"You are going to be trouble aren't you?" Lucien looked down at the ball of fur that was tucked into his arm as he headed into one of the petstores near his apartment. If it wasn't for the fact that the kitten, Sumi, was one of the Mauvians and seemed to have been specifically looking for him for some reason he'd have left the thing outside. He didn't do pets and he had nothing in his place that was suitable for a kitten. Sumi's ears perked when he heard Lucien's voice and he looked up at the senshi. "Nu. I mean I don't want to be. I'm not am I?" "Dont' pout!" He whispered as he headed toward the 'cat' section. "And don't talk while we're in here." He scratched the kitten's ears before looking around at all the various things. Shaking his head he pulled out his phone, picking Sumi up enough he could take a picture of himself and the cat before sending it to his cousin. [ Text from Lucien: At the pet store. Help ]

It took a moment for the photo to load through on her phone, but as soon as it did she dialed through to her cousin as opposed to texting him back. Cordelia had never known Luc to be much of a cat person, let alone an animal person at all-- Well, no, that wasn't entirely the case. When they were children he'd had a fish tank with a goldfish or two and then he'd eventually swapped that out for a betta when the goldfish didn't last thing long... But a cat? Since when. As soon as she heard someone pick up on the other end she was talking away. "Luc, what are you doing with a cat?"

"Are you in your car on your way here to help me?" He ignored her question for the moment, more concerned with making sure someone was going to help him pick out stuff. Not that he thought Sumi couldn't pick out some things on his own but that wasn't the point. He didn't know what all you needed for a cat other than some very simple basics. Cordelia probably didn't have any better idea than him either but she seemed like the right person to ask anyway.

" No, I just got off of the couch to grab my phone when your text came through and now I'm standing here wondering what you're doing with a cat... There's also more than one pet store in Destiny City, you know. If you want me to meet you at one you're going to have to be more specific." Her tone was teasing at the last bit, and she'd already gone to her room to snag a coat and a scarf. It was easy from there to grab her keys and make sure that her wallet was inside her coat pocket before heading to the door. "Where exactly are you, Luc? And does your flat even allow cats?"

"Cordy. It's one of those cats. And I have it because two other really big tom cats were harassing it and ... i was just going to let it go until it ...you know." He couldn't exactly blab the whole story in the middle of the dish isle in a pet store and hoped that his cousin got the hint. He could explain the whole thing to her later. "I'm at the one near my flat. Um, on Cherry Street? Fiona owns it so I don't think it'll be a problem. She'll understand."

"Stars, Luc... Slow down a bit." She shook her head as she slid out the door, locking her apartment up behind you. "For a moment there I was starting to think you were talking about a pet store that Fiona owned, which would have been news to me. Let me off the phone and I'll be there shortly, assuming you don't mind waiting around until I make the drive. I'm heading from home so it might take a bit."

"No, apartment Fiona owns and no. I mean I do mind but I can at least look around while you're driving and Sumi can pick out some stuff he likes." He'd probably have to head back up to the front of the store and grab a buggy. That would have been smart to do up front since there was no way he would be able to carry everything he needed and the kitten at the same time. "I'll see you in a bit. Drive safe." When he hung up he tucked his phone away and headed back up front to get that buggy. Sumi sat nicely in the front while he headed back to look at litter. That would probably be the most complicated part anyway.

Without traffic it was a fifteen minute drive from her apartment to where Lucien was now staying. With traffic the drive took just a little bit longer. Sometimes it was much easier to power up and sprint across town than it was to deal with people who didn't seem to have any idea how a turn signal was supposed to work. There was most definitely a reason why Cordelia had started to rely more on public transportation... Once she found a parking space outside the pet store she pulled out a phone, sending a quick text to her cousin. [ Text to Luc: Still inside? Where are you at?? ]

Sumi got distracted by the toys.] He'd intended to go look at important things but when he'd walked down the aisle that had the toys Sumi had stretched out of the cart at one of the feathered tufts. Instead of letting the kitten fall out he'd stopped so Sumi could prod at the toys. There was already one with feathers and a bell on a string in the cart and he was waiting for Sumi to pick between a couple of pillows with tails. "You have to pick one. I'm not buying both." He ruffled the top of the kitten's head before looking around for his cousin.

Cordelia checked the text before tucking her phone into her pocket on her way inside. Her head tilted up so that she could check the departments to gather her bearings in the store, making note of which direction the 'Cat' section was in before heading there. It was easy enough to follow the sound of of crinkling and the occasional jingle of a bell to where Lucien and his new feline companion were. "You know, if I wasn't seeing this with my own eyes..."

"If you don't pick i'm going to pick for you." He eyed Sumi until the kitten latched into the dark gray and pink pillow and he took the other one away just as he heard his cousin's voice. Hanging the toy back up he looked over at Cordy. "This is not the time to be teasing me. Hearing Cordelia's voice and noticing someone else was there sent Sumi darting to the edge of the basket seat so he could try to hide behind Arsinoe and his toy, neither of which worked well.

"Are you certain about that, Luc? Because it seems to be the perfect time to be teasing you. I don't think I remember you ever having more than fish when we were kids-- Even when I went through the 'everyone has a hamster so I want one' stage." A soft smirk touched her lips, arms crossing lightly over her chest as she leaned to peer around him. "Are you going to introduce me to your new friend?"

"I have a beta still..." He'd had one most of the way through school and when he'd finally settled in his apartment he'd gotten another once since they were rather nice to have. "Everything else can make a mess. Hard for a fish to do that." He grinned slightly as he shifted so he could pick Sumi up. "This is Sumi." Sumi mewed softly, looking up at Lucien for a moment before looking back at Cordelia. He seemed okay with the lady so she couldn't be dangerous but she was new.

Cordelia uncrossed her arms slowly so as to seem a little less imposing to the small, startled feline. She held her hand out closer to the kitten without touching it, giving it a moment to decide whether or not it was interested in being any closer to her. "You're not the first Mau I've met, you know." Her voice had dropped low, although in saying 'Mau' she was certain other people would just hear ' Meow' and think she was baby-talking a cat. "You're in good company, even if Luc isn't a cat person... Or hasn't been before."

Sumi eyed the hand for a momemt before he leanrd put enough to sniff. Once Cordelia started talking he relaxed and butter against her hand for scritches. He meowed softly before leaning back into Luciens arms. "She's the same as me." He prodded Sumis side gently and the kitten huffed softlyin response. "In not a cat person .. Or an anything person." He was clueless as to what he should be doing with a kitten. Much less one that could talk.
