Coral had not wanted To take this job but her sense of duty with strong. Coral was a delivery seathi and she took her duty very seriously. She was supposed to deliver a ruby from seathi named ceres living in ship rock to that seathi's cousin who lived near the coast.

Xue Fang as a Snow spirit was a creature of ice and snow he seldom came down from the mountains but the cold winter allowed him to travel freely. While most soq feared the coming of Winter Xue Fang enjoyed the freedom winter brought. His herd was descended from a long line of Yuki onna's and they had both the strengths and weaknesses from the gifts their bloodline had gifted them. His herd had big bodies much larger then normal soq and their manes and coats tended to be long. Their body temperature was well suited to the cold mountains and if he ran quickly in below freezing weather he would have to ice himself by laying in the snow to cool down. Warm weather was uncomfortable to him and the desert was deadly to him. If he was not careful if could easily dehydrate in hot weather. During the Summer months he and his cousins were trapped in the mountains to avoid the heat. It was winter now so this was the time where he could travel most of the soq lands. The herd duties could be left to cousins at least for a few weeks. Every once in a while he needed some time to himself to think and reflect. He loved his family but they could require too much at times. It was good for all of them to take some time away from each other. As he near the coast the air had more of a bite to it. Air being colder nearer the water was not too unusual but as he got closer to the water he noticed the ice had an unnatural quality. Weak cries could be heard coming from the water and a variety of soq stood at the bank. Some soq were trying to help those in distress, while others look like predatory birds waiting to feast. Still others looked like they were enjoying the spectacle. Xue Fang might have considered helping the small voices that cried in distress. However has herd was secretive in nature, they seldom revealed themselves to the larger soq population. The spectacle had attracted to much attention for him to act freely. Cover himself and in mist Xue Fang crept closer to the water. If needed he would interfere but for now he would watch. Still undecided he spotted walkers, he would tangle with them if he had to but he preferred not to fight such unpredictable enemies if he had little reason to. However he soon spotted several fire elemental soq. Fire soq had always been his herds enemies perhaps he could play with them. His eyes gleamed, and cruel thoughts flew through his head. He might help the little voices coming from the water since it seemed a pawed fire soq was intent on eating the little ones. Xue Fang has some power it wasn't as strong as other soq but ice and mist were part of the power that ran through his blood. He wrapped his mist around him to stop other soq from clearly seeing him. If he was home this camouflage would be near to perfect but near the coast his outline would still be visible. Placing a hoof on the ice he tried to pull some of the coldness from the water into himself. Hopefully the ice would be just a bit easier to move through for the seathi, he didn't have the power to met the ice but he hoped making the ice just a bit warmer in a few spots would help the seathi.

Xue Fang had grown up in a herd surrounded by love. In the herd all elders were called Auntie and Uncle. Foals of the same generation were called cousins. While the familiar ties of his herd might seem strange to other herds it was not strange to the snow spirit herd. All snow spirits in the herd claimed direct ancestry to a legendary Yuki Onna. Other snow spirit herds each claimed descent from their own legendary founder. So each herd considered any members living in the herd family. Even adopted herd members while rare were considered family. Fighting between herd members were rare and usually herd members intervened to bring peace between the fighting participants. If no resolution occurred between the parties and violence was feared one of the fighting herd members would join another snow spirit herd. His life drastically changed when a fire elemental herd violently attacked the snow spirit herds. Most within his herd were killed and he only escaped because the mist that surrounded protected him when he was unconscious from head wound. After the attack Xue Fang move to the eastern mountains and for a while snow and ice were his only companions. He tried to close his heart to all emotions because his loss is too great. Love was not an option because all he loved Had been destroyed. For a while he toyed with the idea of simply fading away. If he died his body would just become part of snow and ice. However one day several of his herd members that he thought Had died hunted him down. His heart thawed and he started to experience emotions other then depression.

