Correct..... IF I am right it should stop in time." Surtr said softly giving her the truth in admitting his words were just conjecture and they couldn't be correct. As she seemed shocked by his words Surtr chuckled softly. "I've been around quite a while my dear. And all royalty act a certain way" He said with a very playful smirk gently poking her forehead teasing the dragon playfully. Surtr was in a very playful mood the anticipation of going in had him very excited. He rubbed his hands together wondering exactly what his first move should be.

"I doubt that. Especially since your royalty your mother would likely burn me alive and accuse me of lying if I told her the truth." He said with a playful smirk as she inquired how he would do it. The mage nodded at her statement agreeing with hers "Typically yes you are correct. Though I will use a spell that makes my body as hard as iron so I'll sink right to the bottom." He said with a smile as he opened both hands and holding them in front of his chest. As he did a swirl of fire formed between them. Surtr then thrusted it within his chest.

Within a matter of moments the ground beneath him began to groan and Surtr himself seemed to look sluggish and slow. "I'll be back. If you get into trouble my crow will protect you." Surtr said glancing up to the crow for a moment before literally falling over into the river belly flopping. He quickly sank to the bottom thankfully having taken a deep breath before he went. Upon reaching the bottom his eyes peered through the dark surface before finding a rock that was out of place.

Overturning it slowly he had his over hand waiting like a net and scooped the scroll up as it wriggled free with the help of the current. After having it Surtr blinked his eyes and suddenly he was rushing along the bottom. Fire sudden erupted from his feet propelling him diagonally upward as he went. He would burst from the water about 20 feet down stream of where he entered landing on his back taking long deep breaths before holding up his left arm with the scroll in his grasp.

"Got it!" He exclaimed a proud chuckle following as let out a few haggard breaths trying to compose himself.

As Millenia came to his side and was all wet Surtr let out an audible sigh. "Really?" He inquired looking to her shaking his head softly. lI was barely keeping it together and now? Come one why are you even more attractive when soaking wet?" Surtr said with a sigh trying not to stare at the younlings physique as she touched and inquired about the scroll. "It's got a spell in it. Something I wish to learn and then destroy so that no one else may learn it until I'm old and wish to pass my knowledge on to a pupil." Surtr said watching as she touched the scroll.

Why did she have to be so freaking cute? Surtr was like a moth to flame and her current form only made the fire brighter. "Frozen you say? Well I actually match up quite well against that." Surtr said rising up so he was now sitting. "Have you ever been kissed?" He inquired playfully as he was now face to face with Millenia only a few inches from her. The mage was doing this intentionally trying to get the youngling to move and give the mage some space. He figured due to her timid nature bringing up such a thing would surely succeed.

The scroll would feel ancient and was sealed tightly grasped in his hand as he looked deeply into Millenias eyes awaiting her response wondering how she would play this game. He was quite confident he knew, so confident in fact he'd be willing to make a wager.
