Arseno sighed in disgust as he watched the man slump down next to the building. Arseno had been watching out in the theater district, looking for someone to drain. He hated having to look around for new victims. He hated having to continually prove his loyalty to the negaverse. He had heard that the White Moon were oppressive and that the only way to live in a free world was with the Negaverse, but at this point, it seemed that the White Moon didn't have as many obligations as the agents did. He had been sitting on a bench near some of the buildings, not really caring that he was in his powered form. If he was to be attacked then so be it. But he wasn't going to go and hide anymore. He was too angry at himself to continually hide in the shadows. And so eventually, another drug user had eventually popped up and Arseno had chosen him as his draining victim. It was easy, and he had been able to do it before the user could even inject himself. Maybe a good sleep of sobriety would do him some good.Arseno looked a while at the energy orb he held in his hand, it was floating slightly above his palm. What's this even going to? He had been told it was to power them, but the White Moon senshi seemed to not have to rely on victims to stay powered. And so here he was again. Disgusted by himself.

He had been lingering around in the theater district for a bit himself, pondering powering down and catching a late show. Seconds before he could confirm that decision he felt a surge of Chaos. "So much for that idea, " he muttered to himself as he climbed down from his lofty perch. The Knight of Cosmos stood out brightly amongst the darkness as he followed the Negaverse agent into the alley where he'd drained his victim. He might have interfered had it been anything other than energy that the Captain drained, but it wasn't and he hadn't. "Nice night to make new friends, don't you think?"

Arseno cursed to himself a bit as he wheeled around and summoned his weapon, trying to be ready in case this knight wanted to fight. He had been too absorbed in what he was doing to where he missed the knight's signature. It seemed though that the knight just wanted to make some pleasant talk... so far.
He considered what the knight had said and decided to talk with the knight, just for a bit. He wouldn't hesitate to attack if he needed to though, and he would keep his weapon out. He let his weapon touch the ground, keeping his hand on the top of it. "Make new friends? Are you looking to make friends?" He really wasn't sure what this knight was talking about, or why he had asked that, other than perhaps it being a sarcastic question referring to Arseno draining his victim.

"I am always looking to make new friends." The knight's smile was warm; friendlier than most others might have been in intercepting a Negaverse energy drain. While the officer might have his weapon drawn he didn't seem to be an immediate threat. If he was going to attack he would have already. "The alley probably isn't the best place for a chat, though, especially not with your other new friend slumped over like that. Someone is bound to notice at some point. Meet you up on the roof?" The Cosmos knight made a gesture to a fire escape ladder, offering that as an option for getting them both off the street.

Arseno raised an eyebrow at the suggestion. Sure, he had talked to senshi and knights before without fighting, or at least without them really wanting to, but considering he was upgraded and not a lieutenant, he was surprised that a knight would still want to "talk it out" rather than fight. It made him suspicious. He would rather not fight, but he was more powerful and dangerous now. However...
this was definitely a knight. He had never felt such a strong aura from one before but now? Definitely. Perhaps that was why the other was so confident. After a while, Arseno slowly nodded his head once. "All right... let's go to the roof then." However, he moved before the knight could and used the escape to get up to the roof and then some space away from it. He was still wary of the other.

He watched the other take to the fire escape ahead of him, giving him that moment to put a bit of distance between them before ascending the ladder himself. He paused at the top once his feet hit the roof, glancing around to see whether or not the Negaverse agent had stuck around or if he'd taken the opportunity to run. He was pleasantly surprised to see him there still, flashing him a warm smile. "There. Much better, don't you think? Mag Mell, of Cosmos... And you are?"

Arseno waited a bit for the knight to follow him. He still was on his guard, though he hadn't really met any knights so far that were amazingly keen on attacking him, except for that one... the cowboy one. He wouldn't be able to forget that guy.
This knight however seemed to be trying to be much more friendly to Arseno. Arseno lifted an eyebrow at the other. "... Arsenopyrite." He said after waiting for a bit to see if there was anything else. He wouldn't be the one to start the conversation in this situation.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Captain Arsenopyrite." His smile remained warm and friendly in an attempt to get the other man to relax-- not let his guard down, but actually relax. His hands were down at his sides and he turned them slowly, raising them with palms open to show that he had no weapon and didn't seem to be ready to attack in the slightest. "Don't you think that if I'd wanted to fight I would have done so by now? I'd just like to talk... One on one. Unless you'd like to see a card trick. I've been told I know one or two, but I can't recall much about them so we'd be exploring that one together." Mag Mell chuckled softly as his hands lowered again. "What brings you out tonight? Other than making friends with the locals down in the alley?"

