She had tried to shake the green lioness, but every step she had taken had been mirrored instantly. For a lioness so bright, this 'Suumarle' was turning out to be quite the shadow. It seemed that Oa would be stuck with her for the foreseeable future at this rate, and yet just as she had begun to get used to the idea of having her own personal escort... Suu'marle had vanished without a chase. There hadn't been a word spoken, a breath of movement, one moment she had been there and the next she was gone.
...What Oa hadn't realised at the time was that the she had been so focused in shaking the persistent lioness that she hadn't kept tabs on where she had been going. She had wandered so far afield that she couldn't quite recall how to get back again. Consequently she was going to have to start the whole process of tracking down that Justicar all over again. It wasn't an activity that she relished, and yet it was something that she was going to have to do.
She absolutely, positively, couldn't go back without the Justicar.
Thus she had soon made an about turn and was beginning to make her way back the way she thought she had come. She would have made progress if it hadn't been for one tiny little detail...Words: 228

Tiny wasn't quite the description most would have used - at her full size, even as a deity who preferred a more 'slight' form, she was significantly larger than Oa. Truth be told the deity cut an impressive figure when she wanted to, and on this occasion she definitely wanted to. While the sire of her cubs may not have been aware, Arimathras had been observing the encounter that the darker lioness and Destati had had. She had remained silent of course, merely waiting until the dark lioness had confirmed her suspicions.
Oh Destati may not have asked for her name, but Arimathras knew who this one was.
Her name was 'Oa', or that was what her son had told her. His description had been very specific and while it had been pleasant at one point in time, it had not been pleasant on his return. At first Arimathras hadn't been able to pull the information from him, but gradually as he had settled back in to his home to take a breather he had conceded. What came next was a series of retold events that knocked Arimathras's nose out of joint. Suffice it to say that the usually benevolent deity really didn't take insults to her family very well at all.
...Oa had implied a great many things, she had questioned the honour of not just Tethys, but of his entire bloodline. She hadn't even thought anything of it, for a welp her arrogance was truly impressive. Unfortunately for this welp, she had bitten off far more than she could chew. While Arimathras wasn't one for violence she could certainly talk down when she really wanted to and after everything she had witnessed now was definitely one of those moments.
Thus the winged lioness had slammed into the ground with her paws without a shred of grace and straightened. Her gaze much harder than any of her family had ever had the privileged to see, she stared down upon the darker lioness with disdain.
"I do not believe you are permitted to go this way," she remarked in a cool tone. Words: 351

What the hell was she? Oa was stopped dead in her tracks by what she could only describe as a half bird, half lion. She'd never had the good grace to meet a deity and thus to her, what she came up against was nothing more than a weird species that she had yet to encounter here. She'd never seen anything like it in her life, and yet it seemed to have the same arrogance and pride that everything else in the Outlands appeared to have. Perhaps that was why the Justicar was behaving in such a manner, whatever was in this land just seeped into the blood and inspired insolence.
Oa wrinkled her nose in distaste, it was no wonder they were so uncivilised out here. They were all too busy being difficult to achieve anything worthy of genuine respect. Fortunately, she could simply go around the peculiar lioness and this was exactly what she proceeded to do. She didn't have time to play games and the Justicar could throw as many lions in her path as he wanted, she was still going to drag him home if she had to.
It was with this in mind that she turned her nose up (again) and attempted to sweep passed the deity. A cut-direct if there ever was one, but she didn't have time to play with the ill bred, regardless of how pure they might look at a glance...Words: 240

Oh how quaint! The power that Arimathras had been surpressing was released, and the once short grasses immediately began to sprout into something more monstrous. A jungle was forming around the darker lioness and in the very middle of it stood the white lioness. She had taken a seat at this point, continuing to regard Oa with an incredibly bored expression as the plants around her began to ripen and mature at an exponential rate.
Arimathras could forgive a measure of confusion, even fear at the unknown, but she couldn't forgive disrespect. The darker lioness had literally turned her nose up at her and was attempting to saunter passed as if she owned the place. There was just one problem with that, in a land of gods, the deities typically made the calls when they were around.
This was how things worked, the natural order as it were, clearly Oa wasn't aware of this.
"Allow me to rephrase," Arimathras purred and raised a brow. "You are definitely not allowed to go that way," she pointed out and then released a deep sigh. "Besides, we have so much to discuss, Oa."Words: 190

