It got eery quiet after he had waved goodbye to Mimi. A little too quiet...

Just great, I have to go... by myself...

He knew he had no choice but to go down further into the Cove since he agreed to become a Hunter at free will.

Sy looked down at the flight of stairs that stretched and spiraled into the darkness. Somewhere further down, he noticed a small ball of flaming fire. Ok wimp, you can do it - go down till you can touch the flame... he told himself while trying to remain calm, but, curiosity got to him. He picked up his pace and started to run down the stairs until he found himself inside a rather small room.

He thought he needed the flame to see better but it pretty much lit up half the room in front of him. That was good enough for him since he could see all the tiny tablets jam packed against one side of the wall in the room.

Walking slowly, not wanting to miss anything, he started to inspect the wall filled with differently shaped stone tablets. All o them had symbols on it. Some had circles, some looked like shields, axes, swords, and for some - he didn't even know what types were inscribed into them.

"... Are these..what Mimi mentioned about...? Weapons with super powers..?" Gently, he pressed his palm against the wall and dragged it across, feeling the smoothness and roughness of the wall.

< You're finally here... > she spoke in a satisfied tone. it was welcoming and not impatient at all.

"Who.. who said that!?" He spun around quickly but there was no one there. Of course. "Show yourself!" His hands now balled into fists ready to fight whomever was messing around with him. Sy wasn't sure if he had gone crazy to hear voices in his head right now or if someone was pulling a sick joke on newcomers. What he was currently wearing didn't help his image either. Every hole seemed to have been patched up with fabric. At least his shoes were sturdy and warm. He liked those.

< I'm right here... Put your hand back onto this wall and walk further towards the corner... I do like corners, you know... And the darkness... >

"Which way?" he asked out loud, going left in a hurry as he touched like ten tablets in one swipe.

< No the other way, silly. Near the bottom... > the voice made strange ticking noises as if nails were tapping on tile.

Sy shrugged and did what he was told. Running his palm along the wall once more, he crouched down and touched the ones near the bottom corner. One of them felt hot as he went over it.

< Yesss. Yess. That's me. Can you feel me? Gently, pull me out... > the voice seemed to be happy to see him.

He did not let go and placed another hand on top of the warmth. Slowly, he moved his hands apart and dug his nails into the sides of the stone and pulled.

Once it came out, quicker than he'd imagined, Sy turned it closer to the lighting, noticing that this particular tablet had a weird marking on it. Sort of like a staff.. or a mini scythe? "What? Are you?" he asked.

He could hear girlish giggles as he watched it transform and take shape of a hybrid weapon. Taken off guard, he used both hands to carry and support its weight when it came into full view. He was unable to keep his eyes from seeing green liquid oozing out of the spikes and drip onto the floor......

< Ahh finally, Master Sy. Took you long enough. How do I look? > she teased him, and changed shape once more. This time, instead of a warm runic tablet, she remained black like shadow and turned into a sturdy hair clip resting on the middle of his palm.

"Ok.... so.. That was awesome! I could see myself swinging that around! Hey -- Wait a minute -- How'd you know my name?" he asked, picking up the clip with his thumb and finger, inspecting it. "You said my name."

< Don't you want to know mine, Master Sy? > the voice asked back, completely ignoring his question. < We're partners now. >

"Ok fine. Tell me your name. I'm Sy, Sy Klingensmith, but you already know that, obviously. Just, stop calling me Master." He didn't want to throw the clip away or put it in his pocket. It did call out to him after all, and in the end he'd decided to just attach it to a lock of his black hair. It seemed to blend in well. Barely noticeable too.

< Master Sy, I'm Phiophaeia. Is what they call me. >

"Ph - Phi - Phea? Your name is unpronounceable!" he shouted, all flustered and frustrated.

His partner just giggled hearing him struggle to say her name properly. < Master Sy, what if you called me Ia? >

"Ia, stop calling me Master. It sounds, too formal." he told her, slightly blushing. Why did my weapon turn out to be female?