Well... it didn't seem as though the knight was out to get him. And while he would have agreed with what the knight said, it could just be a way to lull him into a false sense of security.
But... for now, he could talk. But if Arseno even saw a flinch of what could be perceived as an attack, he would not hesitate to teleport away. After all, he had gotten enough energy for the week. "I wouldn't be out here tonight if it wasn't for my 'friends'. If it were up to me I'd be at home watching movies or something." What was this guy trying to get at exactly? Why else would anything bring him out here anyway?

"Why isn't it up to you? Why can't you be home watching movies?" The Cosmos Knight certainly had a lot of questions to ask and he did so with a smile on his face, trying to keep up the air of friendliness and confidence. While he couldn't remember anything about the time he'd spent as Richterite of the Negaverse he could remember the feeling of paranoia as Rikard-- Always worried that someone was watching, it was hard to just settle and enjoy a quiet evening. Had been, at least. It wasn't anymore. "How long have you been with the Negaverse, Captain?"

Arseno snorted a bit. Why wasn't it up to him? Well first of all he had to answer to agents who were more powerful than him so yeah, he really didn't get to make the rules. If it was up to him, then he would probably be hanging out with his brother more, rather than having to go out and collect energy so that his brother would stay safe.
"A little over half a year." It wasn't very long, but he had gotten used to it, at least a bit. He still didn't like being in it though, but he didn't know if he wanted to switch to the other side. Honestly, he would rather just be done with all of it.

"You don't sound too thrilled. Most agents that I've run into, or that I've heard about, tend to be more enthusiastic. Second-guessing which side of the playing field you're on?" His brow lofted as he finally crossed his arms over his chest. "It was five years for me... Can't say I remember much about this side of it, but I can remember the toll it took on my civilian life. There are some things you don't notice until after you've had a chance to look back on it-- Reflect, I guess." He shook his head slowly, uncrossing his arms so that he could bring one hand up to brush fingers through his hair. "Long story short, you don't have to be out here. You don't have to drain energy, you don't have to take lives. You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do. You can just... Be you."

Arseno snorted. He knew there were quite a few agents who were really into their job. Too into it it seemed. Although he had slowly been changing, he still wasn't too comfortable with the whole situation, perhaps because he couldn't justify his fellow agents actions. He had second-guessed his position quite often, but he had been too much of a coward to try and figure out a way to escape.
"I know, I've gone through this same song and dance before. I've been told by senshi and knights that there is a way to switch. And I would have if I had felt safe enough, but I have others I am protecting by staying with the Negaverse." He knew that it wouldn't be over if he switched, it never would. "And I know that if I did go to... your side, I would still be caught up in all of this. There is no escaping it. Might as well be on the side that's most likely to win, no?"

"We'll have to agree to disagree on that one, friend. I'd rather fight for the side that doesn't leave me questioning who I am and whether or not I belong in all of this. As a Captain I was lost and nothing felt right. I did things that were expected of me, but they weren't really me-- that wasn't who I was, who I was meant to be. This?" His brow lofted, shoulders rising and falling in a light shrug. "This feels a whole heck of a lot better. Chaos weighs you down in ways you might never find yourself thinking about until it's gone." His eyes had drifted skyward for a moment as he'd spoken, now leveling back on the other man's face. "People on the inside that you're protecting? Or civilians on the outside?"

Arseno thought about it for a minute, considering the knights words. "What you say is true but..." And he seemed to glare at the other for a bit. "How do you know I wouldn't be questioning what I was doing on the other side? I know how small of a resistance you guys have, I know how big the Negaverse is being on this side. What if I were on that side, and all I could see was that we were barely surviving? Every day the Negaverse grows stronger and every day I..." He hesitated, wondering if he should even say it. "I wonder if the world would survive without the Negaverse anyway."
He shook his head, smiling a bit, though it couldn't be seen under the mask. "I'm not sure why I should tell you, but I have some very important civilians that could be attacked if I were to ever leave considering how large the Negaverse database is and ever since they didn't listen to my warnings of not moving here..." Already he had told the knight too much.
He sent a pained look to the knight. "I will... consider what you have said, however, for right now, I know my place is here because... I know I can't switch, even if I wanted to right now. But... thank you." He said, nodding, before going back down into the alleyway where they had met, not even giving the knight a chance to respond. A chance to... convince him otherwise to actually go with the knight for a bit and to see that there might actually be some hope...Skye Starrfyre all right that's my ending post, thanks so much!