Prompt response: Dacian thought on his words before replying. He was secretive by nature both because of his personality and his upbringing. Dacian did not like to share aspects of his life with strangers but maybe it could help lay to rest the jumble of thoughts swirling in his head. " I am thankful for the dark woods, my homeland an area that most soq avoid with good reason. Dangerous plants exist in the dark wood and in the woods depths their are onlyfaint traces of light. My mother found my father on the outskirts of the woods. His beauty attacked her and he became easily smitten with her. However I do not have their luck at love. At the outskirts of the woods I found a female kirin trying to escape several kalona intent on her blood. She was outnumbered so I intervened and dusted the kalona with my moth dust. Moth dust has the ability to stun other soq, I lead her into the depths of the woods while the kalona were incapacitated. She asked me no questions as she swiftly followed me. It would be hard for an enemy to follow us as most soq were unused to traveling in the dark. Here the woods could lead most soq astray if they didn't know the secret pathways my herd had created. My mother had taught her offspring many of forests secrets. My siblings and I used to wander among the trees and mysterious small fauna. We would dare each other to see which of us could venture the furthest into the heart of the forest. As a foal, The adventure was adrenaline rushing and thrilling. Now the knowledge he had gained as a foal was priceless. He was easily able to navigate the forest and could even navigate the pathways with his eyes closed. The heart of the forest was almost pitch black so eye sight didn't help much with navigating through the trees. He could hear the mare starting to breath heavier as she continued to follow him. Feeling that they had escaped successfully he finally came to a stop. "Are you ok?" He turned around and asked the mare. " Physically I'm fine but mentally I'm a little shaky. I was traveling when the two Kalona rushed at me. I've interacted with kalona before but this behavior was very unusual. I felt like I was in danger and I would physically be unable to fight them. In the distance I could see the forest and I hoped my smallest size would be beneficial in weaving through the trees. I thought I would have the best advantage in the forest. Thank you for helping me. I did not think soq lived in this forest. I admit I'm starting to feel extremely exhausted now that my adrenaline rush is fading away," the mare remarked as she leaned against a tree . Her side was foamed with lather. " We were both extremely lucky, few know the paths in this forest. I believe we are safe now," Dacian said to the mare.

Prompt response: Wen Tian stood utterly still as he thought of a response to the question. " I have few memories of my family. It seems like I've been alone my whole life. Besides my days as a foal, I've never had another soq protect me or see to my well-being. I have only myself to rely on, if I don't save myself in dangerous situations no one else will. I can't wait for a white knight to come save me. I don't have the luxury of relying on another soq or companion. I have to figure out how to get myself out of danger situations. I have to think quick. I have to act fast and I have to help that I will be lucky and survive. I've realized that ones intelligence increases when you have to think quickly and make fast decisions. I would not consider myself to be the smartest soq, but I am quick and clever. I have often had to outsmart an enemy because my intelligence is one of the only tools I have at my disposal. I am quite small in stature and my physical strength cannot defeat those who are much larger than myself. I am quick of tongue and I can be beguiling and charismatic. My words can be like honey or I can speak words can be painful like a knife twisting from inside. I use what tools I can to survive. When I've encountered danger situations and I've escaped with no or little scrapes I thank Lady Luck. Sometimes all you have is hope, a wish for good fortune and luck. However not all danger is physical. Some danger is falling into a bad situation or decision. I've often felt the need to fall in love . Sometimes I've gotten my emotions and entangled. I felt the desire to fall in love so much that I've gotten myself in relationships that were not healthy. Luckily fate has always intervened. Sometimes the mare would fall out of love with me and fall in love with A different fellow. Sometimes I would realize that a relationship was coming to a dead end. As I got older I realized perhaps love wasn't for me at least not yet. I have some growing up to do. I need to become more than an adult First. I need to be more patient and the need to think before I act. I need to be less self absorbed and more caring to a partner. Luck is what you make out of it. Luck can be a wonderful happenstance and is hard to control. I can only hope that luck will fall on my side. I hope I can Count luck to be my friend, Intelligence and luck have gotten out of dangerous situations both physical and emotional.

Prompt response: Xue Fang spent his days isolated from most of the soq herds. He had traveled far from the icy North and has staked out his own piece of land in the cold mountain tops. Xue Fang had to fight to survive when he did not want to survive. Had fought many enemies and his claws had been splashed with blood more than once. He was by nature not evil but circumstances that caused him to become more cruel in nature. He had hardness that had not been aparent before his herd had been atacked. He had become extremely protective of his territory. Luck had intervened and saved him when many of his herd had died. He often Took joy in spooking other soq or use force if necessary to remove soq from his territory if he deems they have ill intentions or if they are a flame/fire based soq. Xue Fang will also guide other soq out of his territory and the area around it if they get lost. He’s an Alpha tempered survivalist and is willing to use his keen intelligence and brute strength to survive. His herd battled elemental fire soq and he became separated from them. He intensely has a deep hatred for fire based soq and is really protective of any family he could potentially have. Even if he does have a fling it’s to be expected that he would protect any of his offspring and the mare that bore them even if they no longer have a relationship of any kind. Xue Fangs herd live in the eastern mountains and they are really protective of their herd leader.

Prompt response: " I can't say that I've had anything particular value stolen from me. I count myself lucky in that regard, what I've lost has been by my own fault. When I was younger I made un-intelligent choices. I was self-centered vein and a bit manipulative. I don't think I was that way out of meanness, more like I didn't know any better and I acted that way because it served my interest.

