If there was one thing that soothed her soul and made her feel better, it was her pets. They were her heart and soul, her darling little friends, and without them she would have felt more lonely that ever. Luckily, because of them, that wasn't the case. Well, her family made her feel needed. With the zillion of them running around between the two houses and yards someone always needed someone else. And since she was one of the older kids in the family, lots of chores and taking care of kids fell on her shoulders as well as the other older kids. Most of the time she didn't mind because family was family, but it still wasn't friends.
Today her attentions were on her pets. Cleaning their houses, giving them bathes, and such and such. Something she gave herself a day for every couple weeks to makes sure everyone's stuff was taken care of. Bananers was always the easiest to take care of since he didn't have a cage. Errr, well, bath aside. He didn't quite like bath time most of the time. But now it was onto her bunny buddy. Bon was her comfort and snuggle buddy -- stuffed animals aside -- when she was feeling down. No he didn't purr like a vesper cat, but he stayed with her in her arms and let her just hold him.
When she brought Bon out of his cage, she cuddled him close then realized that he seemed to make a really strange sound. "That was weird... You okay Bon?" she asked him, stroking between his ears gently. That was when she noticed that he had sores from scratching. "What in the world is going on, huh, Bonny boy?" She took her bunny into the bathroom, setting him in the tub within the bathtub and running some warm water to fill it just a bit. "We'll get you feeling better BonBon." She began to gently scoop and drizzle the water over her bunny's body to clean him.
It took a while longer than normal, but Popple was able to clean her bunny and his scratches. She felt concern for the little guy, but they weren't infected, so that was at least something of a relief for her. With a smile, she sat on her bed, bunny in her hold, wrapped in a towel as she worked to softly dry him. "I bet you feel much better now, huh?" If anything, this just confirmed that she wanted to take care of animals when they weren't feeling great when she grew up. Something she knew from when she was younger confirmed as she held a much happier Bon in her arms.
