User Image Chauski was waiting for his new muse, he needed a special challenge for his junior project and he had asked Carol to come sing for him. It would be a big challenge for him to sculpt her in clay to try to capture her song as she sang it. To bend and press the clay into a masterpiece of song and life. This wouldn't be an easy task because asking her to actually sing, she would be moving and Chau would have to choose the exact perfect moment to capture to make the piece come to life. If he stalled or hesitated as he worked he could very well lose that moment. Time lost he couldn't afford with the project deadline.

Carol was excited, it wasn't often she got asked to sing solo, and for such a cool project as well. The creator was going to capture her song in clay, it would be a meeting of the minds, or muses as it were in a way Carol certainly had never done before. It was utterly thrilling, and yet also terrifying.

Carol stopped just before the door to the clay studio where she was to meet Chauski. She still hadn't decided which song she was going to sing for this- as she wanted it to be a product of the moment, the relationship between her art and his art. She had some picked out that she had rehearsed but even so, she didn't want to over do it. As always the butterflies where whirling in her stomach, it was so much more intimate to sing for one that she was surprised at their strength. But she took a deep breath and pushed the door open and entered.

Hello! She chimed softly Sorry to be late, I'm not used to finding my way around this part of the school.

User Image Chau smiled when his new art subject arrived and he grinned and shook his head. "That's alright if you'll start singing I'll start blocking out the sculpture and get to work, then you can take a break and we will start again, I want to get this right and capture you in song as best I can." Chau knew it was going to be a challenge he had never attempted to make a sculpture with of someone doing an activity let alone an act of someone singing he would have to figure out how to show that Caral was singing not just a figure with their mouth open.

Carol bit her lip at Chau's words. She still hadn't figured out which song to sing and she'd figured that they would talk a bit about what type of song he wanted- but apparently not. She shook her head softly......and her earrings chimed in response. Inspiration struck. She knew what to sing.

Quickly she stepped into the room and took a stand up in front of the work area Chau had set up. She paused for a brief moment to compose herself, then began singing pianissimo, her voice soft but supported.

Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away

She looked shyly up at Chau under her lashes, feeling the thrill that always came to her when she lifted her voice in song.

Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.
She got louder as the song called for it, her sweet clear soprano soaring like the bell she was mimicking.

User Image Chau smiled as he listened to Carol singing, he started to make the sculpture he added in some bells and winter solstice stuff using artist licence to make the piece better and slowly it took form. He was focused on creating, then he frowned and sighed he liked the piece but still felt like it was missing something. "Can you take it from the top Carol I want to hear it again, I think this is still missing something." Chau glared at his model that looked like a beautiful holiday Carol, which was great but it needed something more and Chau needed to figure out what that was or he'd never be able to move on.

Carol felt rather awkward singing for her audience of one. And even more strange as she watched Chau create out of clay- and she almost lost her place in the song once or twice trying to look at what was being done. Taking a deep breath and letting it go she took her mark once more to start from the top. Closing her eyes she pictured herself on stage, singing solo for a packed house. She was in her element, bringing the joy of songs of the season to people.

She lost herself in her music, singing the whole song flawlessly- this time so intent on her performance that she didn't notice a single thing Chau did.

Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away

Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.

Ding dong ding dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling.

One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From everywhere
Filling the air.

Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.

On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone
To every home.

Ding dong ding dong
Ding dong ding dong

Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
(We will throw cares away)

Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.
(Bringing cheer to the young and old)

Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas

On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone
To every home.

User Image Chauski listened to Carol sing once again and he worked the clay bringing the life to the piece that he needed. He needed this and soon he was lost in his the process consumed by his creativity. It took a while but Chauski didn't feel it. He finished the piece had spots so Chau could hang music notes once the piece was dried. He smiled and took a deep breath. Then he looked at his model. "Thanks a lot, Carol this means a lot to me." He took the tray the lovely singer on it to the side of the art room and took a drying charm to dry the art piece. His next step was painting his sculpture.