Aodan placed one hoof in front of the other and plodded across the grasslands. The grass was high this time of year but it was not green and lush. Instead the tall grass was dry and almost dead looking in appearance. Looking at the grass was almost looking at a personification of the feelings Aodan contained inside. However the grass was dry and brittle looking because it hadn't rained in some time. The summer months were dry and sweltering with a humid heat that stole the energy of all soqs, animals and most living thing. Only the ticks seemed to be thriving amidst the humidity . Aodan hated ticks, hate was to mild of word perhaps loath would be more accurate. Aodan had been taught to love and appreciate all the spirits creatures however he had never been ably to appreciate or even like fly's, misquotes, or tricks. He was just not a fan of anything that had the ability to bite him. Insects were one of the announces that would briefly bring him out of his severe depressed state. There was noting like being bitten to surprise you. Unfortunately the winter moths had been very wet which had let to a rise in the insect population. The grasslands were a hospitable habitat for many insects though he was realizing why he hadn't seen many soq in the grasslands. Clearly they were most wiser then he was and stayed clear of the long grass. The air was humid as if the sky was trying to keep all the heat packed down on the ground. If he could fly he would fly far from here and far from the heat. Looking for some possible source of rain, Aodan gazed at the sky his eyes squinting as his pupils adjusted to the light. The son was high in the zenith position, so after a few seconds he hurriedly gazed far into the horizon at the clouds that slowly moved across the sky. Aodan remembered watching the clouds when he was a young foal. He and and the friend would gaze in wonderment at the sky. They would look at the clouds and try to attribute a shape or characteristic to the clouds. Some clouds they would say looked like small rabbits. The one of them one make up a story about a bunny and what that cloud bunny had been doing. Was it a good cloud bunny or was it mischievous. Both of them would tell the other stories and they used to compete to see which of them came up with the most creative story-lines.
Now Aodan was not in the mood to play fantastical games he did not have the desire and his heart did not have the lightheartedness it once had. Instead he only looked at the clouds to gauge if it was going to rain. He wanted it to rain and for the chlorophyll in grass to make the grasslands once again green.

When it rains it pours!

Username: AislingJuno
Who are you entering with? Oriana
Link to the RP you're using:
Prompt response: Oriana was born to the desert lands. A place where the heat was excessive and the earth parched for water. Most of the year the desert lands were unbearable but Oriana had grown up in the desert. The harsh conditions were just a part of everyday life. However there came a time when the rains would poor down and engulf the desert land. For weeks in would rain with no interruptions her herd called this time monsoon season. The constant downpour seemed to never cease and the sun went into hiding hidden by a blanket of dark grey rain clouds.

After some weeks the rain would leave as suddenly as it had came . The wind would rush the dark clouds past the dessert lands and off to the north east. So swiftly did the clouds fly by that few desert inhabitants would witness the clouds departure.

During the monsoon season the desert would suddenly come alive. Flowers that had been hiding as seeds during the hot months would suddenly explode from the ground.

During the week after the last rainfall, insects that lay doormat under the hot sand, would burrow out from beneath the ground. Migrating birds would suddenly arrive, driven to the desert lands in the search of an easy meal. After the monsoon season, was when living in the desert was easy. Oriana wished that time would just stop for those weeks. The desert during this time was a wonderful place to be. It seemed like the world was celebrating life. Purple hummingbirds with vibrant colors danced as the flew in the air. The males preforming intricate flying patterns that made them appear as if they were dancing as they tried to entice the female hummingbirds to take them as a mate. The female hummingbirds coloration were not as vibrant as the males and they would watch the males carefully to find which male was the most pleasing to their eye. The females were very picky so the male birds would spend many days practices his dance.

Oriana was from a desert herd that often preformed rain dances. She was an excellent dancer and she apprenticed the graceful effort of the male hummingbirds. If a male stallion danced as gracefully as a hummingbird the stallion would easily snare her heart. However she still had not met the special male that would make her heart beat so fast it would feel like it was flying. She hoped the female birds knew how lucky they were.

Not only the hummingbirds but many other animals came the desert at this time of the year to give birth or find mates. The desert was a harsh place most of the year, if you didn't respect the desert it would easily kill you. The time of the monsoons brought new life to the desert but the constant rains could also cause flash flooding. However after the monsoon season she appreciated the brief time when the desert lands became beautiful and lush with life.