Several emotions flowed through Oa as the events occurred... Ranging from fury at first to fear. She was used to faux magic, the scourge used it in earnest throughout their kingdom during their attacks, but this was quite unlike anything she had ever seen. She had cowered away from one set of plants, only to find her back pressed against another set. When she eventually had nowhere to run she was forced to turn and face the lioness who even knew her name yet Oa didn't have one for her.
How had the Justicar found this one? She could change everything and yet she was out here. She was proof of exactly what the phantoms did not want to see. Something almost certainly divine, something of immense power... and something that really didn't appear to like her at the moment. She could acknowledge that perhaps her disrespect hadn't helped but now, what was she supposed to say?
"How do you know my name?" she demanded. "Did the Just -"Words: 168

"My son," Arimathras interrupted before the lioness had the chance to speak. If the deity gave her the opportunity to run her mouth then she would have to put up with a lot of ridiculous notions that she really didn't have time for. Yes, contrary to popular belief, Arimathras knew exactly how to flex her muscles when she needed to and on this occasion a very special mortal needed to be advised as to how things worked. Step one in that lesson was to get her to sit down, the second was to get her to shut up, and talking over her would achieve that.
"Has provided some very, very detailed recounts of his expeditions into these lands," she continued before the lioness could speak again. With the rate at which the plant life was growing she was soon forced to sit, and then eventually kneel down as the weight pressed against her back. For all intents and purposes, Arimathras was deliberately bringing the mortal to her knees. It was most unlike her and something that might have left both her offspring and the one she had chosen as her mate, somewhat startled.
"Interestingly you have come up more than once," she lifted a paw and gave a wag of one of her toes. "The first you were spoken of in a mostly neutral manner, an individual likely to have come from Destati's homeland, and one who had a vested interest in finding him," she smirked. She hadn't connected the dots at the time, but eventually Arimathras had recalled that she had met this one before... she'd been asked for directions as well.
"The second? Not so much... It appears you rather like to run your mouth," she paused briefly and chuckled.

Oa's eyes widened in realisation; this lioness had been the rabbit she had encountered in passing. The entity that had spoken in riddles, remained so incredibly vague so that the darker lioness hadn't stood a chance of finding his trail? Somehow it didn't seem possible and yet as the weight of the plantlife pressed down on her back and forced her to the ground, she gazed up at the deity incredulously. Perhaps the outland did have things worthy of respect, but as it stood now, all she had was its ire.
...If she were to escape from this alive, she would recall that felines with wings were something to take considerable care around. They weren't just a different species, they were in a different league. How Destati had managed to court one of these beings, how he had managed to sire offspring, was something Oa would have loved to know. He had forsaken his duty and yet this being chose to defend him, surely...
"We need him to come home," she replied stubbornly from beneath the undergrowth. "The others won't listen to us, they won't see reason," she continued. Perhaps if she explained herself to the lioness she might be more understanding, she might even help the Justicar see reason. "Without the Justicar there to temper his brothers they won't capitulate, we'll be thrown in to chaos."

"You mean the scourge you released on this land?" Ari hadn't quizzed Destati on the entirety of the tale, but he had given her enough of a history lesson to appreciate the significance of the issue. Had it not been for the mistakes of Oa's land then the 'Outlands' would have been untouched. For all intents and purposes, Destati had every reason to be out here and remain out here... If the other Justicars were refusing to provide assistance then they obviously had a very clear reason for doing so.
"Forgive me for my lack of sympathy," she drawled and swept her mane away from her eyes. "He has every right to correct your errors before returning, your mistakes have already caused considerable suffering to this land," she narrowed her eyes. Clearly the attempts to appeal to her better nature had failed on this occasion. Perhaps it really was because she knew too much, or perhaps there was a part of her that was completely selfish.
Regardless, she had no intention of persuading Destati to return home.
"I would be so bold as to guess that the intentions of bringing him home is to put the Justicars under your thumb," she clucked her tongue and shook her head. "So allow me to inform you as to how this is going to go - as you are in my lands, you are going to follow my rules -"
She paused for effect.
"You are going to go home, and when you return you are going to inform your circle that the Justicar is remaining in these lands. He will continue with his duties until he is satisfied they are completed," she cleared her throat and rose to her feet. "He will return when he is ready, he will make his own judgement as is his prerogative," she narrowed her eyes.
"And if you insult my bloodlines again I will not just make you kneel," she stated. "I will crush you."
A pregnant pause followed.
"Consider this a warning, in future you would do well to remember your place on this earth," she began to walk off, though the pressure from the plants didn't lessen from the darker lioness. "You are mortal and by extension you are weak. You are a noble, not a Justicar, you are a subordinate to him -" she smirked. "And by extension, you are subordinate to my offspring on both accounts."
"Do try to remember that? Won't you?" she finished.
With that the lioness soon took flight. Her plants would soon dissipate without her influence and Oa would be released... It was just unfortunate for the darker lioness that a certain black lion was waiting in the wings to enact his own orders.
