Jacintha sat on her bed as she read about fey culture, wanting to know more about it because of her boyfriend Caron. She really liked him, and in fact she was beginning to wonder if she even loved the fey. He was everything she could ever want, her heart seemingly turning softer than normal whenever she simply thought of him. There was no feeling quite like it in this world, and Jacintha was beginning to believe her simply like really was more. The only thing stopping her from truly believing it was the fact she wasn't a senior yet, but it wouldn't be long before she would be.
As she read through a book on Fey customs though, she came across something that caught her eye. Dance? What about dance and love? Her eyes read over the second a second time, her heart beating faster as she did. The fey created dances for those they loved to proclaim their love, and if the one they were dancing for danced with them, then they had agreed to those feelings back. Something about it just spoke to her, unable to get her mind off of Caron the whole time. She wanted to make a dance for him, a dance to show him she loved him.
Finally she accepted her feelings for the fey, despite her still being young. Love was a strange and powerful thing right? Why couldn't it happen when one was young? With her mind made up she got to work, doing hours of research into dance and what different loves meant to the fey, to the imps, and to other races. This wasn't going to be some simply dance. No, this would be one she poured her whole being into. One night would simply not be enough, the project she had set her heart into taking weeks and soon a whole month. Every time she was alone she was perfecting her every movement to get the story she had created in her love dance correct.
Then a month later it was complete, her recording it for good measure so she would have the dance video ready in chase she forgot any bits and could watch before performing it for him. Now there was one last problem... when would she perform it? Surely it was too early to actually perform it for her beloved Caron. Maybe when the two had finally become seniors? No, still too early. Half way through the senior year? No, that wouldn't work. Well maybe at their one year anniversary? No, the two would still probably be in school. A fear she had not felt before began to wash over her as she thought of when to present her dance for Caron, holding her tail as she thought of a terrible prospect. What if Caron didn't want to spend the rest of their lives together? Sure he could like her, but what about loved? Perhaps it would be best to shelve the dance for now, and wait to see if she could figure out if he really did.
Little did she realize that everyday would haunt her now about the love she had for that fey with the eyes of a crystal ocean and wings of gentle red rose petals, about how maybe he didn't and wouldn't accept her love for him back. She had the perfect dance to proclaim her devotion to him, but the question would remain forever in her mind until the day she would perform it. 'Will he dance with me?'