Eimear made a short aspirated sound which sounded like” Tssk”. The noise could be heard by those in the kitchen, but few paid her any attention. Everyone is the kitchen had heard that particular sound on numerous occasions. They knew Eimear was unhappy with some part of the pantry. Most likely certain dishes were in more demand than expected and the pantry was running particular low of one or two ingredients. In the case of the kitchen running low on ingredients she would talk to her Mom and ask that the front push the other dishes that were not in danger of running out of ingredients. Some supplies running out where of little concern, they could be picked up at the market for the lunch service. Sometimes the suppliers were delayed in their deliveries. Eimear liked the panty and kitchen supplies to be immaculate and her temper flared up when the stock items were not properly accounted for. The restaurant at Journey's End Inn was her family’s business and she placed vital importance on her job.
The little mouse had two sides to her personality. One aspect of her personality was a carefree dreamer that loved to play matchmaker on her free time. Eimear was enamored with idea of destined lovers. She liked to think that every fam and soq had a destined partner and some like her parents were lucky enough to find their other half. Eimear liked to play matchmaker to the patrons at Journey's End Inn, however she played cupid on her free time if it didn’t interfere with running of the Inn. Glyssa had no control of her fins, her body shot through the water at a dizzying pace. White noise had filled her mind during her escape and her body had just reacted with little thought. Glyssa was not sure what feeling she was experiencing, but she knew she was extremely embarrassed. Her thoughts finally started to return to a more normal pattern and her fins slowed down until she was just drifting in the water. If Glyssa had acted like her typical self she would have spoke to the Mer with brashness and a bit of swagger to her words. She would have thanked him with a twinkle in her eye and in style. The Stallion would have been touched by her sincerity and her boldness. In the a usual Glyssa like manner , she would have left in impression on the stallion with her charismatic personality. However Glyssa had acted out of character. She was sure she did leave in impression on the stallion, but not a favorable one. In her mind Glyssa recreated the scenario with the stallion, she was so embarrassed. Why did she have to panic and swim off like a fish with no sense. Glyssa breathed deeply and will water saturated wth oxygen fill her gills. She tried to call her raging heart and decide what her next move would be.

However stray thought kept bugging her. "If only I kept," she whispered to herself. She could not turn back the clock of time and while she visualized all the different scenarios of how she could have acted and what she could have said, it was to late to change the past.

" Stop why are you panicking and feeling sorry for yourself?" Glyssa reprimanded herself . "You had just spent part of the day in a perilous situation, you have an excuse for not being polite to the mer. At least you thanked the fish. They were the ones that ate that horrible seaweed that had entrapped you. Beside the Mer was a stranger and the ocean is so big, it's not like your ever going to encounter the stallion again. He was just a stranger who was in the right place at the right time. You would have also helped any seathi or mer that needed help. Ocean soq help each other, that is one of the tenets you were taught growing up. The Mer can just return to his home tonight feeling accomplished that he upheld his civic duty and that he is a hero. " Glyssa tried to reason her actions and tried to cheer herself up, but a part of her was still upset by this experience. Being in danger really made a girl reflect on her life. Institutionally Glyssa knew that this experience had changed her deeply.

It had been a long day and Glyssa just wanted to settle down in her part of the Coral Reef. She settled in the piece of Coral she called home and tried to rest her aching body. While her body might have been exhausted by days experience, she did not sleep easily. Glyssa was nagged by the thought that the day had been important milestone and she had lost a special opportunity at happiness.

As he watched the retreating figure of the seathi as she hurridly swamp away, Marrow could feel his lips turn in a frown. Was he really that scary looking? He couldn't do anything about his looks, but he hoped his actions in saving the little searthi had shown that just because he looked a bit scary didn't mean he was evil in nature. Marrow often tried to act in a gentlemen like fashion, but so often his deeds were misunderstood by others due to his frightful appearance. Marrow hoped the little seathi did not thing he was going to eat her. Marrow had heard some stories that some mers did in fact eat the meat of smaller ocean dwellers, but he did not know if the story was fact or fiction. Stories tended to get twisted the more they were retold. Could the female have heard the stories and thought that Marrow was one of the ocean's flesh eating Mers. Is the reason she hurriedly swam from him was because she was worried he would eat her. Marrow closed his eyes in thought and spoke to the yellow and blue fish that were still swimming by him. "I really hope she didn't think I was going to eat her." The fish blew bubbles at Marrow to comfort him. They did not speak their thoughts , but they shared his pain. After all due to their sharp teeth they were often misunderstood by others to be carnivores. Few knew they were just misunderstood friendly vegetarians and not fish bursting with killing intent.

Over the next few days ,Marrow thought of the little pink seathi and wondered what had happened to her. He hoped she had not been to weakened by her struggles against the seaweed. However after many days he though of her less in less until she was a faded memory. He did not yet know that they would meet again and this time she would be the one helping him.

Coral was delivering a diamond cut red ruby ring to a band of Mer artisans on the eastern side of the reef. The delivery had been uneventful, which Coral preferred. Her job as a delivery worker was often difficult and dangerous.
Coral was young and could swim speedily through the ocean, but she was still a small seathi. Many ocean creatures could easily eat her, if she was vigilant.
