Everything was a big, huge mess.

Which... Quite honestly was her own fault considering she went against the Negaverse, pulled a Lieutenant's starseed, attacked a General Queen -- who was now the actual straight up Queen of all of the things, stopped a Senshi from being Corrupted by said Queen of all of the things, and then ran away for a year.

Yeah, everything was definitely a big, huge messy mess.

And considering all of that, Cyllene wasn't entirely sure what the hell she was doing back in Destiny City. Nothing good could possibly come of it, even more-so of her powering up.

But alas there she was, in all of her Senshi glory, wandering aimlessly in the park because she didn't really want to collect energy - that was mean - and she didn't want to fight people - that was mean too. And quite frankly if she was going to be summoned and punished or killed... Well, that was going to happen regardless of where she was or what she was or wasn't doing.

What she didn't expect, was to come across a very familiar, very strange, almost broken power signature. And feeling it caused a giant knot in the pit of Cyllene's stomach because not only did that mean she would have to face Valhalla a whole year after the events in the Rift... But also that what he said in the midst of that fight was still true- he was dying.

The blonde Corrupt approached him slowly, her boots making soft crunching noises in the snow. "Valhalla?," she called out to him. It would be rude not to say hello.

He shouldn’t be out like he was, Valhalla knew. He should either be resting or trying to figure out how to have his starseed healed, one way or another. Or, if there really wasn’t any other choice, he would have to make the decision to return it to the Cauldron, himself.

Not quite ready for that step, he decided taking a walk in the chilly winter air would be better to try and calm his continuously frayed nerves. It wasn’t very helpful, but it was something.

Although he was startled when he heard his name being called, he didn’t jump; he didn’t have the energy to react too quickly, even though not being able to feel auras was still unsettling. But he did immediately turn to see if his ears were tricking him. Because after everything, after what was happening to him and to the others he’d met and the world in general, he often thought about what happened to Cyllene and if she was okay and that he couldn’t imagine how in danger she must be for everything she’d done for them.

“C-Cyllene,” he choked as he stared at her, lifting a hand to cover his mouth as if to try and hide the sudden emotion that threatened to bubble up. Corrupted or not, Cyllene was and will always be important to him and to Ganymede and to so many others. And while she approached him slowly, he practically ran to her and threw his arms around her shoulders to pull into a tight hug.

“I was so worried. Ganymede, too.”

Unsure of how he would react when he saw her, Cyllene stood perfectly still as he came at her and threw his arms around her. She froze for a moment, eyes wide, and then all of a sudden her entire body relaxed and practically melted as she returned his hug not-quite-so-tightly because she was afraid of hurting him.

They were worried about her, and that fact alone solidified everything Cyllene had decided for herself over the last year- because of all the people that she knew, the only people that worried about her were the ones that were supposed to be her enemies.

"I'm okay, really. I just... I had to leave after what happened. I'm so sorry if I scared you, I was afraid they would kill me for helping you guys so I freaked out and left and I wasn't sure if I should come back but I couldn't just stay away and I felt guilty for disappearing and--" she cut herself off and took a breath from talking so fast. Her brow furrowed and she pouted at the Jupiter Knight when she realized how weak he really was.

"And you're still not well. I thought you'd be better by now..."

She had hoped he'd be better by now because it would be terribly selfish of her to ask for his help when he... When he had whatever it was that he had. Also because he was her friend and friends care about that sort of thing- she worried about him and Ganymede too, and that made her heart feel warm and fuzzy.

He was so happy to see her safe and alive that he couldn’t even think about his own problems. She had so much more to worry about than he did. She was in so much more danger than he was, especially after what she’d done to help them.

“I’m okay,” he told her as he pulled back from the hug to smile at her, unable to contain the happiness he felt. Even though he wasn’t okay, being able to see her seemed to be like a boost that he needed to keep going. “It’ll be okay,” he promised, not wanting her to worry about him, even though he was sure she could see that he was exhausted.

“Ganymede and I have two one-year-olds to look after, so of course I don’t look well,” he tried to joke, but also quite aware that he was sharing with her information about his family that could easily be used against him and them in the wrong hands. But this was Cyllene, and he refused not to trust her.

“Don’t feel guilty, we all understand. I’m just happy I’ll be able to tell Ganymede that you’re okay. And,” he paused, knowing that she was worried. “I’m still working on fixing what’s wrong with me. It’ll be okay,” he promised again.

“I’ll find a way to get through it. I have too much to live for. And I want to make sure you’re safe. Do you need anything. I want to help. Please.”

Cyllene completely lit up at the mention of Valhalla and Ganymede's children. "You have babies," she said. It was not a question, she was simply repeating what he had told her. That he and Ganymede were together and had a family outside of all of this, it was just absolute perfection to her.

"You have to get better. For her and them and yourself and me. I don't think I can do this without you. I don't know who else to ask or who to go to," her voice lowered and she sighed. Her right hand raised to brush away strands of her ridiculously long hair before both hands clasped together behind her.

One heeled boot kicked at the ground nervously, unsure of how she should go about in having this conversation. "There is something..." Cyllene looked up at him, worry and doubt clear in her eyes.

"But I... I don't... I shouldn't risk you or her or anyone. I should figure it out on my own." She paused. "You have babies," she repeated. Because that was important and he was weak enough as it was and had enough on his plate.

“I’m doing everything I can. I’ll get better,” he promised, although he knew it was easier said than done, but he was determined. Seeing her alive and safe gave him one more thing to fight for. He wasn’t ready to give all that up, not when there was still a chance.

Valhalla blinked curiously at her when she started speaking and then stopped, shaking his head at her hesitation to show that he didn’t mind. He knew how it felt not to want other people involved, but without that support, without knowing that there were people who would always be there to help, Valhalla didn’t know how he would get through everything, himself.

“What is it? It’s okay. Whatever I can do to help, I want to try. And I’m sure whatever Ganymede can do to help, too. You’re our family too, you know,” he said quietly, a bit sadly because it hurt his heart to know that she had been in such a horrible place for so long. They hadn’t been able to help her as much as they’d wanted in the past, but if there was a chance now, he wanted to take it.

“Please, Cyllene. Let us help. You don’t have to keep doing this on your own,” he said, finding it very difficult not to reach out to her again, to hold her tight because while he didn’t know her as much as he wanted, she’d always been someone important to him.

If Valhalla was anything, he was selfless....... Ok, and persistent. And if Cyllene was being honest with herself, she knew very well that he and Ganymede were the only people she could go to with what she wanted. While she was sure there were other options... None of those options were options for her. This was the only way.

"Ok," she conceded. If he considered her family as he said he did, then she needed to be able to ask for support. That's what families did and her lack of asking in the first place is what drove her into the cold arms of the Negaverse.

Her eyes met his, her nervousness clear. She had never really said the words out loud before... "I want to come home," she said quietly, her voice shaky. "I don't know if I can. I have no idea if it's even possible to switch sides again..."

A gloved hand raised and her fingertips dipped into her own chest to pull out the dull, darkened starseed. She looked down at it, feeling as broken as her soul was, then looked back at Valhalla. Her starseed glimmered as best as it could in the open palms of her hands.

"I want to fix it," she added. "I want to be a Jovian again. And I know it's a lot to ask- but I hoped Ganymede would be able to do it. If anyone can do it, it's a Princess, right?"

Even though he wanted to give her space, when Cyllene pulled the blackened starseed from her chest, he couldn’t help but step forward and gently place his hands against the back of hers. It was a gesture to protect that starseed, no matter how damaged it was. They would both fix their starseeds, no matter what it took.

“It’s not just Ganymede,” Valhalla promised, gently closing Cyllene’s hands around her starseed, holding his securely around both of hers. “She’ll need your help. I’ve seen her do it. She helped Wolframite, and Bismuthite. But she needed their help to do it,” he explained. Camelot had been there too, and he didn’t want to discredit him for the time and energy he spent helping bring them both to the side of the White Moon, but he wasn’t sure how she felt about the other knight, and knew it might be easier with familiar names.

“We’ll protect you. You’ll be welcome in our home. You’re a Joavian, and you always have been, even like this,” Valhalla promised with a smile. She was looking for help, and he thought he might cry from happiness at the thought of having her back with them. He’d been so worried about her for so long. She was already his family, and he knew Ganymede felt the same.

“Whatever you need, we’ll make sure you have it, Cyllene.”
